On top of that, the sentiment that "nobody said frank didn't deserve the job" has the attention span of a goldfish. TONS of people were HIGHLY critical of Reichs hiring. I remember because I'm older than 6 months old.

In 2013, 2015, and 2016 he had 39 Kickoff returns for Zero touchdowns with a long return of 59 yards, so there was one good return Im guessing. As for punts, 82 punt returns with yet again zero touchdowns with a long in that span of 41 yards. Was he decent? Sure, but he was not elite, not even a little.
-
It ALWAYS seems like we dont have a good returner. Was the last elite returner we had Steve smith in 2003?

LOL, Just went and looked into him since I didnt know much about him, his freaking Draft profile has his NFL Comparison is Cam Irving.

Official Lions at Panthers damn it's hot out GameDay thread

IM SO HAPPY!!! it actually happened! -
Burying the team after 2 preseason games is just as bad as predicting a super bowl. I still stand by that this roster is between 7-10 and 10-7. THAT is not based on last year, THAT is based on talent on the roster. Moton got paid like a very good tackle, Icky was a top LT pick and should be growing into becoming elite. Jaycee Horn should be growing, Brian burns, Derek brown. Theres too many names to mention. Fact is this is a playoff level roster, but theres 1 catch and its not Bryce young. How healthy can we stay, its that simple, its always that simple and it always will be that simple. Teams that stay healthy in our talent level position make the playoffs, you see it literally every single season, but if we have even a few key injuries, the season is tanked.

What is Ekwonu doing here..?
Carolina Cajun replied to SZ James (banned)'s topic in Carolina Panthers
my guess, he thought chuba was picking up protection from the outside blocker thinking another guy was pushing his position. -
I've kind of thought since the reports of us kicking their ass at practice came out that they showed up with more juice in that preseason game JUST BECAUSE we skunked their ass and they wanted some revenge.

God, I know everyone is just piling on the Tuohys (and rightfully so), but the heartbreak Mike had to have experienced had to be awful and that's the part of the story people seem to be missing. I mean he didn't have a stable life, that part was true, and he thought that they loved and wanted him as part of their family, only to find out in February of this year that it was a complete lie and he was used. The human element of this is the saddest part of this. I'll wait to see what comes in this and hope its some sort of misunderstanding, but if this is true, my god, there is truly a special place in hell for those assholes.

Sorry, this isn't a guaranteed losing season, we're somewhere between 7-10 and 10-7. 1-22 we're a decent team, and while our O-line looked like absolute dog poo, this O-line was a decent unit last year, I don't think they'll continue to be awful. Aside from that, especially on offense, we didn't really see anything. Its hard to grade any other position when the O-line was getting blasted because the QB couldn't make reads and show what he has, RBs had no holes, and receivers didn't have time to get in their routes, so how do we know what we have at literally any other position besides OL that just on paper should be much better than how they performed. Lets see how they look when live rounds are flying then we'll talk.

I'll take it a step further, 1-11 we have a top 5 defense. That said, the talent drops dramatically, injuries will dictate the season this defense will have.
-
Nah, Ride with Sanders. Taylor is good, but he's gonna demand a bigger payday than any team should pay so, nah, stay with the 1300 yd back we have on the roster and is under club control.

Verizon is offering NFL Sunday Ticket for free
Carolina Cajun replied to PanthersATL's topic in Carolina Panthers
I personally cant for the life of me understand why they havent figured out a way to have a specific team "season ticket". I dont need every NFL game, just the ones for my team. Until they figure that out Im not giving them money and Im gonna find "ulterior methods". -
yea, Dr Dre wasnt built in a day or something.
-
theres kickers who are gonna lose their jobs over this. Why keep a kicker with a big leg so that he can guarantee touchbacks when you can keep a more accurate kicker. Now kicker debates will be purely about accuracy and much less about power.

Eh, I think the players could have pushed for a full active roster and more flexible IR situation IE have like 3 or so Weekly IR positions to allow for healthier players and less forced use of injured players. I mean Baseball in a much less physical sport has 15 day IR for short term injuries while the NFL is like a month long IR for "short term".
-
dude, I've thought this for a while and Im shocked that the players didnt fight for this when they expanded to 17. The active roster has desperately needed to be expanded for a while.
-
I dont know about teams with 3 qbs, but also this rule has never been in place so I think this is going to be a more common discussion among front offices.
-
Pff, I never had doubts about that. Young is QB1, no matter what without a doubt, and most likely Dalton will backup as a steady vet. The problem to me is Corral would get caught in a numbers game, but I do think he still has long term potential. With the new rule I think its more likely than not that they keep 3 QBs just to be able to utilize the new rule in case of emergency and meanwhile continuing to develop Corral who I think if he develops becomes our Backup next season.
-
So I saw the story going around about them allowing an emergency qb after the 49ers had to use McCaffery briefly at QB then going back to a guy who legitimately couldn't throw. I mention this because I think this all but guarantees that the panthers will keep Corral on the roster at least. If you're gonna have your inactive list, why not narrow that inactive list down by one and allow for the 3rds string QB in emergency without worrying about losing an active day roster spot. Anyone else get that feeling after seeing that this rule change happened?

Oh I know and I agree, I just think its absurd for the starting lineup from the article to not have him in it. I mean he has guys like Gross Matos and CJ Henderson who barring injury will not be on the field as much as Chinn will be this upcoming season.
