This is Homer time of year.  Perfect season.

That being said, the more I kook at our defensive line, the more that I don't see the team winning a single game.

    Hope I'm wrong.

DL doesn't look bad compared to other groups- Turtle, Dbrown, Clowney, Robinson, and wonnum. That's 5 guys that are or have been solid or above average for most of their careers. In fact Id say its the strength of the panthers. No ones too old or coming off a bad injury.

Depth-wise it is down right bad, just need to avoid injuries much like LB.

I agree with you about finding just win, I got them match last seasons 2 wins.

*I still feel NFC south is wild enough that if the planets align, panthers *could cash in their lotto ticket winner and shock the world. Cousins setback and penix sucks. LOL @ carr and HC Dennis Allen. TB used their luck and bakers play comes back to earth. Young shows he deserves that #1 pick and evero calls a masterful year.......... .0000000001567399% chance. Thats the best I can hope for, tons of miracles.....

  2. 1% chance he's great

That's why I believe this 'rebuild' will take 4 years.

I don't see anyone thus far that believing he will be great.

I am hoping he will just be good enough.

I also hate the fact that before young was picked, he was the answer to not having a great OL or WRs. Now one year later- 170 million spent on 3 Olmen, trade for starting CB for a troubled but talented WR, and use the first 2 draft picks on WR&RB. (4th on TE).

NOW the plan is to run the ball until fan boo form foxball flash backs.Terrible no matter the perception.

Just about any street QB could be hidden behind a run game, but here the Panthers are doing it for a Qb that they traded a huge haul for including the best valued WR in the league.

    Failure to the max.

It's really difficult to look at our defensive line and see more than one difference maker.

My main issue with the hunt deal was if he was truly that highly thought of, phins would have tagged him. Then traded him or ________ . I use to be super hardcore, still panther hardcore. But I never heard of this guy.

Icky could be that elite guy, but without campy giving him lots of help like his rookie year, he out right blew dog-water. People are focused on young having a bounce back year, but Ickey is right there next to him in needing that too. Lewis is or should be above average. Colbert is ????. Moton is older but rock solid average-above average in nearly all systems. SUcks Moton never wanted or have the skill to man the LT, that's my issue with him along with his insane salary made by former GMs.

The key to this is HAROLD GOODWIN, he's got to be a wizard.

I can’t prove it but just something I believe…the entire NBA is rigged.  Knicks getting all the calls in the garden…the absolutely absurd lottery that has no business in sports.  The worst team should pick first but the NBA has to fix it

I mean it was when Donnelly was out there for two years.

The rumor of Knicks getting a frozen envelope for patick ewing, among other stuff. Then there was giving the first pick which was the local choosen one lebron James to cleveland. The league/David stern found a buyer for the new orleans included gifting of the first pick, which was Antony Davis. As a hornet fan I remember he was 10000000000000000x the clear best player and the hornets drafted a role player without a jumper at #2 overall. Imagine Davis on the hornets, he would have changed the loser history for sure.

Many lotto felt fixed, or WERE fixed.

The thing is these smooth brain fans are like wrestling fans, they don't care just have drama/action/entrained/etc,

My issue is why would the other owners allow this? Sure money and all, but after billions millions don't matter as much....they want trophies, wins, and bragging rights among other owners. If I was a owner and we had one of those "secret" meeting and they go- "Bas we are giving the clear #1 pick Davis to new orleans and you get the #2 so be happy'. I'd put the team up for sale the nano second after that BS.

I felt the same, but I left the NBA mainly cause the games were boring and lazy until 2 minutes left in each quarter. All-star games became regular season games. Yes teams/coaches like spurs with pop, Larry brown, and pat Reilly played hard. Then add in Michael Jordan being the worst owner in history, it was easy to leave.

We're not even rebuilding , just existing at rock bottom

The only way it could be worse if we went 0-17 without scoring a single point all season

They were 2 last second FGs and a couple 4th down conversions away from being 0-17.

In other words they should have been 0-17 and those last two games they didn't score.....

This team is BAD, need more than one miracle to fix.

I'm biased obviously but I think I would take our roster over the Commanders and Giants.

    We still suck though.

    I disagree with that.

I can only think of one team Id take over the Panthers; patriots

At least on commanders, giants, and even the Panthers you can name a couple stars.

Name one patriot star or building block without gogglefuing, just not one.

