  1. Yup. I can't bank on a discount either in the modern NFL, just too rare. Just play and have fun this year IMO.
  2. Lolz Just don't be another XL. Even being a solid #2 would be a decent outcome. There are reasons he skipped combine areas and in Madden that would hurt his overall rating as a WR. Just another Panthers player that has a lot to prove so nothing new.
  3. Until proven otherwise which is also the expectation with back to back 1st at WR. If he still is at the end of the year DM is toast and should be.
  4. Can't play forever and being 300+ makes it even worse. Great dude but I just hope he can play through the year healthy. Signing 2 OGs at max market value just made this inevitable last year while the LT is looking at a new contract. It's just the NFL business side.
  5. Years of losing rubbing up agaisnt fanhoods creating a desperation to not be a continuous bottom dwellers. One thing potentially improves and it has to be the pivot point for turning the poo show around. I'm stuck at prove it or I'm going to keep laughing at it. Talk is as cheap as the Panther tickets resale value when not playing the Cowboys.
  6. It's a good start but Ian Thomas was going to have a breakout season every offseaon and didn't ever do squat. Prove it. And I hope he does. Last year and UDFA out played the guy they drafted after trading I to the first. Anything could happen and this team might desperately need him...even if they don't know it yet.
  7. Dude outplayed last years # 1 pick so let's ship him off because other guys look good in preseason...way too premature. At least wait a few games into the season to see what reality looks like. Renfrow could go down or disappear while Croker has had more recent success with this team. Hell XL is my ship off guy and that is premature. Different ceilings but Im taking the guy with hands and hunger vs thr project without hands everytime at WR. Also let the D cook. They spent a lot on that unit this offseason and the DC has to prove he isn't a dud this year. No need to panic and this is what they chose to do to help a historically bad D. Let them prove it or GTFO. (No one is expecting a top rated D but it has to improve and the guys they brought in can't fall flat again)
  8. I'm all for intensity agaisnt opponents but it's early preseason and there are only Panthers out there. Pushing and talking smack are perfectly enough at this point.
  9. I think Olsen has to wait a year but makes it. Not sure on Smitty with WR competition being steep. Luke this year or next. Not sure on TD, he could have a really tough time breaking through the competition at LBer.
  10. This just in...the defense line has a leg up on the oline is the preseason...just like every year. Some of yall are drama queens. The NFL doesn't call holding the same way game 1 as game 17. The reason? It takes time to get an oline up and running, the units and players. Ian Thomas was a stud every preseason and never showed jack in season. All of the data being collected now will have to be checked agaisnt actual season games for conformation. No need to try and cheat the process...unless you just dig drama and disappointment.
  11. They call that premature. Like waiting for results and then using analytics on that process to improve it would be a bad thing. If PFF was infallible then their grades wouldn't be so debatable at times.
  12. Meh that's what 6ths and 7ths are for. Take a shot on a project and see if you can make something from not much.
  13. It's how they drafted this year. Maybe see how it goes before jumping in more?
  14. And being better isn't close to being good either...
  15. Dave with a better GM would have had a much better chance but when paird with Morgan in our situations it's hard for me to get behind. Too much I just still think won't work. Some good more bad or meh IMO. I think Tepper actually likes Dan. I think DC needed more time, same with the guy the Jags got. Tepper hires poorly. People he likes regardless and poor overall meshing. Rhule with Bryce who isn't his type as you have stated in the past. Keeping Morgan and just hiring his friend with zero interest elsewhere for legitimate reasons. Whatever, it's what the Panthers are now and until the wins come Im not able to force my self to play pretend anymore.
  16. Not until he is done being paid. No idea when that is.
  17. Or he hires someone worth keeping. This round was leftovers and not even on the radar for other teams.
  18. Names for guys we can't sign anymore? Great comeback from a guy adding nothing but sniffing my ass on a legitimate take and has a board name of a massive joke in the NFL.
  19. Not a fan but that is a harsh situation. I hope he stays away and enjoys his next chapter in life.
  20. Replacing Dalton at 1-5 in 2 seasons isn't climbing the mount everest of roster management. Great isn't even in the conversation. Healthy and coachsble should have been with a QB 1 in his 3rd year.
  21. A backup that isn't worth playing when they need it is just stupid. 2 years in a row Dalton has shown the adlbility ro be fun for 1 game and then he is washed. Thr fun game isn't great but it's fun at least. He is washed at this point and that fine for him. He had a good career. I agree about the hail merry type for a number 2 by this point in our peocess. It doesn't even have anything to do with Bryce because he has his own thing and it's his 3rd year. It's just about wasting a valuable roster spot in a spot where healthy guys still miss time. It's just dumb when they aren't a rookie and it's a little suspect in year 2...which it certainly was last year after 1 game and the backup's body broke down again. It was a natural time to let Dalton go into retirement and they did the dumb thing IMO.
  22. He is a backup thst should never play. Good dude, he was a good player but he shouldn't still be on thr team because he adds so little. He is completely washed and this is just more fluff and self back patting.
  23. The NFL eats giant bad contracts all the time. I looked and the 3rd starts at 6.7 at pick 67 and 6.1 at pick 96. With the way the NFL cap keeps going up and how they all work the cap it really shouldn't be an issue for any team that can get 1 year out of rookies. Maybe it would cut down on teams taking giant leaps on guys they shouldn't? This would have got Hurney fired in 3 years lol
  24. It's hilarious is what it is. The second round getting rather small guaranteed contracts shouldn't be an issue. They did just do it for larger contracts in the first...
  25. It says a lot that helping is considered an unfair advantage.
