Here is my take, go ahead and roast me, I'm ok with it, I know where I am. I'm not ready to throw in the towel just yet. I will wait until week 4 or 5 before I entertain that option. This game I blame on the coaching staff. Their failure to give reps to the first team during the preseason was reflected in this game. Lets just call this what it is... our preseason warm up game. You could see that the whole team was flat in the first half. Every aspect of the game, the basic fundamentals. Mental errors, missed tackles, timing on routes, they were not ready for this game. Jacksonville is not a great team but you could clearly see their energy level surpassed ours. I do have to give credit to our defense. They did hang in there and kept competing through 4 quarters (minus the 71 yard run). The way our offense played it's a wonder Jacksonville didn't put 40 on us. Positives I saw, (I know, I know), but come on, we still have 16 games. TMAC IS that guy!! Chuba looked good, and overall, our O-line looked good. As bad as Bryce looked at times I do feel like we're a step or two away from connecting with our WR corps. There were plays to be made that were JUST off by a step or two (again, I know). We have talent at WR, we have talent on offense. To me, this game just looked like a team that was not mentally prepared for NFL week one, and less, "oh my god, we're the same old Panthers". Now I get it... a lot of this hinges on Bryce Young and his confidence. If he can erase this and focus on building continuity with these receivers I honestly think we're not going to suck as bad as we did today. XL... IDK, the jury with him is still out, but there is no doubt the kid has mega potential. Our defense, honestly, considering we have a bunch of new guys on that side, they held their own considering the offense could never change the momentum of the game. I am as disappointed as everyone else at another week one poor performance. But I also realize we are STILL rebuilding. Lets just take it week by week right now and see if we have ANY talent that rises to the surface. Because I really do not know what we have talent wise. And that is not just limited to the QB. So, we will see, but I'm not going to call it just yet... just my take. Now fire away! lol

Like you said, coaching. Well I'm my world that's a huge problem. You know how many times Bryce let the clock get down to 0 and it just wasn't called. Many of the times it was to protect a 17 point deficit. First time I've said this but Canales is trash!

In fairness, he was trash here, he didnt want to be here and never really tried to make it here.  Also, the team did everything in its power to make him fail.  No bootlegs and never got him out of the pocket.  QB that didnt match our system, forced to do things hes not great at, in a place he didnt want to be in a dysfunctional organization....ahhh the glories of being a panthers fan.

All agreed hence the shizz franchise

I want Bryce to succeed and live up to his draft position. I'm just frustrated we've seen this middling Bryce far too often during season starts, and for what we've given up to draft him, I'd like him to be a settled top notch starter in the league, not a "maybe he'll be top tier in a decade."

Sunk cost fallacy is at play here, and if Young doesn't show out consistently, it's time to move on.

Saca, you used to think every Panther team was a potential Superbowl winner. I'm sorry the Panthers had to stomp on your soul and rip out your spine. I could have warned you but that's like telling a kid there's no Santa.
