When I watch Walker, I see a guy flying all over the field making a significant impact. That's what I want out of a top 10 pick.

I just hope they know how to use him properly. If they try to make him an off-ball linebacker that blitzes sometimes it'll be a waste, IMO. He needs to play EDGE, not linebacker.

Doesn't bode well for their confidence in Leggette IMO. Very similar profile.

Very little reason to have too much confidence in Legette, IMO. He cares more about catching rodents than he does catching footballs. Another player who will probably make a fortune as a podcast host/personality after they flunk out of the league.

  3. Traded all the way down with Buffalo. Picked up their 1st rounder next year and then traded both 2nd rounders to move back into the 1st for Emeka Egbuka. Also traded up into the late 2nd for another pass rusher.

I love our traditional looks. Silver Helmet, Black Jersey, Silver Pants/Silver Helmet, White Jersey,White Pants.

The problem with the silver pants, is Nike doesn't do the shiny silver fabric anymore, so our pants are now grey, and it does not look as good.

That said, I HATE all these weird combos we've started doing. The white jersey looks terrible with everything but white pants.

I do like some of the blue and black mix and match, especially with the black helmet.

That said, if were going to screw around with the uniforms every week like it's madden, I don't understand why we don't just do a full redesign to something that would look better with weekly tinkering.

All that said, I'm an old head who prefers the classic looks with some of the wilder stuff for special occasions.

I agree with you on the weird combos. I still can't believe they actually thought white jerseys/silver pants was a good thing to try.

I feel like if they're going to do all these random combos to change up the look they need to just do a full re-design and get it over with.

I maintain that black helmets/blue jersey/black pants would be the best home combo we could have.

How many are? We are not talking about a 1st round guy here. In the 2nd he's a great pick. There's going to be a run on defense after the oline has been picked clean. That should be over in the top half of the 1st round. The second will be picking through what's left of the best defensive players. I'm not sure about the WR class and when the bulk of those guys will start to be picked through.

True. I do like him as a player and I do feel like ILB is our most overlooked need right now. Everyone points to EDGE and WR, but I do not feel comfortable at all going into the season with Josey Jewell and Trevin Wallace as our starters and the guy we signed from the Rams as our only real depth.

If he gets to 4, I'm about sure Dan and crew will be tempted to go up for him. It's ideal enough a dro back for the Patriots to still land their tackle. Luke you said tho, would the price be too steep but he'd instantly turn the front 7 into a menace.

Considering our track record in the 2nd round I feel like it may be well worth giving that pick up if it means getting an elite edge rusher at #4.

  7. The closer we get to the draft the more I wonder if we'd consider trading up with the Pats if Abdul Carter falls to #4.

They need OL badly and our pick at #8 is in the perfect spot to get one of the top tackles.

It'd probably take our 2nd rounder to get it done, which wouldn't be ideal but to be able to land Carter it might be worth it, especially if we can trade our 3rd + one or both of our 4ths to move back up into the 2nd later on.

    Something like this...

  8. This is true. In general you want to get at least the following out of every draft for it to be considered a good class:

     - 1 quality (above average to elite) starter
     - 1 solid starter
     - 1 solid backup
     - 1 contributor/backup/special teamer

Obviously it depends on how many picks you have, but we checked all four boxes in 2021 with Horn, Chuba, Tremble and Christensen.

There are exceptions, of course. I'd argue that 2011 was a great draft for us despite missing on every player we drafted except Cam because the one guy we did hit on became our franchise QB (the same will likely hold true of 2023 if Bryce ends up becoming that guy long-term) but that is a good general gauge for how good any particular draft class is.

  9. Tried something different with this one. Traded up with the Patriots; I gave up our 2nd + 4th + next year's 3rd for #4 + their 6th rounder. I also traded back up into the 2nd for a WR.
