It appears these draft websites haven't caught the Cuba Hubbard fever some on this board have.  Personally I think hes' a solid RB2, but not a #1, and most of the pundits seem to agree.  Sanders is an afterthought.  I'll take his contract and be an afterthought too.  Poor guy.

Yeah. I could understand one, in the 4th but two just seemed silly given the needs and the positional value.

Everyone's a critic...... so heres my criticism. I'd rather have Pearsall and/or McConkey but otherwise a damn good draft.

Nobody on this board wanted Herbert. Yall were claiming he wasn't committed to football, and that his college game wouldn't translate.

Now everyone is saying the opposite.  Such bullshit.

I was the loudest voice on the huddle for Herbert.

The masses just weren't buying his stock.

I dont remeber what my opinion of him was but it's not my job to accurately scout qbs. They should have done it because THEY are paid to figure poo out.

Swapping picks just for a second next year is fuging hilarious. Trading down is for suckers.

sometimes it is, sometimes its not. if Morgan can scout, we're good. If he can't we're cooked, but we'd be cooked either way, trade or otherwise cause the root problem is not pick value, its scouting talent.

I can say that the point here was, at least in part, to gauge the type of WR we may pursue.  None of us can change the QB situation and it is doubtful the Panthers will in 2024.  I can say that when Bryce planted his foot and stepped into the throw, he was money. That rarely happened.

Lad McConkey and Ricky Pearsall are perfect for what Canales wants to do.

  6. I only became a panthers fan because I followed Cam. As a guy growing up in Alabama, pro football really is secondary. When Cam was winding down I wasn't sure I'd keep following, but Brown being here did it for me. I love the dudes that are model citizens and who's parents raised them right. Derrick Brown is the type of person who should be raised up as an example to kids. Not these guys out clubbing and acting like fools....in other words me in my 20s. Nothing wrong with being "boring" and stacking that bank balance.

3 weeks til we go on the clock.  As you all know, during these days of speculation and roster analysis, I tend to throw stuff out there--the things you don't talk about at parties, but you need me on that wall.  Where was I?....Oh, someone said something that I think could warrant discussion, especially amongst all you Bryce haters.

    • Point:  Canales said he was going to build an offense to play to Young's strengths.  He is true to his word--did it before.'
    • Point:  The Panthers interviewed/met with Bo Nix at the Combine.
    • Point:  Canales never said there would be no "Plan B," and he never said that they were "all in" on Bryce.
    • Point:  The Broncos are interested.
    • Point:  The QB crop does not look great for 2025.

NFL Network Description of Nix (6'2", 215):  Rare five-year starting quarterback whose play has matured in front of our eyes. Nix displays the accuracy, arm talent and athleticism consistent with today’s brand of pro quarterback. He can be punctual in getting the ball out at the top of his drop or he can work through progressions and beat defenses with second-reaction plays. He throws with good velocity and puts the ball on the money when throwing on the move. Nix has shown great improvement with his pocket poise. He’s capable of moving the sticks as a scrambler or as part of the running game. Some of his gaudy production has been driven by the Oregon offense’s design, but his talent clearly stands out. I’ve harbored bias from watching the overwhelmed version of Nix during his Auburn days, but as the saying goes, “tape don’t lie.” Nix appears more than ready to attack the league with an NFL-caliber skill set.

    • Point:  The NFL Network claims that Nix has the skills to be a "plus starter" in this league.
    • Point:  There are successful QBs who have benefited from lots of starting experience in college.  One played in Super Bowl.
    • Point:  The NFL Network site compared Nix to Tony Romo.

QUESTION: Would you pull the trigger at 33 and take a WR at 39?   I need the truth.  We will call drafting Nix a "code red."  Would you order the code red?

Just say No, to Bo. I'm an Auburn fan. Guy was a headcase at Auburn. Doesn't handle pressure well and cried about fans being mean to him. Hard pass.

As the draft draws near, trying to get all my ducks in a row about the picks.  Wilson is a very good line backer. Problem is he may be a big risk with his injury history.

Would you choose him in the 2nd or hope he falls, or not at all.I have a feeling our ex-middle lB in the front office may want to fill this need with a strong talent.

    Opinions??

No. I want consistency. how can you have that if a guy can only play 10-12 games a year. He's a great talent, but you can't build on a shaky foundation.
