Seems like we signed Dowdle to a 1 year rental to cover for JB (who I'm assuming we still believe in because Panthers). I doubt we draft an RB this year unfortunately.
That would be epically stupid considering the options later in this draft. Blackshart shouldn't make most team's final rosters.

Trade back would still be the best option. Getting an additional 2nd would be really welcome. It's not a non answer, it's beyond the best option if possible at this point. Grabbing a WR, FS and an edge or DL before the 3rd would be way better than anything those guys bring IMO. So many of those guys at 8 are solid but getting an additional solid guy would be so much more of a win given the state of the team and how this draft lines up.

My question would be, why collect all those picks to waste a vast majority of them on players you never intend to keep? You are basically collecting players to later cut for other teams to sign without spending a draft pick on them. I fail to see the logic.
Load up early and roll the rest over to the next year and beyond while getting better value on those picks.

It's a great draft to trade back but that's a bit drastic.
Then again talk about playing the odds lol. They would have to trade current players away to make room.
-
It is absolutely the best option but requires someone else to value one in the massive pack of teir 2 players. We need to find a Hurney chasing 'his guy'.

Trade back. There is no one at 8 that is much better than in the teens. So much meh. Getting a 2nd, early or mid, seems like the same quality of players with less hype so go double dip with 2 for thr price of 1 by trading back if possible.
-
Maybe instead of the Jets or Browns aim for a team that isn't a perpetual failure too?
These connections stink. Maybe check out what well run franchises are up to and not the HC who is still employed because Watson and his trade were a gaint barrier to any decent hire? Canales wants to do what the guy with 3 wins last year is interested in. Yikes
-
Get an extra 2nd and let them give a better pick in 2026 if it's not a mid 3rd. Teams devalue future picks too much IMO.
The trade up looks aweful. The trade back looks sexy.

I Was told you can't draft OGs in the 2nd or 3rd and expect them to be day 1 starters last year. Huh that's weird isn't it?

xl is 24 and if we dont draft a rb in this draft then we should fuging revolt. So many top tier talents that will be going in the 3rd and 4rth
Wow how did i get that so wrong. 23 not 25 in his draft. Just dumb and still needs ro learn to be a WR.
Completely agree about the rest.

Yep. This draft is deep at slot receivers too. I honestly think that's a bigger need than an outside guy.
I like it. Picking needs and strengths of the draft. Sounds great!

I think they almost have to. There will be quality backup/developmental guys available after the 3rd round.
It would be like passing up on a RB in this draft. Too deep to not spend a pick on both IMO.

It’s a bit of a different scenario. We hadn’t extended Chuba when we drafted Brooks. XL can still be a starter. You really have 3 starting WR these days. But I understand you can’t be too confident in our front office. BPA is great when your roster isn’t full of holes. Going to have to BPA and fill a gap with our first couple picks.
Brooks was a bad pick. Chubba didn't matter because it was known Brooks would miss a lot of time well ahead of the draft plus the GM signed Sanders as an AGM and pro personnel guy. It was just a bad pick and this draft is loaded with guys who can make Brooks meaningless if he ever is actually healthy. Just a bad pick and BS from every angle to justify it.
XL is 26 and trying to work on being a decent WR. That's not great but it just shows that these people can do anything and think it's great at the time.

Brian-do not be surprised if we don't draft a DE (5 tech) at some point and and edge. Here is how we would look:
Derrick Brown.......................Turk Wharton/Brown III..................Robinson
Ray is the most notable backup--I think this draft is strong at DE and we need to dip into it---Daniel Jeremiah said there are 24 starters at DE in this draft--so if we grabbed one to backup Brown and compete with Robinson, I would be happy. Ray sucked last year.
I hope you are correct

This is why you dumb bastards know more than the “experts”
There is no way in hell that we spend our 2nd round pick on a 3-4 DE when we have Derrick Brown and just paid the hell out of Wharton. Maybe if we didn’t suck, but we do. Homie didn’t do his homework.
We spent a 2nd last year on a RB that won't take meaningful snaps in 2 years now along with a WR that body catches while trading up 1 spot into the 1st so they could get a 5th year option on a 25 year old project. Don't underestimate the "experts" ability to do dumb things and think it's great.

Where was Dan's right hand man when he was trading up for an RB with a torn ACL?
He is a numbers guy. Been around some good things but I haven't seen any clues that he knows anything about the tallent or how to peice it together. Fritters was around talented people and nothing of value rubbed off on him and he came up a scout lol.
Dan better do better or that seat should start heating up.

Sure but still draft one later and watch that guy beat him out of the 90 man roster.
We are only safe from Thomas until the Raiders realize he can't block for poo either.

BPA is an oversimplification in fans minds. For teams it's everything that went into making their boards, which is a lot (some facts and some intangibles like feeling). Teams take entire positions off the board for rounds or entire drafts. You sure didn't see us take a flyer on a late round QB last year for reasons. If teams even knew who really was BPA then they wouldn't flop so hard on so many picks.
BPA is a cop out for fans to hope the people in charge do well and people on teams saying their opinions are correct. It often does not.

I'm not high on most of the moves but it does not look worse than last year.
The odds make us easy targets for this crap. It's the new normal until they prove otherwise.

The way he describes Walker gives me pause.

Wasn't he accused in HS and came into Virgina on probation which he failed out of in 1 year?

Hard to care about tallent when his availability is in question. How long until he becomes an NFL offender? Seems like a bad bet if the team is looking for talent to build upon.
Would this even be a question if the draft wasn't lacking in teir 1 guys? I don't think so.

The only NT on the roster is a 2 down guy known for getting gassed. I still hope they draft one too.

Testing Huddle Consensus pt2
in Carolina Panthers

I would literally be happy with just a 2nd in a trade back with less compensation given the weakness of this class. I do think OTs look better but with Moton at 30 mil this year and this teams unwillingness to make players uncomfortable with competition I see that as unlikely. Hopefully someone blind falls in love with Sanders. Just like in free agency it only takes one team to make it work.
