  1. LoL. Peppers and Gross were elite. Burns and Luvu are not. Luvu is good but not great. Burns should be traded for any picks they can get.

Top FAs, or any really, on bloated contracts fixes nothing for this team. Find prove it guys that are this year's Luvu from 2021 and draft well. Anything else is a hard fail of them not learning a damn thing and still trying to fix what is obviously broken vs building something longterm not broken.

  2. I hope they get those 2 first or he refuses to show up if they can't trade him. Him on a long term deal is worst case scenario...which means it will happen and it will be another hilarious epic fail. I just don't see why anyone would spend 2 1st on Burns. He just isn't worth it.

Again, players do not care about winning when it comes to free agency. they want guaranteed money and comfort. Evans could have gone to the Chiefs if he really wanted to win,  but guess what, he just wanted to stay in Tampa and get the bag

Did you not read about the part of using the Panthers to get a better deal with other teams? They can still get paid and not be on a 2 win team.

  4. This team will be ruthlessly used to up FA's prices with other teams this year...if their agents are smart.

Why would you overpay someone who doesn't want to win? And yes that is what coming here would mean. It's lose-lose on the top tier guys. They should be targeting guys who need to prove themselves or need playing time or both. The top shelf guys are a waste of time.

  5. So Morgan is as brain dead as his last boss...

Some people never learn. Trying to turn that guy into a foundational piece of the roster is a waste of time. But this will be the year he finally proves how amazing he is...

I hope he holds out. That is about the best he can bring to the table at this point. It would be hilarious and just speed up the fall of this build. Win-win. And yeah those idiots are still not ready for a serious rebuild.

  6. I honestly miss guys who would just refuse to talk to the media. Lynch was the last I can remember but I think Payton's oline wouldn't either back in the day in Indy.

Given his pedigree I am guessing this is a strategy he is playing, whatever it really is. When I read about what Williams is doing that sounds like a big mess and a hard pass, this isn't that. I bet he turns down visits too. Must be nice to be able to work that system.

We've been trying to win now our entire existence. How's that worked out? This team needs rebuilt from the ground up. Until they commit to that they will always be a bad team with bad leadership. They don't have to try to tank, they earn the label of the worst team in the nfl. One player will not change that. I suggest that if you cannot stomach crappy football you just do not watch the Panthers.  Embrace the suck because it's not changing anytime soon.

They are still trying to win this year, it's just around a terrible QB and little else. They are trying to win every year. They are playing with Burns at 27 a year vs the 30ish he wants. Tanking would be trading that mess and then training a rookie in a junk year. Just getting a mediocre QB and pulling it up to 6-8 wins is a lot more realistic then thinking they will be able to tank and then do anything with that capital given the circumstances. The damn GM got his job after being an assistant putz on a 2 win team because the whiffy owner liked him. Even unintentionally tanking still ends up with the same idiots that did that magical feat suddenly turning it around and profiting from an unintentional tank. There just is no win there.

I haven't been watching the crap on the field outside of 1 game I went to in Tampa anyways, it's unwatchable. I have been laughing while watching it all burn, that is what value the Panthers bring these days. It's peaceful and fun. Not even mad anymore, I am laughing too hard and enjoying that show because the football isn't viewable anymore. If this team wasn't so poorly run for long enough to not be able to pretend it's not then you would be 100% right but then it would also be closer to mediocre regardless of the busting QB because the rest of the roster wouldn't be such a joke either. I'm embracing nothing but a mental lawn chair and a stick with a marshmallow on it to roast over the soul of what used to be the panthers that just look like a heap of melting plastic on fire at this point.

Hell no! I'd rather ride with Andy Dalton this year and start over in 2025 than to see that goober in a Panthers jersey for 1 minute.

As if starting over with another #1 will be any real difference, different crew same crap since 2019. Might as well start trying to win now and stop pretending that these people do much good until they actually start doing that. At least if they went in that direction the football would be somewhat watchable vs watching them try to tank when they probably can't even do that right either.

  9. If you are going to admit Bryce is what he looks like then find a better option. Wilson looks headed in the sub 3000 yards area permanently while Bryce didn't look like he could break through that. Hell go sign Baker first.

  10. Working out won't fix Young's amazing lack of physical ability. He isn't quick, he doesn't have a good arm and those two really make being small that much more of an issue.

Young should be made fun of, he is the laughing stock of QBs and the NFL really right now even if it was a low effort hit piece. Miami signing Tua to a giant contact or the QB from USC making a giant ass out of himself in the draft process would sure help Young but as it stands he is a pinata in an extra small jersey. All those years of laughing about the Jets and Browns doing garbage moves and people here expect this team to get a pass because it's their team? I sure as hell would be laughing at Houston if they ended up with Bryce. I still will read it latter because laughing at Young is a lot more fun the believing he isn't a bust.

  11. He promoted a GM that helped tank the team because he likes him, just like all of the other failures he has personally liked. Sure, believe what you want but it sure looks like he is just learning to make another kind of mess which is absolutely more of the same. Prove it or it's just more of the same.

So far? Nope. Show me a complete house cleaning on the next go round and we can talk actual change. This one is more of a face lift sadly.

  12. Yes. A 5th round pick that is healthy has a better shot at contributing. Get something now before he goes on IR again and they get nothing. He hasn't even played 50% of the games his entire career and . If they can get a 5th just take it. He played in 6 games last year, hell take a 7th at this point.

  13. You don't need to draft a guy to have Young insurance. I really don't think Bryce can beat out Dalton yet. If it's going that bad then sit Young, let Dalton play some in the middle and then play Young again at the end. That is likely a top 10 pick anyways and very well could be a top 5 easily because it's not like Dalton can last an entire year. Just break up the suck, give Young yet another opportunity late and just go draft a QB with NFL physical ability or sign something better in free agency.

If Bryce is near as bad as he was in 23 then it's hard to justify playing him the entire year if they are actually trying to build something here if he is playing that poorly. If we did have a WR that could improve how would we know if it's 23ish Young again? Young isn't the only guy who needs to be evaluated and to improve and there is 16 games of film. If he isn't growing by week 6 to 8 then it's a real long shot it will ever happen.
