If they don't meet his demands, it is the Texans who stand to lose a lot more than Deshaun Watson. Remember, they just gave him a $30 mil signing bonus.

If they play hardball, all they will achieve is a spot in the dumpster of the NFL for the remainder of time.

And given the fact they have 'expertly' managed their draft picks, their choices to acquire a playable QB while Watson sits is bleak. For a new GM and HC, what fun times.

  2. We are not negotiating against Houston, we are negotiating against any other team he would accept a trade to. If he won't go to the Jets, it doesn't matter what the Jets would offer because of the trade clause. The million dollar question is who are we negotiating against? Maybe the Jets, the Dolphins and who?

The price should be determined by where he is willing to accept, not what Houston request. If this was a traditional trade, this trade scenario sounds right. The fact Huston has fugged up and made an unreconcilable situation while signing a contract with a player with a trade clause puts all the power in Watson's corner. No idea where he is willing to go. Otherwise, Houston gets nothing and doesn't have enough picks from bad team management to just sit him for a year and move on with a good replacement option while they choke on that contract.

Pick #8 and a player unless another team steps up and he actually wants to go there. Then we can talk about multiple 1sts. Even if we don't get him, I hope Houston gets robbed lol. They completely deserve it. I hope Watson understands this and really gives it back to them. Maybe he has the money already and really doesn't care. It's going to be fun because even if we lose it won't be like what Houston is set up for.

I think an elite QB on a rookie contract is the single most valuable asset in the NFL. That's why I think Lawrence/#1 overall would command more. You take the risk of him not planning out, but you have the huge potential reward of having an elite QB on the cheap for the next five years. That's HUGE.

That is under the "I'll only go to Carolina" theory. I HOPE that happens but I am willing to bet that Watson has more than one place he would like to go.

I do still believe he will go for less than the media is predicting.

That's under the great deal for us and I don't care about Huston price. The fact is that some of the options Huston has here are terrible for Watson. He may be OK with that but again, not for 3 first. They fugged up and we have a chance of not fixing it for them by doing this bad deal. I wouldn't even do 2 first regardless. Watson has the power here, put Huston in a corner and squeeze.

Schefter reported something similar last week. It didn’t matter who the coach was, he was gone. We will see though, there is a long time between now and the start of the new league year, a lot can change.

Absolutely. I thought a HC might could bridge the gap but Easterby is the turd in the punch bowl. Going to be interesting to watch for sure.

What do you mean "this good"?  Its been 2 practices.

Has a strong arm and a solid brain. For any QB with those two things, they would need something negative to push them out of the first. Too small, injuries, toxic personality or a noodle arm would be reasons reasons viable QB fall and even then we see guy go in the first with concerns.

  7. All these deals seem like better deals for thr clubs trading away then thr clubs trading for. Why the hell would he want Goff if he isn't a free agent? Even then it's filling a space for a year and then do it all over again.

If he was a free agent, ok. Its an option if we fail elsewhere. Trading for him? Hell no to him and his contract.

A lot of day 1 picks invested in that oline, am I right?? Lol

You need to go look at their injury report. Some of those are backups.

    LT Fisher - 1st

    OG Osemele - 2nd

    RT Schwartz - 2nd

So that's three injured starters that were drafted in the first 2 rounds through out the year keeping to the idea they value good players that were drafted high, followed by solid backups who were not. Holding the backups as some kind of example to follow is incorrect.
