Yea, its a awful year for COY there's like 5 coaches Id as a non-panther fan say are more worthy than Dave. Ben Johnson is doing similar to Dave by taking a yearly loser into a winner, but da bears are what 9-10 wins right now. Liam Coen has the fuging jags at 9-4 with similar talent as Panthers, I mean they drafted before them this pass year and had nearly zero from a guy they traded up for @#2 hunter. ugh....Sean Payton&vance has the broncos as the current #1 seed in the AFC..... you know the broncos before the year starts you have the chiefs with mahomes&reid and chargers with herbo&harbs. No one had broncos winning there nor as a the #1 overall seed. Mike Macdonald has the Seahawks at 10-3 compare that to Panthers 7-6, they are in a blood bath against Rams and 49ers.....shanny has half the team on IR with a 9-4 record. Chargers are 9-4 with no OL or RB and not much on D. I have even put colts above Dave and the Panthers, if not for Danny injury...they were on the way and playing great. Just soooooooooooo many HC deserving this year and still more games, but Dave has over played this year for sure. I had them at a firm 2 win team, with 4 being the maybe and 7?!?!?!? being the everything goes right. 7 wins is possible given the shitty NFC south.

He couldn't move the last three years of career that ended in 2020, wtf.... this can not be the best solution, unless he got a legs transplant form one of his 18 kids.

I know Herniay, gettlegut, shittererererrer, shinkshipsefort never took a awful OL or DL and solved the problems more than one year flukes. The depth is about as good as ever too, Cam Jackson and JHH have been inactive main stays. Panthers have been protecting them for a big portion of the season, cause Im sure some team would claim them. Sam Roberts was like the 10th DLmen and failcons signed him to their roster before week 1 and he's been there since. When teams are signing your 6th string player to a 53 roster, thats a great sign. Its against my rules to judge rookie class in their 1st season, but they've injected this team with talent and energy. 21% change with youth that by the early looks many have enough talent to help the team. Thor was getting starter snaps before his awful injury and he's not included. This group was under Dan and Tils watch, they had to add a 2nd rounder to counter that BY trade. Trade-wise they have been on the clear winning side on all 5-6 of them, the AT one looks arrestable right now. No one bats 1.000 on FA moves, they have bought something to roster. Turk had injuries and not playing at his salary-level, but he's stepping up with leadership and busting his arse in the weight room. Boom is leading too. Rico broke some all-time records and was lava hot leading the NFC in rushing without many snaps. Moehring has upped the talent level and able to play close to LOS while guarding TEs. They found Brycen Tremayne young perfect #4-5 WR that plays hard on STs. He a great blocker and I think he's can improve to a #3 type role given his young age and work ethic. He was the one that screwed up the WR numbers, no one had him making the team against 9 NFL WRs. The guy just busted his arse and made them roster him. Great under radar find, shame he's not gotten props. Early in the season he caught some big time balls too. I think for sure they have improved this team and done so with youth. If they get another 12 or so players like this 2025 class in 2026......That may build for the the first time, a team that can go to the playoff year after year.

Anybody sense something off about this?

Its ok on my end, you people would hate my guts if I was the Carolina panthers owner...... -
Heres a key stat- Rams averaged 7.4 yards each play..... I REPEAT 7.4 YARDS EACH SNAP. I forgot the posters name, but I said a long the lines defense didn't do much outside the TOs...Like watching the game- Rams run play 12 yards. Next play Rams pass for 29. Next play TE screen 7 yards. Just like watching a big college team vs DII team. Panthers on one TO was in the end zone and the fumble was in the red zone too. Rams did it to the cards too, I think the best job in the NFL is being the current rams punter.

dang this team still has winning games problems.
-
I forsee that hivvamp silver to add another 1st rounder at the end for the heat.... while letting the hornets keep their traded pick... They take away the pick, riot!!
-
Wriffs is hurt some too, he missed last game....but he's an animal and I expect him to be on the field for the remaining games.... Panthers have had more than normal injuries, especially at OL....... the stat is 10th different OL starters in 13 games....Goodwin and Gilbert deserves main props for keeping the standard high. I know in past years, nearly all Panthers OL were not able to have just one injury without the whole group floundering.

so yea... the um Saints.... how do we beat them this time?
Basbear replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
That corner/DB blitz also stopped Rico as well, Panthers just "let" a unblocked DB and they tackled well enough. Chubba is better on inside runs, youve seen Rico bust those off-tackle runs for 16 per clip. I hate them, but their game plan just was near perfect given the talent. Panthers haven't practiced against constant CB biltzs since its rarely used. Many times it heavily favors the offense since most teams run 3 WRs. Also you need the QB to see it......AND punish the play. Plus if 4 CBs are on the field, check to a run.... The part that Im worried about is, that game also showed how bad the the Panthers WRs were against man zone, cause with one less CB, you are on an island with WRs&TEs. The young WRs and TEs were up against mostly name-less guys(kool-aid looking good tho and dat name, lols) and they didn't seem to get open enough OR fast enough for BY. I hope Hunter is active, OL is healthier, and so is Chubba....that should help plenty. -

