  1. Very weird choice, saw that too. I guess to get extra blockers in but man when they're beating your interior seems a weird move
  2. For all the shitting on our defense... They have kept us in games against the NFL's best offenses (and shitty ones like the saints)... Yah bend not break sucks to watch but with a league average offense we'd have just a couple losses total lol.
  3. Damn Scourton, nice. I think that's gonna get ruled an incompletion though.
  4. There was the attempt to Coker that drew a penalty to get us there.
  5. This is why some of us point out number of attempts and why they matter on deeper passes... But whatever. We have to try to stretch the field at some point
  6. I would absolutely pay him to come in to be our "backup" and compete in camp
  7. The stats the Op provided are not about deep balls despite the title of the thread and the tweet saying they were. That is not what PFF big time throws are.
  8. I mean he's not wrong about not really attempting deep throws.
  9. Their defense is SCARY. And if CJ catches fire, they'll be really hard to beat.
  10. In the first half of the year I did a comparison between the last few games of 2024-2025 and the first few of this year and he was clearly gunshy to throw past 10ish yards. Curious how that looks across the season. Crazy his efficiency is the same, year 3...
  11. just dudes running wide the fug open, it's crazy
  12. Excited to see it. I have a suspicion it won't fit the OP's deep ball narrative, lol
  13. Glad to see CJ having a decent day already. Would be fun to play them in the Superbowl, lol
  14. Bryce has had a bunch of what id consider good deep passes this year especially the last half but it is really bullshit and disingenuous to push a deep ball specialist narrative that isn't true and isn't necessary for him to be a success. We just need more fuging consistency from him within and between games, and while we need to threaten deep we need the intermediate passing game even more.
  15. Big time throws are NOT deep passes. As others have said. It's made up and I feel like it's pretty ridiculous. from PFF: "What is a big-time throw? Throws graded at the higher end of PFF's scale (+1.0, +1.5, and +2.0) are categorized as big-time throws." They can be anywhere, have any depth of target but a grader considered them to be really good passes, which usually means (as others have said) tight windows, beating coverage, can be great deep balls, etc. https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-week-7-signature-stat-spotlight-big-time-throws-and-turnover-worthy-plays
  16. I don't think this is his peak. For one, he's not always going to exist in a passing offense happy to just hit 3k yards. Even that aside, he'll learn routes better, get stronger, and adjust more to NFL speed in a way I think you'll see him improve quite a bit. He doesn't strike me as someone content with a season like this
  17. Whoah this was incredible. Thanks for sharing
  18. I think in the modern NFL you need a QB to produce to be successful but I have always grouped yards on the air and ground (and I do this for Bryce too) into how a QB can contribute. As long as your QB is able to move the ball and get first downs the offense will end up successful generally. Fwiw, Bryce seems to be getting more comfortable scrambling lately which is good. Obviously a delicate balance as we don't want him bailing too early but I think that's only happened once I could see (without looking at all-22) so I'm pretty happy there. I just want consistency, heh.
  19. This is the optimistic view that I'm trying to have. I think the fact he needs to throw with anticipation and in specific ways means he really needs to trust his receivers and work well with them. He's clearly got chemistry with TMac and Coker. He also had it with AT. I don't think he trusts XL at all, for good reason, lol
  20. Bring him along slowly. Practice for a couple weeks and either activate vs Tampa or for the (gasp) playoffs, depending on how he feels. Don't play him hurt. But once you're in the playoffs nothing matters about regular season performance.
  21. For the Saints, the their passing offense has generated 1565 yards (38 by T. Hill) and their rushing offense only 643 over that span. They have 7 passing TDs by Shough (1 by Hill) and 4 rushing TDs (2 by Shough). So Shough has accounted for 9 of their 12 TDs in that span (%75) and 70% of their total yards. For a rookie that is pretty impressive. Bryce is definitely contributing, though I think he's also part of why the offense as a whole struggles, given our rushing yards are pretty good, and we've all seen Canales inexplicably stop rushing near the goal line. As of the last 7 games... Panthers run game has been weaker than its height, but 3 consecutive 100 yard games and an average of 130 over the last 3 bodes well. We had a rough patch there vs the Saints, Falcons, and 49ers, but hopefully it's back on track.
