LG had stated 7-8 wins, so I just kept what he had went with. The team is going to ride with Young next season for better or worse. People need to accept that and move on. Hopefully, that will also mean either Young is the guy or he leads the team to another top 3 pick.

Edit: Going back to mediocrity is not something that needs to happen but I think most fans would be happy with even though that is sad.

If he plays like he did in 23 then there is zero good justification for playing him past week 6 to 8. A first year HC that does that is a loser and shouldn't make it past their first year as HC. Young shouldn't have this last year so yeah Reich was right about that. I don't see how the team is worse off after another year like that because picking 1st vs 5-10 isn't worth it. They won't pull a Bucs in 24 with a Baker signing, they just don't have enough tallent even if they can finally sign a good HC (that is also very unlikely). Forcing Young to play the entire year just for another #1 pick just feels like a Madden move that is unjustifiable in real life...as much as I would like that to be the answer. Just be one and done with Morgan and whatever idiot he helps hire.

So Dan should turn down the opportunity just to force Tepper to hire someone else? Forgo the money and a chance to run the team that drafted him?

    (not a Dan endorsement, btw)

Lol. If Dan didn't like how Tepper ran his team he wouldn't have stayed. He signed up for it just like he was on board with building the worst team of 2023. There are all facts.

Why are we making this harder than it is?  With Tepper in the building can you really evaluate the people he hires?  He just overrules their decisions with his own, unless they do what he was already planning to do.  Does that mean Dan will be good or bad?  Who knows? But how can you blame him?  We have no idea what decisions he’ll actually be allowed to make.

He took the job after being the assistant GM. That's on him any way you look at it. He is fine with all of that or he wouldn't still be here. And yes it also points to Dan not being very good or Tepper wouldn't want him, use every one of Tepper's hires as an example of this fact.

Riding with the vet and winning 7-8 games would also make a lot of fans feel better about themselves. But as you said, it wouldn't help the team find an actual QB answer.

A vet winning 7-8 games seems like the stretch. Even with Dalton starting as many games as he physically could this year it's still a 5 win team. Now spending big in free agency on a QB or god forbid a frigging trade is absolutely the worst addition to the situation. But some Dalton like vet? I mean worst case scenario you do a Baker @ 4 mil a year deal and get into the playoffs and hope to have hired the offensive guy who made that possible before they are snagged away. Even in that scenario there is more competency than this franchise has sniffed in years. That wouldn't be a complete loss. Just saying

  5. IDK personally, seems tactless but a reality of the NFL on many levels. Dan signed up for what he is about to do. If it's that bad then it's earned and if it is then it is what it is. No one stopped people from calling Frittters a fat idiot for a ban, and he was that actually. Like I get the cheap reactionary shot ban (all emotion and zero logic/facts). 1 year ago a regular member of this board that now supports Morgan was also saying he wouldn't do his bro like that because they were so close even on the family level that he wouldn't take the interim job. It's pandemonium in Pantherland and attacking poor Dan is not what IGAF about at this point. So I guess what I am saying is I will enjoy your bans when they happen and just attack Dan for the crappy job he has done and looks to do in the future. Keep pounded

Now the question i wonder, was hiring dan morgan somehow a move made to protect bryce or was it because he was the best man for role??? A new GM and coach from outside the organization has no ties to the current roster. So it less hassle on Tepper to have to deal with new staff wanting to make changes. Guess we will see

Morgan was team Bryce and helped build last years team in lockstep with Fritters. Pretending he isn't more of the same would require blinders. Yes, somethings will change but it's going to be the same show Tepper has put on his entire ownership except he keeps figuring out how to make it worse each year. Same as Fritterer, a well liked guy who performed poorly here before getting the 'he deserves a chance' treatment.

Expect a HC that is fanatical about Bryce because guess who can't be wrong about Bryce regardless of that first year of film? Yep, Morgan just stepped into that.

  7. I'm just happy the Titans took the Callahan bullet.

Yep it's an offensive league and having someone tied to the house that can run an offense is way more valuable than defense. True in Buffalo and true up in Philadelphia. Defensive guys can't afford to keep OCs that are not working out because they can't step in and run it while they can't keep the good ones for more than 2 years without them getting a shot somewhere else. That is incredibly tough while the 49ers pick up a Wilks from the scrap heap after losing Ryans and just keep going with a top 10 D(3/8 under Wilks vs 1/1 under Ryans).

Morgan was hired because he was team Bryce. No way Dave would hire a guy who would want to move in a different direction.

This hire confirms a lot of those types of things.

No way to spin this but he is a yes man on team Tepper. Nothing changes but the names.

  9. We do know just like we knew about Frank, Fritters and Rhule. We all knew and we either pretended to not know or just called it what it was. He worked here last year so we know more than the other 3 and it's not good. Tepper kept a great ex-player that is the new trainwreck. Nothing changes and the only real question left is can it still get worse because that is the trend.

