They offered him a contract but it was incentive laden and pissed off Brees and they mutually agreed to part ways. Brees also said his shoulder injury helped him long run because he couldn't throw so all he did was work on his footwork. Brees has the exact same "tip toe" release Bryce has which he really mastered after the Chargers.

But do we have the HC/GM to capitalize? One thing Payton did in NOLA was prioritize guard play over tackles. Running this offense, you get the ball out quick and the Saints always put a very heavy emphasis on not letting pressure get to Brees up the middle. This offense needs a legit WR yes, but being 8 weeks in now it's clear our #1 priority after this season has to be shoring up the O-Line for next year

few things... rookie season, easily the worst offensive roster in the league, HC who was fired less than a year ago, first time OC calling plays, has strung together a few games and shown some stuff. I'd like to believe we can't be worse from an offensive roster standpoint next year and want to see what Bryce can do year 2. It's not like we can move off of him before 2025 anyway.

I see the opposite. He is physically gifted player who ran a backyard college offense. I feel his ceiling is not limited at all, its all about if he has it between the ears to figure out the NFL and the work ethic to go with it.
