  1. God I hope we hire him for the huddle meltdown alone. Zod will need to invest in more hamsters. This place will burn
  2. General Excitement. Rivera was a great candidate with a track record of success at multiple stops leading Defenses to top 5 finishes multiple times. I think he was in the top 2 in terms of who the fanbase wanted between him and Harbaugh, and even many Harbaugh stans were fine with the hire as a consolation prize.
  3. I'll call it "Panthers hire Steve Wilks: The fruit stripe gum result"
  4. Steichen was my original want this hiring cycle, but after watching some videos of him and how he addresses the team, dude might not have the HC "it" factor. Guy understands the X's and O's really well, but from the limited clips I have seen of him, he doesn't seem like much of a people person.
  5. For full emersion, please press play: Previous Threads:
  6. Yeah but the mystery door could be anything. It could even be a car, European vacation and $50,000.
  7. Our Next HC could sacrifice a goat before every game on the 50 and I would not even bat a damn eye if we ended up with the dub.
  8. Reich was only the WR coach in AZ for one year in 2012. That's... not really his fault? And he failed in SD partly because Mike McCoy was the HC. He went to Philly and turned Carson Wentz into an MVP Candidate and turned Nick Foles into Big Dick Nick. Then went to Indy where he didn't get to hire his staff initially because McDaniels pulled out after hiring some of the staff, then turned around and took Andrew Luck to the postseason, then Luck Surprised Retired right at the beginning of the next season so there was no replacement in place so they scrambled with the Brisket. Dude was super unlucky up in Indy. He was fantastic by all accounts up in Philly. SD, sure, not great, but also Mike McCoy was the one running the show and that's bad for everyone involved. Plus, you know, he had a top 10 passing offense both the two years he was the OC there. AZ he was a WR coach. It's obviously his fault the offense wasn't elite. I'm not following your narrative, especially when he has been a part of a top 10 offenses in 4 of the past 6 years, and has created great passing offenses with halfway decent QBs in every stop he's had some control over the offense.
  9. Right? He didn't really have a chance to develop a young guy. Signed on thinking he had Andrew luck for the next 5 years, then he retired out of the blue, right before the season started so they scrambled and held the team together with duct tape and Jacoby Brisset for a year. Then they got old man Rivers to take them to the playoffs, then they had Carson Wentz, and this past year they've had the corpse of Matt Ryan. All things considered, they did alright. Much like Wilks. I think Reich has the higher upside and would be able to put together a better staff. I'm not against it by any means.
  10. Pinned this one because stuff is happening again and this is cleaner (for now)
  11. I know it sucks waiting and speculating but I'm glad they're actually doing their due diligence this time around. Gun to my head, it's coming down to Reich or Wilks. And after this month long process of trying to find out who the HC is, I'll be content with whoever they choose, because it will be obvious that that person has a plan/good idea for a staff in mind.
  12. Only so many ways you can talk about something big that doesn't change over the course of a month.
  13. Counter Argument: Steelers: They had their backup in Trubisky starting and we let them methodically march down the field letting them do whatever they wanted multiple times. Wasn't so much the team wasn't executing, that to me says the gameplan was weak. Baltimore: Sure, that was a close one and we just didn't have the gas in the tank in terms of talent to take us home. Defense played really well that game. Bengals: Woof Bucs: 3 times we let Mike Evans score long TDs on the right side of the field while one on one with no help over the top. If that doesn't scream inability to adapt, I don't know what does.
  14. I don't really want Wilks to be the HC but I can't pin the Ram's game on him. They had just fired Rhule and Snow, that is a significant shakeup to the team. Still trying to get his footing that game. He gets a pass from me there. The Pittsburgh, Bucs 2, Baltimore, and Bengals we all got outcoached. Just realized we got swept by the AFCN this season, closest game being the one rhule coached. If Wilks' team identity was tough and physical, then the division to prove that against was the AFCN and we failed miserably at that.
  15. you will get 200 more pages of absolutely no substance and like it.

  17. As things Currently stand, we have interviewed the following: Steve Wilks Jim Caldwell Frank Reich Sean Payton Shane Steichen Ken Dorsey Mike Kafka Ejiro Evero Kellen Moore The following have spurned us and we are now big mad at them: Ben Johnson Demeco Ryans Jerrod Mayo We have requested interviews with the following but they have not happened yet: Kellen Moore (Scheduled Tuesday) A Summary of the first thread: Fit said it would be a small pool of candidates* *It was not a small pool of candidates Wilks interviewed and no one knows for sure who he would hire as OC but Holcomb would stay as DC We requested interviews from damn near everyone with a pulse who is a young up and coming OC Ben Johnson, local hero, decided Detroit is better and will stay with the lions next year Fanbase had a collected sad about this and now Ben Johnson sucks. Harbaugh used us to get more money from Michigan rippadon is big mad. Loves Harbaugh almost as much as Carson Strong Wildcard Weekend happens Stock up: Kafka, Ryans, Moore Stock Down: Dorsey No Change: Wilks, Reich, Caldwell Sean Payton has entered the chat Fanbase divided. Lines in sand are drawn. Buttholes across the fanbase pucker to the same shape as the one on Payton's face. Speculation about speculating speculators regarding us hiring him. We would have to give up more draft capital to get him than any other team since we are within the division We interviewed some seasoned candidates like Vic Fangio to be the DC in the event we hire a young OC to be the next HC Fanbase is collectively OK with this. Tragic death of Anton Walkes of Charlotte FC temporarily pauses the search over the weekend Props are given to Tepper for doing the right thing Division Weekend happens Stock up: Steichen, Ryans, Payton Stock Down: Moore, Dorsey, Kafka No change: Wilks, Caldwell, Reich Broncos seem to really want Payton too. Payton is weighing his options between all available openings because he can. Round two of interviews would happen next week. A shorter summary of the search: Link to the last thread: Please keep the discussions about the potential coaches, hirings, rumblings, stumblings, and bumblings.
