Massive overpay. Why didn't they just pay A J. Brown?

One thing that has struck me the last couple of years watching NFL games is just how bad OL play is across the board. There's a handful of truly good OLs and everyone else is varying degrees of suck. I honestly think that's why every team is transitioning more and more to offenses that focus on getting the ball out of the QB's hand fast. It's not so much of a choice but a necessity.
It's also why the teams with good OLs tend to be among the better teams in the league. It's a bigger edge to have a good OL than it's ever been.

The fights don't bother me. We need some of that.
The complaining... well, at least he'll be in sync with the fan base

He's good against the run, but so-so as a pass rusher IIRC. It depends on the money for me.

One of the most overrated Panthers ever.

He's an upgrade over Luvu; better in coverage and younger.

Wonder if we're looking into bringing back Hassan Reddick? I know the Eagles are looking to trade him.

Did we learn nothing from the Miles Sanders signing?

We aren't trading for Higgins yall
This makes sense, actually. If we are interested (you have to assume we probably are) then why not wait until next offseason when he's on the market? Cincy won't re-sign him; they're looking to make a SB run this year and hoping to get one last year from him.
Unless he outright refuses to play for them and forces a trade I don't think they'll trade him, but they're not looking to keep him long-term either. So he'll very likely be available next year in free agency, at which point we'll have plenty of cap space and hopefully something resembling an actual functional NFL offense to put him in.

The only reason we weren't getting blasted every Sunday last year is because our D was at least decent enough to keep us from getting utterly embarrassed every week. It looks like we're about to be like Vandy in the SEC this season. Just hopeless and everybody knows it.
You're not wrong, but the end result was still 2 wins. The strategy seems to be to sacrifice some of our defensive strength in order to build the offense up around Bryce - or for whoever we draft in '25 if Bryce doesn't take a big step forward this year.
And honestly, it's about all we can do right now. We're dead in the water until we get QB figured out so why bother trying to field a top-10 defense if the end result is still going to be 2 wins?
Remember the infamous Tepper interview after the draft last year where he talked about not having to spend a bunch on receivers because Bryce is a point guard and can move the ball "with routes" so we could spend more on defense?
As dumb as Tepper sounded saying that it's clear that was a strategy that he was sold on by someone - probably Scott Fitterer - and it was a flawed plan to begin with.
This seems like the opposite; get your offense right and find a good DC who can get more out of less. It's the approach most good teams are using these days.
We'll see if it works here.

Planning your draft out to force picks by position always works well.
Dave, do you think you'll draft a corner?
This.
But, to be fair, the draft this year looks like it fits our needs pretty well so we should be able to go BPA at a position of need without reaching.

Pencil in a center and WR in round 2
I would not be surprised if they do take Jackson Powers-Johnson at #33 if he's there or Sedrick Van Pran in the 3rd.

I don't like this as much as the Hunt signing because Lewis isn't as good, but he's a hell of a sight better than anyone we put at guard last year, especially if Corbett is now moving to center.
I love the focus on the OL. This is how you re-build an offense.

Interesting. He does have experience there.
What still needs to happen for you to be genuinely excited about next year?

Add a couple of solid/good pass rushers + get at least one impactful WR in the draft.
