Wow I thought Kelly was a shoe-in for the Raiders’ job. He got high marks for his interview here. I wonder if he’s still in consideration?

Anybody get 2008 Divisional Round v Arizona vibes from this game?
You read my mind. I got this vibe during the GB pregame lovefest from the Fox commentators. Feels like one of those Vegas upsets.

If that’s true, I’ll be taking an indefinite leave of absence from Panthers’ football. That would be the most questionable decision we could make with all the more qualified candidates out there.

It's not fair to Bryce Young that Stroud's success makes me despise him even more, yet here we are. Fug Bryce and Megafug Tepper.
Not the kid’s fault. Can’t blame him for being the obvious incompetence of our front office. This is all on Tepper and our ex GM.

Can you imagine if this kid leads the Texans to the SB as a rookie?
Tepper probably on his yacht in the middle of the ocean watching this game thinking damn I screwed up.
Certainly hope he is

What could’ve been. So damn depressing

Good write up on McClay. I like the part about him being a “Unifier” - we could sure use that.

I totally agree. That should have been the plan from the jump. But they've been struggling to figure out if they are rebuilding or making a run. Until Dave figures that out I'm not sure what is going on. He's 5 years behind on making that decision.
This missed a great opportunity to reset the direction of this franchise when Rhule was hired (and during COVID). But I regress. Can only hope Dave will get it right this time.

Hate this for Scott because he appears to be a good guy and well liked within the organization. But it’s beyond obvious a new direction is needed and we can only hope Tepper will get finally get this right.

It’s a culture problem. Why everyone needs to go
Agree we need a culture change but you can l’t tell me everyone needs to go. Derrick Brown with over 100 tackles this season, Chuba Hubbard running hard, Luvu and Horn balling out - we definitely have some core players to build with.

Dammit, Bryce held it too long again. He needs to get out of the pocket sooner.
Yup that sack was on Bryce. Going for the long ball when all we needed was 4 yds

Can we start posting non-panthers threads yet in the main forum or is that after black Monday? Cause this is…
Sad.
Sad indeed. Didn’t know he was still in the League. Should’ve retired years ago.

That's a WILD stat... honestly thought you were going to type "the most in Panthers history."
Yea, he's the must sign. Scary part is he probably hasn't even had the luxury of NFL top level coaching since he's been here, which means he probably still hasn't peaked. That's crazy to think about.
Glad to see him finally get some recognition. Well deserved.
Except this year. Todd Walsh is a renowned DL coach and well respected around the league. No doubt he’s played a role in Brown’s stellar performance this year. We definitely need to lock him down financially. Same for Luvu.

No argument.
Brown could go back to RB Coach, though I think It'd be funny as hell if Johnson brought Staley back.
You know I’ve actually thought about that also. It would probably be a tough sell for Staley though.

Returning to the actual topic, a quick summary...
Amid speculation that, having promoted John Lynch to "President of Football Operations", the 49ers could easily give Adam Peters the GM title where he'd continue to be in charge of personnel. Peters was declining interview opportunities with other teams last year, so his departing San Francisco seems highly unlikely.
Lions Assistant GM Ray Agnew has an obvious connection to Ben Johnson, but also is connected to current Panthers DC Ejiro Evero and OC Thomas Brown. A lot of people like the idea of a Johnson / Evero pairing. This could potentially make that easier.
Other potential candidates include Bears Assistant GM Ian Cunningham (who interviewed for the Assistant GM job here before Dan Morgan was hired) and Ravens Director of Player Personnel, Joe Hortiz (who I'd love to get).
It’s Joe Horriz from the Ravens for me. We need a change of culture in the worse way and the Ravens have been perennial winners.
Ray Agnew makes sense if Tepper is truly sold on Ben Johnson - his connections with Evero and Brown makes the transition easier though I’m not sure Brown sticks around after this disastrous season.
Ian Cunningham is at least worth consideration based on his background.

Yeah now that we clinched worst record, it’s official that we spent two #1 overall picks on him. Has that ever been done before?
Can’t get any more depressing knowing the Bears suckered us out of our best offensive player (DJ Moore - 9/159 yds/TD today) and the #1 overall pick in next year’s draft for a QB we can’t protect or provide any help for.

This is some of the worse blocking I’ve ever seen. Matadors block better. Josh Allen literally beat Ickey and Mays for that sack

Burns is not our best defensive player. Joe lost me right there.
Nope…that would be Derrick Brown. Pay him!
Then find money for Luvu b/c he’s our 2nd best defensive player.
