Well, IMHO, it comes down to quality of life for you and the family. I have left a dream job when I started in SCADA over .50/hour. It was pretty much principle as we had an agreement and I met my end of the bargain. When I went to Halliburton/KBR I took a cut in wage but we made out in bennies plus they sent me to training at least twice a year which put me educationally far above my goals. I was happy at either place and the family was taken care of. It sounds like you are unsure and it would be ok if you were just testing the market. Exciting times and as long as you have the support of your better half, any decision you make will be the right one.