There was a time when these list came out that you wouldn't include any rookies but that doesn't cause near as much discord.

I feel for Herbert because I think he's kinda got that Cam time line where there are things outside his control holding him back.

No QB had to play with less than herbo had, he was pulling a Cam for few years.

    Heres some proof-

I remember when Justin Herbert was top 3 as a rookie

btw, these lists are used to generate talk and clicks.

Yep a true off-season topic, much like "name your mount rushmore panthers!!"

Im a herbo fan, but no chance I'd place him in the top 3 as a rookie. No rookie gets that, not even golden boy luck. This league humbles all, especially QBs. You go to earn it after the defenses find your weakness and they will.

    2:0 start, let's go!

About to find out who knows who better, Id say Todd bowels knows canalas MUCH better. I think bowels is a awful HC, but he does have lots of experience and still a great defense mind.

Who knows, week one do have the most upsets it feels. But Im the wrong guy since I got them going 2-15 againss...

If they can run the ball and baker goes back to pre-2022 ver, they could steal the opener in a low scoring fight.

I dunno, I’d put Bryce over Bo Nix. #30 sounds right.

I agree, but Id also have Daniel Jones over young, so he'd still be #31.

I take that back, Id have young over JJ as well, so 30 it is....

I also think Murray was hit hard and Im no fan.

    Ball for Brandon Ingram?

He's from NC and that's probably the only other impact player we can get for a injury prone LaMelo Ball right now. Otherwise it's likely we keep Ball.

I know it’s not a basketball stat, but Melo has the #12 selling jersey in the NBA.  (#1 actually where I’m from in MD).  That’s ahead of Dame, Donovan Mitchell, Joker, KAT, Klay, Jimmy Buckets, Ant, SGA, and Kyrie amongst many many others.

A small market team with the bleak history we have, you don’t trade a young popular star like that.

If we put a reasonably competitive team on the court, Melo is the type that can RECRUIT another star or two.  Superstars that can recruit other superstars don’t land in Charlotte very often.  And the current NBA is all about recruiting that Big 3.

If we’re trading Ball, I’d rather have picks than a player. Four first rounders to be exact.

Sorry that I have not followed the NBA like years ago.

Just felt like even form afar, its a good time to part ways with Ball. Miller seems ready and willing. Ball should still have enough value for a good offer as well. I box-score watch them off and on, seeing DNP over the last two years next to him followed along  with weak lines when healthy(he did have one GREAT week of numbers). I can not pin point the time, just feels like Ball is no longer the guy to lead the hornets into future success. Is this wrong?

Brock Purdy #2 is just hilarious.

Literally no one else in that top 10 would trade their guy for Brock Purdy

That's true,  the trade part not the rank. He had MVP type year.... (it was a down year for all) look at his stats and he is a perfect fit for shanny's system.  Just add him to your long list of rhule-like takes about QBs.Lololoolols

Why do you guys do this to yourself? Nevermind, don't answer that. How many ways are you going to come up with to prove Bryce was bad last year? As if anyone doesn't know that already. I think that fact has already been proven. I wish you all would find something else to lament about for a change. I'm afraid you will not make it to preseason at this rate.

Us panther fans are addicted to painful broken heart stuff. It was my only "byce young bad" thread and he did have that one good quarter and that that one good throw!!!11!1!!

That tweet is hella misleading.  He literally says like 20 seconds later, "obviously, I think moving forward, you want Bryce Young."

I thought it was in reference to fantasy football as well.

It's too easy to clip bait these days.

Aren’t we just coping and defending whatever the Panthers do…

We have a coach that runs an O that doesn’t fit Bryce (our #1 overall pick).  We got a HC playcaller.  We got no experience at OC.  We got Jim Caldwell advising it all.  We got Tepper.  Now which season am I talking about??

seems like the definition of insanity.

Yes its against the rules to have a discussion, once you pick a side you are all-in and have to defend wrong.........I hate thats the way it is in the good OLD USA.....

Tepper put this on us fans. I can not believe the Panthers would have been 100% better off if they just kept Rivera and fuging Marty herniay.

for crying out loud, that link has no details about the contract.  I hate panther bot

It should be a 400,000-100,000 SB with vet min type deal is my guess.

Here is what philly signed him for and he had a meh year- "Rashaad Penny signed a It shoult 1 year , $1,350,000 contract with the Philadelphia Eagles, including $100,000 signing bonus, $600,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $1,350,000."
