Sadly need to take a RB with one of those 4th or 5th round picks.

I think the biggest "what if" for an already great player is Shaq.
What if Shaq had the work ethic of some of these other legends and spent countless hours in the gym working on his free throws and keeping his weight down. Just the amount of points he'd have added from the line, combined with teams then not being able to constantly foul him too, he'd have done crazy things.
He'd have been the undisputed GOAT, even more than Jordan or Lebron
Interesting argument. I'm in my mid 40s I've never seen anyone physically like Shaq. Dude was insane, moving that way at that size is wild.

By the by, did yall see JJ in landman?!? Dude had me tearing up.

Goat is Rice, but like Jordan, he was the insane never stop training go to the extreme. Not many guys like that. Imagine if Moss had had that mentality. Sheeiiitttt

I’d go BPA just about regardless of position. Especially if it’s a defensive player.
Good strategy. I try to have positions buckets. Like two or three positions in a particular round. Trying to combo need and bpa.

I go
DT/DE
DE/LB/NT
WR/CB
CB/WR
OC
OT
RB

That is only true if you're sure XL isn't going to get good and you're sure TMac will be good.
Well the pick is a sunk cost now. If tmac is a superior player in your mind, then you replace X. The question, as you point out is had the investment matured yet to "realize" it's potential. My counter to that, or amendment more aptly, is even if both become great players, you can trade one. This is why the true winning teams take BPA. As a long run strategy, it's the smartest way to draft. Teams falter because GMs are self interested. It's one reason why teams with a football savvy owner can really be dominant. Interest alignment between talent selector and long term team success.

Id take that. I love the picks round 4 on. The first few are good.

Depends on what position. DE in 34 or a olb in 34. If olb, then Carter. If de, scrotum or Mikhail are fine.
-
I wouldn't kick him out of bed, figuratively.
-
Hes older too, so he's likely only getting one more contract.

Amazing all the fans on this board that continually want to overpay for players. Burns was overrated as hell and some on this board went into mourning when he got traded. Now he's doing fug all in new York and getting a huge paycheck.
You don't pay an elite guy, elite money, to be elite half the time.

Reading this on the Fanside today.
1st Carter out of Penn State
Kennard out of South Carolina
Fannin Jr out of Bowling Green
With Tremble being a FA this year maybe it is a need to draft another TE this year to play along side Sanders.
-
Nothing more important than seeing what Bryce has. Now we have some evidence that he can truly be a good starter in the league. I'll take that loss in draft order all day to know i have a qb. You don't have poo in the nfl if you don't have a qb. Playing a season without one is pointless.

I'll eat my crow. Week 3. I thought we were gonna have to eat poo for 3 more years. Now I think if we can hit on some DL next year and get a true wr1, we can make some noise NEXT year. Which id have said is insane even 6 weeks ago.

We need edge LBs IMO. I think Abdul Carter is a slightly better athlete but I fuggin love Jalen Walkers motor. That guy plays all over and goes 100 every play. From Salisbury as well.
Long term absolutely, but I dont think it's as pressing a need with clowney and wonnum performing well. Feel like WR and DT, and even CB, and even ILB may be more pressing needs given out recent free agent signings.

DT is one of the best positions in this draft, maybe the best. Problem is I'd rather get edge in the first if it's the right person, but I'll take Graham in a heartbeat. He is a disrupter. And our second round pick has fallen back a great deal since it was once flirting with a top 10.
But there is a ton of talent that will go in the first at DT.
After Graham, Ken Grant out of Michigan. 339 pounds with quick hands and feet
Deone Walker, Kentucky. very athletic at 345 lbs
Shemar Stuart Texas AM, 6'6 290
Walter Nolen Ole Miss 305
Derrick Harmon Oregon 310
Omar Norman-Lott Tennessee 315
TJ Sanders Scar 290 better rusher than run defender
it's too early in the draft process to really say, but they could all be gone before our second pick.
I like corleone too. Probably more because of the name than I'm Willing to admit.

There are some good DTs (NT, 3 tech in this draft). In my mocks, I take 2. For that reason, I go edge in round 1. WR you ask? I look for those who run good routes and catch the ball cleanly.
If you had to choose right now, who would you keep on the roster--XL or Coker? One was a first rounder, the other an UDFA. So don't tell me there are no Wideouts to be found. I can list 12 that would improve us...but you asked about DT--any of these in round 2 would be great---Grant (mich) Nolen (Ole Miss) Harmon (Ore), Williams (Ohio St), Walker (KY), Sanders (SC). Sleeper? Collins (Tex). I love the DTs in this draft.Edge? ( I am discarding the Sam LB--holds the edge and plays run to pass--capable of moving down into the 3 tech--I think we have that on the roster in Wonnum, Johnson, Barno, etc. I am looking for either a true pass rusher or a hybrid who can cover and rush from multiple positions--like Parsons from dallas)
After Carter, I really like jalen Walker from Georgia.I like Mike Green (Marshall) in round 2 or Jack Sawyer (Ohio State). Sawyer is an excellent all around edge player with a great motor and bats down a lot of passes. Finally, in round 2, I might take BC's Donnovan Ezeiruaku--he had 80 tackles at Boston College and 16.5 sacks. who does that? Princely Umanmelien (sp) from Ole Miss is highly rated, but I am not that high on him personally because I think he is a one-trick pony--sack artist.
In the third round, We could add another South Carolina edge--Kyle Kennard who is learning the position with success (11.5 sacks, 3 FF) but he is weak vs the run, imo. In the third I'd rather have Bradyn Swinson from LSU who had over 50 tackles, 8.5 sacks.
If we do not get Carter, I would trade back and grab Mike Green or Jalen Walker and grab a DT or two in round 2.
