I had an someone in the know, tell me once that Michael used to piss himself intentionally, so noone would want to tackle him.
That... might actually work lol

A half-decent backup QB would be nice.

I'm reminded of a quote from the John Fox era before a Falcons game:
"We're going to run it until we get a first down, no passes."
This Falcons team is also bad at stopping the run, and Sam is good at throwing interceptions. Seemed like an obvious plan to run it like crazy and it worked.
lol I remember that game. We got a 1st down on the first play.

I've been doing a lot of research on Kenny Pickett this week and maybe I'm just smoking the hope-ium, but he looks like a legit NFL QB prospect. He's certainly got the arm and accuracy and some mobility as well.
There was a play against Miami where he was forced to roll out and found his receiver in the endzone for a TD that was as good as any throw you'll see on Sunday. I wasn't really expecting to be as impressed with Pickett as I have been.
He may well be that guy who vaults into the top-5.

Any chance Grayson McCall enters the '22 draft?

Rhule might well be able to coach, but we'll never know without an NFL-caliber OL and QB.
IMO, Rhule's biggest weakness has been in his approach to free agency, since we know he has final say over Fit and likely over Hurney last year too.

Yeah but whats a "competent vet" in your eyes? Teddy B would probably fit that category, and we didn't exactly light the scoreboard up last year either. Although it WAS dramatically better than the shitshow they're trotting out there for the last month. I think there is plenty of blame to go around on all sides.
True, but it's not just the QB. The OL is awful, too. It's tough to gauge any OC with this kind of awful talent to work with at both the OL AND QB.

This is why I'm not jumping on Joe Brady's back about the offense. I'm not saying he isn't part of the problem but he's also working with one of the worst starting QBs in football.

When's the last time we had a good OL? Not a decent one, but one where we can honestly say every player on it was at least average and at least a couple were better than that?
Even in 2015 our tackles were suspect, as we saw in SB50.
I'm thinking... 2008?

I've definitely lost a lot of faith in Rhule these last 3 weeks or so. We're seeing issues right now that we didn't see last year, which is really odd.

He's overrated. Solid, not spectacular and certainly not elite

It's bad when the guy playing out of position and the rookie making his first start are double and tripling up the grades of our "veteran" interior linemen.

I thought 20/20 was the PFF grades of our starting guards.

I'm still not completely sold on Darnold as "the guy" but the needle is definitely pointing up. Just wish he had a half-decent OL to block for him.

We stayed banged up with this guy as head trainer.

I love this trade, but PLEASE make a move on the OL next.

This would make sense. He's another versatile player who we could move around on defense.

Shaq has been the biggest surprise this season for me.

Jesus, y'all need to forget about Butker already. It sucks yes, but he's not our kicker and won't be.
That said, yes, we need a kicker.

Why is Deonte Brown inactive?

Sam Franklin flashed.

The left side of the OL was so awful all game that I doubt Brady had time to give up much pressure before the left tackle beat him to it. Still, after the negative reports out of camp I was at least somewhat pleasantly surprised by him today.
I still don't get why we're playing him at right tackle when we just re-signed Moton, especially when we need help at guard as well.

Way too early to say, especially given Rhule is obviously the final decision maker. I thought we did fine in the draft, and even added some good defensive free agents.
It's just the OL and QB, which I have a feeling were Rhule's decisions more than Fit's.
