  1. My sources tell me that there will be another round (or two) of bold predictions in advance of actual Watson news.

That, in itself, is a bold prediction.

Stop by Twitter some time. Bring your popcorn.

I'm not sure anymore, to be completely honest!

I can absolutely see going out and getting your QB.  Unless you have a franchise QB, you're always looking for one.  That's kind of an age old adage.  On @ellis's podcast, Steven Ruiz made a similar point to how the Chiefs have been kind of wackadoodle in their player acquisition.  Doesn't matter too much because Mahomes hides all kinds of deficits.

On the flip side, we have SO MANY holes on our team.  Giving up all of that, it would make it hard for Watson to really thrive here to make the investment worth it.  I mean, we've seen teams with lesser QBs win SBs with a much stronger team around them.

Heck, I'm just a fan.  I don't envy the guys in the building who have to weigh those kinds of options!

Thank you for listening to my podcast. It certainly softens the blow from the one guy on this site who posts as if he follows me around at night in a ‘94 Cutlass Supreme.

I’ve always enjoyed stopping by here. Jeremy has been very nice to let me share some of our episodes. Always an interesting conversation hub.

  3. Sam Farmer of the Los Angeles Times (one of the best in the business) is our guest this week. Perspective from his visit to Super Bowl 55, Arians/Gronk/Brady stories, and the latest buzz on the QB market. We also talked Panthers with Sam. How close was Carolina to landing Matt Stafford? Plus, why he believes Scott Fitterer will be a great GM for the Panthers. (Sam goes way back with Scott.)

Billy and I also break down the SB + all things Panthers as we enter another fascinating offseason.

One of our better episodes. Hope you guys enjoy it.

They absolutely seem shook by the reality that Teddy was exactly what he's always out on tape in the NFL. Joe Brady's supposed brilliance and all of our weapons and he was still a barely mediocre NFL QB. I mean, it was entirely predictable but they seem stunned by it. Teddy was supposed to mean they could take their time finding the long-term answer at QB. It absolutely did not work out that way.

Teddy was exactly what I thought he would be after looking at tape from his previous seasons. The injury didn’t help matters. The situational football was really bad down the stretch, even with Brady on the field. It was just a mess, to be honest.

But what does that have to do with Teppers "patience"?  If its clear Teddy isnt getting it done then he needs to be replaced.  I am not sure how you are pulling tepper into this.  Maybe i am reading you wrong but it jsut seems you are assuming an awful lot based on really nothing.  We are trying to upgrade.  Nothing less, nothing more.

He’s the owner. I’m of the opinion that he’s ready to start dipping his beak into some winning seasons. Again, it’s just an opinion.

Wait, you think us going after a qb is Tepper losing his patience?  Thats how you are reading things?  Its more like "teddy sucks" get him out of here.  IMO 2 completely different things

I think it’s an indicator that they, from an organizational perspective, are ready to start competing right now. I mean, how else can you look at it?

This comment (and his tweet) is based on absolutely nothing.  Tepper hasnt done or said anything recently to make people think he is impatient.  How many times in the past 18 months has he preached patience.

I mean, have you been following their widely-reported activity in the quarterback market lately? I’m not even attacking the owner here, I’m actually in favor of this aggressive approach.

This is absolutely a weak attempt at click bait with nothing backing it up.  He should no better than this crap.

Click bait for what lmao? It’s not like I’m redirecting people to some type of paywall LOL.

I’m just offering up some perspective.

he's just trying to get on with anybody who has connections to the team he can LOL I don't blame him strike while the iron is hot I guess

I had Stanley on the show to talk about what I believe to be a fascinating story about two brothers who played for the same team. He also had some cool stories about some of the guys from the Fox era.