Basbear replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Its too easy to blame BY and we all know this....(even if its 100% true) I don't feel the iants have the blueprint on BY. Panthers just were not ready- CB biltzs are super risky and thought of as to only use like once a game. I know you watched lots of football this year, any other team you recall having their CB/safety blitz nearly every other play?? Its sort of all-in play used for those "surprise" 3rd down calls. Panthers will have solutions this time or repeat the history......I honestly think DC just never practiced plays against that edge pressure, give the saints coaches all the credit. That took BIG BALLS and it worked great given BY folded under that pressure. It even stopped the running game, unblocked missle safety or willing CB tackler, Rico was neutralized too. This time Chubba is healthy and OL should be better too. Tremble and Evans have bigger responsibilities this week too.... I forgot to add, that dang stadium can not get rockin.....I hope they have hand signals on point too. -
100% of all pro sports owner do the same thing, (there is one who didn't, but I can not recall). Its the price of having a NFL or NBA or MLB or Hockey team or race track or etc in the area. They ALL get and ask for money. so screw you for making me defend tepper....!! Im sure you know the rent poor Mr.tepper has to pay each year as well..... Plus its sorta been busted about the impact of having a pro team in the area. The impact is no greater than a super target, its basically the reason why county clubs members drive GMC rather Chevy or wear Rollie's that Seiko watches. Its a status symbol, plain and simple. "O you live in city without a NFL team, you're a fly-over poor".

Jonathan Brooks parts of Joe Person Athletic article dec 8
Basbear replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
Most on the front page have it right. NFL is a meat grinder and each year around 300 players are replaced....They don't wait around, your replaceability is at 99%. Just the burrows, parson, Jackson, malhomes, garret, etc They are the only ones not worrying about getting dropped for some rookie....but give it time....30 years old is a fossil in the NFL now, barely no one is 32 unless you had elite skills in your 20s. Brooks is also at a high risk for all injuries given 2 years and 2 ACLs within 2 years. Odds are stacked against him, Panthers have to act like he's not on the roster until roster cuts.... -

Basbear replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
If the inats use the same game plan, you have to throw at the blitz and run more TE/WR smoke screens at the blitzing side. You have to force them to stop sending a CB blitz, make them pay. Honestly Id like to see Hunter in this game besides Horn, whom has done near nothing in months. Hunter is a killer on those smoke routes and is a master at seeing a weak spot when a team is blitzing CB. Add this too- Run the read option a few times, those CBs have to make a choice and if they choose wrong, the chance for a big gain is there. Id also tell BY to pump fake more this week too. Evero should have looks that Tyler has not seen, he needs to confuse and hope Tyler has TOs. No BS this nFC south is weak and all, but the iants are one of the better 3-10 teams I can recall. They play hard and look very well coached without big talent. I think around 5 of the losses were the classic one or two plays away from wins. -
Defenses have the edge at this time. Believe it or not Cam started the "college" offense migration into the NFL, that zone read was a problem for years.....Until defenses started to hit the QB no matter what. I always blamed the "old school" guard for not trying college systems/plays, WHO gives a good GD sooo long the play gains yards and the defenses has no answer!!! It was soooo Stoopid. They didn't want their #1 or first round QB on field with plays he was comfy with?? What the hell line of thinking was that!?!?!? It was force their BS system on a young mind and not win the dam the game. They didn't want to get replaced, scared bed wetters.... Plus Ive said this for years, all teams run similar offenses. If the play works, it may look different pre-snap, but that if that OC is smart he will implement concepts into his style of offense. Mike Martz had the whole league copying him, why cause his offense caused huge problems, DUH!! He started the whole calling a run/pass on the same play, it screwed up teams for years. Its the same for any bright mind, the plays are only good if you use them and they do each week- Andy Reid, Shanny, Mcvay, Payton ALL copy each other. They are always looking for a edge and miss-match, which was a big thing not long ago too force a miss-match. Now nearly all top 20 teams have 3 WRs that will bust your ass, along with a good-great TE and RB. Its just the current league, you need to be ready each week cause here coming a UNIT that's ready to drop 40+ if you are not ready. Rams don't need a punter if they are switched on. Its takes another brilliant mind like Bill Bellicheat to figure how to slow down juggernaut offenses. The amount of teams that used Bills methods after he showed the league how to stop teams, people just don't know. Mcvay is back on fire, but Bill showed the league the blueprint to stopping MCvay.....couple years and Mcvay is back on top just killing the score board.

@LinvilleGorge I guess others want to discuss this beat to death topic, huh?!
