  1. Clean house with zero carry over in staff.

Bring on the prove it deals because it's volume time to turn this roster around.

Young should be in competition moving forward. They spent and wasted an entire year trying to prop that up with no meaningful movement out of all of that playing time but if he can't beat a Dalton out next year then it was never going to work anyways.

Burns tag and trade or let walk for the optics to potential free agents. If he wants to fight then just blame Fritters and move on without the black eye of an ugly tag fight to start a new GMs time here.

Purge any players that are tradable that are not part of the future. Stop with the square pegs in round hole approach and don't rely on injury prone players to be available. Guys like Sanders can be traded while we eat cap as a win-win scenario.

Focus on the lines first because they are a mess and would help everything else. figure out the scheme and then personnel.

I mean, of John Fox, Dom Capers, and all the rest are out there cashing checks.....I don't see why Ron won't go be part of the flamed out HC crowd to go get on a staff.   Too good of a human/football guy IMO to not find employment in some capacity if wants it in some token role in the good ole boy network.

Those 2 are and were better coaches. I agree with about what Ron still has I just don't think he wants to change. He always came off my way or not at all. I could see him going 100% family and never looking back. Time will tell.

think he could have some value when you face a team that doesn't fit the modern mold.  Every once in awhile you get a throw back team like the Titans have been the last couple years.    So you throw him on staff because he is a good lockerroom guy and for the random time you might need him (which is the way the NFL works).

His obsolescence on the field might kill his value off the field. I would have agreed before his time in DC but now retirement looks like his best fit. I just don't know what a cheerleader position looks like for him when the football side is that bad because if a team is playing that kind of team it really shouldn't be hard to understand and know that outdated playbook. IDK, Ron would have to change his MO and that is not really his bag.

We will give him another year.  Almost have to. And if it doesn't work out, then we should have another high pick the following year.

We should but also he has been on the bust path since preseason. Tepper is in uncharted territory now. He has always kept a holdover and carried over issues from the last crew. He is embarrassed and unpredictable so I really don't know what comes next. It's not like he will suddenly have figured out how the NFL works over this season so the full field of possibilities exist right now and that includes Bryce taking the fall as a bust. It's not like any backup or jag starter couldn't do better. Baker is in the playoffs lol

Edit: locked in at a top 10 pick anyways. Too little talent. It would take several miracles to make that not happen.

  5. He only got an extra year because the new owners needed time to adjust.

Mixed feelings on Ron. Highs and lows. The more I think about it he is a dinosaur and I'm not even sure he has consulting value. He is still living in the 80s and evey year he has made himself more irrelevant in the NFL.

It's not so much that they don't work out for the next guy as it is that poor play caused the original guy to be fired.  That being said, given that Bryce is one year in and a first round pick, he will almost definitely have a shot to make it.

Unless Tepper Bridgewaters him in another ego trip...

Mixed feelings on that. I really don't want to have to watch Young play again but that is still a crap move unless the compensation is decent. For an early 2nd and maybe an additional 5th? Lol sure. I don't see anyone paying that but sure.

Also a tough thing for Bryce. The guy who originally pounded the table for him and was his biggest advocate is now gone.

An even bigger hurdle to climb appears as not many QBs handpicked by a former, fired regime tend to work out for the next one.

Yup! The only one in house anymore tied to Young is Tepper and anyone brought in doesn't have to give it more than the old college try, like Payton in Denver with Wilson. I never had a problem giving new staff a year if they spent it building the foundation up. Rhule didn't know what that was and wasted it trying 3 times in a row. Reich never had the chance because they immediately traded the future away and went all in on a QB that wasn't a franchise QB on a team that in fact wasn't a QB away in it's build.

Bryce will get his shot but there should be legitimate compitition next season and that really doesn't bode well for him.

It gives me some hope that as bad as he’s been as an owner, Tepper is still trying to make moves needed to win. The Jets are keeping Joe Douglas who has as bad a record as Fitterer for another season. If everyone here was correct and Fitterer was just a plant to feed Tepper’s ego and let him be the actual GM then he wouldn’t have made this move.

It's Tepper so I will reserve any hope until he gives me legitimate reasons for hope. Trying to make moves was never one of Tepper's faults, making good moves and having good management are. We will see. Anyway it drops not having Fitterer as GM at least opens the door to improvement.

  9. Sounds like a good way to give us all reasons to hate a former player that is well liked.

Just hire someone else and clean house. There are no good answers inhouse and there is nothing good worth carrying over into a new regime. Say good luck and hopefully he goes on to a competent organization to continue his career inprovement, not the career implosion awaiting him as a GM here.

This next coaching hire doesn't matter.  He'll be here a season and a half, tied to Bryce.  When BY is a clear failure they'll ditch this coach and draft a QB again.

Sorry.  I wish I could see it differently, but I don't.

1 and done again if it's still 'all in on Bryce' and not 'hope we can turn Bryce around'. One is going to be another #1 pick with more of the same and the other is going to be Payton in Denver getting what they really want after 1 year of laying their foundation and biding their time.

  11. MH wasn't so bad when he came back as 2.0, Rhule deserves a 3rd year, Fitterer deserves a shot not under Rhule and Frank had an all star cast. The new one is Dan Morgan will save us?

Burn it all down and finally learn from past mistakes. I have seen his personnel choices and I am good thanks. He should have stayed with Bean longer or gone to another good team to keep learning. It stinks but if you are still thinking that this is an organization that brings the best out of people's potential then all I can say is where is that true?
