  1. We should hope that if the Texans budge and decide to blink first they're not inclined to trade Watson within the AFC so they don't have to see him every year
  2. He absolutely is. This hire was made to appease a star that doesn't wanna be there anyway. He took the job bc at 65 this is probably his first real opportunity to be a HC. The organization is a mess. Can't end well.
  3. I didn't answer it bc it really doesn't matter. I don't know, maybe one out of the seven vacancies which all passed over black people? But at this point it'd be ridiculous to force it in Houston bc they already screwed their process bc their owners is a dummy. And it'll always be looked at as a token hire regardless despite the fact that if black coaches were treated fairly and actually given fair opportunity (which is the main point of all this) we wouldn't need the rooney rule and we wouldn't be having this discussion to begin with. Not sure why that's controversial but it offends folks like Warheel who thinks everyone gets the same opportunities and rejects data which proves him wrong lol
  4. If that were true the Rooney Rule wouldn't exist lol Oh man, the denial
  5. If someone wanted to make the argument that nepotism was the biggest problem black coaches face when it comes to breaking into the HC ranks that's actually more believable than simply black coaches aren't good enough. As it stands now though the usual suspects want us to believe black coaches are being treated fairly and just aren't built to lead and it's white defensive backs getting discriminated against and well, I guess that's to be expected in a topic like this. Someone even found a way to complain about "fake handouts" and "indoctrination" while doing it. Heel still can't explain why black players and coaches disagree with his assumptions that head coaching opportunities is a merit based system when clearly it isn't. I can totally see how possibly owners might be more comfortable with white coaches and it's not a malicious thing but a subconscious bias thing, but trying to divorce race from this conversation is just weird. Or maybe it's intentional since it's a pattern for one of you.
  6. Why be defensive about black people advocating for more opportunities and make excuses for them NOT getting opportunities? Especially in a sport like football where black people are all over the place lol
  7. And you're whining about that to keep from answering the question. We know why
  8. Like, you guys think all those players and coaches are just unqualified and lying? Something doesn't add up
  9. Literally the only thing you've done here is make excuses for black coaches not getting HC jobs despite players and coaches agreeing they don't get a fair shot. Why do you think you know more than them?
  10. No, just fits a pattern of what you do. Have a nice evening
  11. Cams arm is even trying to spin me pointing out inequality and advocating for more black opportunities as bitterness, which is just weird and defensive. Again, hit dogs always holler in conversations like this.
  12. I followed it to its natural conclusion, which is you making excuses for why black people are treated unfairly in order to divorce race or bias from the equation. This isn't your first time doing this either.
  13. We get it, you think affirmative action is unfair. So easy to spot the bitter.
  14. "If you had to hire 10 people who would you hire?" Not hard to see where this is going and how its gonna be twisted into an attack on race quotas and how we need to hire the best person for the job etc (as if diverse work forces can't do a good job). I mean, if black coaches weren't good in leadership roles there wouldn't be so many black coordinators in the Super Bowl this year. And ask any of them, it isn't about ability, it's about opportunities. Go ahead, ask black coaches what they think. But nope, let's invoke Jason Sehorn to demonstrate the natural inequalities of the NFL I guess, and how it's totally a merit based system (even though NFL players and black coaches disagree with you, too). They can play all the positions and be great coordinators but can't be given the big jobs as HC and in the front office? Lol, yeah totally fair, merit based system
  15. I see you're trying to conduct a thought experiment here but if players and coaches all agree that black coaches aren't getting a fair shot, why you in such a rush to disagree and cape for owners who might only be comfortable with other white folks in leadership positions? This might be unconscious and not outwardly malicious at all, I've admitted that much. But it's weird how you're in such a hurry to justify a qualified black coach being passed over repeatedly while white coaches with less experience and shorter resumes continue to get coaching gigs and more interviews. You don't have to change the subject or bring up the lack of white DBs if you disagree, I promise that's got nothing to do with this
  16. I'm not assuming anything, you've frequently made excuses for black people not being treated fairly here and in other forums. This is a pattern with you.
  17. Despite the fact that this certain demo can master the game well enough to play it? In the tune of 70% of the league being represented in this capacity. Them being able to lead in it is where things get tricky, right? Cmon dude.
  18. Again, it's clear some of you want to divorce race from the hiring process when it's a factor, and unconscious bias can be the reason for that and it might not even be intentional. I can buy that But if you think black coaches have been afforded the same opportunities as white ones you're just kidding yourself. And yeah, when you bring up the lack of white DBs and how there isn't an outrage bc of it, yeah I'm gonna guess you're just bitter about racial conversations in general where black people advocate for themselves and maybe a lack of representation in defensive secondaries? who knows
  19. Black coaches haven't even been given the same opportunities to prove their merit. On the football fields the tape speaks for itself. And the best players play. If you wanna argue that black coaches never get the job done, be my guest, but that'd involve black coaches actually getting a fair shot, which they don't.
  20. So what you guys are saying is that even thought black people might test better for playing they aren't as good as white people as the intellectual stuff, even though black people haven't even been given the same opportunities to prove this as white people have. I mean, white players are all over college football and they get chances to play football. Black assistants don't get the same opportunities as white assistants to even test your theory. Just Lol, the bitterness
  21. "Black people can play but they can't coach, nothing strange about that at all" Alright, man
