  1. I don't post here that often, but when I do, I try to  make it salient and positive.  I was actually formulating such a thread as this, before yesterday's game, in an appeal to all to put aside the petty squabbles, and concentrate on game and player analysis instead, now that we have some actual plays to analyze.

Glad I didn't.  I certainly couldn't have done it as well, or as thoroughly, as you did, @TheMostInterestingMan

I know opinions are now the lifeblood of society, thanks to the takeover of our lives by social media, but making it easier for every a__hole (remember the two things everybody's got) to flaunt his has resulted in the inevitable descent to the lowest common denominator of free speech.

I'm glad I won't be around in 20 years to see where this leads.  This isn't just football related; it is a civilization without civility.

Nevertheless, I remain an ardent Panther fan, and will concentrate on the good qualities of the team, its players and its leadership, and avoid complaining and blaming -- for it just makes for a happier life, in general.  Go, Panthers!

I've haven't ignored anyone, until now.  I ignored that Life Don't Matter Dude.  I don't want to keep reading his damn user name over and over.  People do that sht to make you think that sht, because when you read it, you've thought it.

The guy is obviously a troll ****** with the board.  I would suggest we all do the same.

    The mods should boot him.

Where is the Ignore button?  I can't seem to find it.  I'm wid' you, babe.

DJ gonna be taking quick slants to the house.

Or Robby.  Or Marshall.  Or CMC.  I believe any of them can successfully line up in the slot, and pose a very big threat to a defense.

This should be fun to watch.  It's exciting to hear that Darnold is acclimated to these over-the-middle throws.  I'm tired of sideline outs. They can't go to the house, like a broken tackle in stride can.

  4. @Seltzer, I have always appreciated your takes, but this eye-witness account, of how SO MANY players are performing at TC -- it's exceeded anything you've done.  Maybe the best single "football" thread we've had all summer.

Isn't it refreshing to see so many responses, and NOT ONE diverting attention to irrelevant talk about _______, or ___________, or even __________?

    Thanks again, man!

I think that Tepper is patient, but not to a fault. He's a man of high expectations and results.

Well, that estimation goes both ways, doesn't it?

Tepper has made his money running a hedge fund, during a volatile and roaring bull market.  So some credit for his "high results" owes to the market environment in which he traded.

As for Rhule, he too has "high expectations and results" on his resume -- and with no easy environment resurrecting the 2 college programs, at both of which his program of 'process' owes solely to his vision and leadership.

Certainly Tepper signs the checks, and the contracts.  But that doesn't mean that he's any smarter -- or competent -- than Rhule.

Too much speculation on results and repercussions 2-3 years in the future.  No one in the world knows how this will play out.  I say let's stand back, root for our team, and see what transpires.

I’d sure want better than 9-1

but I do like the over on 7.5

To complete the picture, the Bucs are 2-1, the Saints are 100-300, and the Falcons are 100-750.  So we are the long shots to win the NFCS.

Only the Texans, Lions, Raiders, Bengals, and jets are bigger longshots than the Panthers to take their division.

  7. FYI, betting sites have prices out on Over/Under Regular season wins for each team.

Panthers number is Over/Under 7 1/2 wins. Either side you take, you put up 115 to win 100.

As soon as I saw this line, I jumped all over the Over side.  (TB's # is 11 1/2 wins.)

I also put down 100 for the Panthers to win the Division, at 9-1 odds.
