Honestly smart move on us for both him and Chase Young. Was interested in both but they got way more than I’d be comfortable with. Chase with his lazy play and Williams with his injury history

Tremble. Out of the draft he was touted as the most violent guy on the field every play who was elite blocker and just needed time to develop as a pass catcher. If he lived up to his potential he would be kittle

panthers cant afford him. He was on a 3 year $60 million contract with LA. Carolina isn't giving him more than half that
That means nothing if he came here

Do we want to trade any more picks to the bears for what most believe is a bad QB?
Seriously, think about this. Just how low do you want to go? Think of the optics on the Burns fiasco.
Then multiply that by 10,890.
We sell the farm so we can trade for BY then give them a other pick for the QB they wanted nothing to do with.
Yowzers
It makes zero sense… so of course the huddle is up in arms about why we didn’t trade for him.
this year is all about finding out if Bryce is it or not, which is exactly what the Bears did this year getting weapons for Fields to see if he could be the guy. If Bryce isn’t it, we’re drafting a qb next year. If he is, we don’t need Fields here as a backup that costs us a draft pick. Either way going after Fields who is proven not to be starting caliber qb makes zero sense.

Evero is seriously focusing on the run this year. I really like this, if Horn can stay healthy and we get an average guy at the other side this defense could be nasty.
-
2 sacks last year but only 13 total tackles lol
assuming this is a depth piece that evero thinks might have boom potential in his system. whatever for a 1 year $5M

He was unhappy on a team that had QB's at least good enough to get them to the playoffs in 3 of his 5 years and had a worst record of 8-8 in that timeframe.
If he was unhappy with that, what in the world makes you think he'll be happier by going to a team with the worst QB in the league with a worse arm than any QB he had in Pittsburgh?
He’s automatically the #1 here and clearly he had issues with the coaching staff there. It was very well known. Just let things play out and give it a shot, he hasn’t even met Bryce yet just seems like a stretch to say he already knows he doesn’t wanna play with him

My issue with the trade has 0% to do with Johnson the player or what kind of contract he might want
It's that he's made it known he has been unhappy with the Steelers QB play the last few years and I can't see him going from that to Bryce and then wanting to re-sign with us next offseason.
I like this trade, but I also wanted to find a more long term WR solution this year, which we now won't be able to unless we get lucky and hit a home run in the draft.
How can you proclaim he won’t be happy playing with Bryce when he has unofficially been a panther for less than an hour?

It wouldn't shock me if the Panthers took a corner at 33, which I'm all for depending on the board.
We are surprisingly setting ourselves up to take BPA minus DT which would be nice

Damn. Really nice move. Get a position of need for a guy we were gonna cut anyway… okay Morgan today has been pretty solid….

Yeah he is 2 years older than Luvu. Luvu was plan A, but he went with Washington so this looks like plan B.
I wonder if that's true. Evero seems to be making the run his priority which I think gives a slight nod to Jewell.
We are going to suck rushing off the edge this year, but if Horn can stay healthy the defense can be serviceable with a very stout run defense and a lockdown corner that can take the best WR out of the game. Really need to hit on a DE/OLB in FA or draft

Man, all I can say is it is clear as day Morgan's philosophy. Control the middle of the LOS on both sides. Will be interesting to see how this plays out but it definitely is not the worst way to rebuild a team up.

1 year 9M would be nice

This is what we should’ve done a long time ago. Build a damn line. It’s about time. If Bryce can’t succeed with talent around him then we better draft his replacement soon.
No doubt. Last year was impossible to tell with the crap we put to protect him. This time next year we will know on Bryce, no excuses.

Wow. I love what we’ve done today outside of Luvu. This really frees us up to go WR and DE in the draft even tho I don’t think we’re nearly done yet on the defensive side of FA

I don’t think we give up anything for anyone in FA. I think the plan is another OL, WR, DE, and a few more depth pieces in FA than WR and DE in the 2nd. We have the cash to shop around in FA, no need to be trading draft picks away
-
Justin Simmons, one more OL preferable C, and a corner
-
I think north of $25M now without doing anything new to Motons contract. I haven’t factored in Ian’s restructure not sure what he did
-
Schrödinger’s Burns. If we paid him $30M everyone would be pissed we didn’t trade him for the two 2nds and next years 1st the Giants definitely most positively were offering

Panthers sign Justin Strnad LB…and then he changed his mind
in Carolina Panthers

Nice depth piece. Anyone evero has coached in the past and wants I’m good with