I remember PTI and Around the Horn. I was like... wait, do people really actually watch this poo? WHY???  Who cares what these idiots think on the hot take topics of the day?

LOL I was wrong. It was First Take and those 2 clowns while PTI/Around the Horn were the 2nd dose of that crap. PTI was the nice version of First Take that tried to class up the moron approach to skremo sport show.

Back when I was in college my TV pretty much never came off of ESPN. It was just always there in the background. I didn't pay much attention to the screamo shows, mainly just SportsCenter. But then YouTube basically killed SC so there was nothing left on ESPN for me but live sports. I can't imagine honestly watching those people scream at each other and just drop constant obviously thirsty as fug hot take after hot take. Expand that same statement to Fox News, CNN, MSNBC, etc. Cut all of that poo out of your life and watch your mental health improve.

IMO it was more fun when half the day was re-runs of classic SC vs the crap they put on there now. PTI was the first garbage hot-take show I can remember and now that is all I have seen them do for little bit I have caught since I walked away. I always thought the scremo (lol) crap helped them cut the re-runs and like you said SC's was killed off leaving just the scum to fill the void. Hell even when they host a game it's trash it's that bad.

Good point. Kind of hard for me to avoid it because I watch sports 80% of the time. Maybe I need to get back on my Netflix n Chill.

Cutting out those fools was a life improvement for me. If you are getting worked up at all by their complete BS then it's a good hint to try it. I've been there years ago.

Too bad because it used to be fun but then they let the loud idiots in the room and now that is all that is left.

Which is why I said you don't watch ESPN.

Maybe the real problem is that you still watch ESPN and not Allen or anything anyone really thinks about him that isn't from hot take for central?

Allen's work stands by itself. He is a good QB. ESPN is and has been trash so if they are comparing him to Payton/Manning then not watching that garbage might be the answer you really need?

Oh, I don't disagree.  Reid > McD and I don't think it's that close.  Which roster would I rather have? Give me the Bills today vs KC today.

    100%

I was about to say we will see how the Bills do when they have to cut that 20 mil out of the rest of the roster to actually pay Allen this season. Love McD but I am taking Reid every time in the postseason. If the Bills move on from McD they have a chance at a SB but they need to move now IMO.

  15. 3 minutes ago, CRA said:

yeah, see what you did there.  Your argument is essentially you acting like those that disagree with you....believe things they don't.

Josh Allen isn't a perfect player.  The Bills however do not have a QB issue.  That isn't why they went home.

Bills just needed to be healthy and they are in the AFCCG.  But that's sports.   You give them a healthy D and their #2 WR.  They are beating KC last night.

True until the beating KC part. KC is better coached team and that has been the difference everytime they beat the Bills in the playoffs. It's really nitpicky because they are both good teams but at that level KC is a better coached team.

My objection was to lumping all defensive guys in with condiment man. These 30th rated QB types don’t interest me at all. Including ours.

You don’t think we are going to end up with a coach that is basically the same?

I sort of think that if you go into that coach’s interview without the whole thing being about getting Young weapons and protection, you aren’t getting a second look.

I agree with that. Ohh our HC will be worse than Mayo, that seems like a lock. Mayo will still head the 3rd best team in that division and leaning on Mac will keep them in 3rd place. The Panthers are more in the Jets position, a hard 4th no matter all the loud and expensive moves they make.

Yeah I lumped them all together because most can't take that step away from being deffensive guy over HC. Rivera and Fox both made it to a SB but couldn't get over the hump or return as HC. A defensive HC that can step away from the mentality and become more offensive in their tendancies is rare, incredibly rare. BB did it for a bit but he reverted in his last years with Brady.

I think you nailed why it happens. Mac is great, blah blah blah, winning D, blah blah blah, super bowl lol. That is a coach who will get fired for that exact reason, just like they will here when it becomes an imposible goal to reach. Can't make a superstar out of a dud but owners arw still looking to a Brady to save them regardless if that was an exceptional exception. Hell Purdy just rolled the clock back on another one popping out 10 years from now.

  18. Meh, BC isn't in that first group. He is a backup that gets unjured too often. So just Tremble and Hubbard.

I don't know what has been worse between the player evaluations and the team building. There is no cohesive meshing on the team building side with their personnel and the player evaluations have been trash. That explains how you end up with a bust that is Young as the rotten cherry on top.

Keeping anyone from last year is a hard fail.

  19. Free agent. A drafted guy is ok but just get a younger Dalton and get through the 2024 season.

Anyone saying just play Young is basically saying don't try and win. Play him a couple of games? Sure for a few but it won'ttake many to confirm what this year already showed, it's obvious what he is and doing that for another 16 games is as bad as publicly tanking regardless of draft outcome.

Get a free agent and be ready to play them into a top 10 pick. This team is gutted, poorly strung together mess. Looking at some of their GM options that may not change.
