Winn er Winner, dang I thought this would be harder for the huddle. Congrats to Both.

    SC is #1 with 5.

Bama is just like the remaining 3 players, @OldhamA Ray was the other you missed DLman LaBryan Ray.

ND also is where thee legend JJJ is form.

A&M is the school I thought would be the hardest to guess.

Oh dang never would have got A&M. We got 2 NC State on the OL so figured there’d be another sprinkled on the roster somewhere.

This is some weird mental gymnastics you're trying to do here by now twisting it into extrapolating one game's stats out for a full season.  Especially since your post that I was responding to never mentioned TD's, you simply said that 206 yards wouldn't be a bad passing game in today's NFL.

I'm not extrapolating anything out to a full season, I was responding specifically to you saying in today's NFL, 206 passing yards isn't an underachieving stat line.

So unless you don't think being 20th in something out of 32 would be "underachieving", all I did was point out how the facts of today's NFL season contradict what you said.  That throwing for 206 yards in a game is clearly an underachieving stat line for today's NFL.

And if your next argument is going to be "well you're looking at season long passing averages and comparing that to one game", then that also just hurts your argument.  As if you're trying to say a one game performance is deserving of winning an award, then it should fall in the upper levels of the season long averages, not the bottom.

Thank you. I’m glad you agree.

206 yards per game would be the 20th rated passing game in the NFL this year.

I'd say if you are ranking 20th as a team in any category in the NFL, you're underachieving and need to improve there.

3 TD per game would be the 1st rated TD passing game in the NFL this year at 39 blowing Stafford out by 7.

Do we think that's accurate extrapolated across the full season? See how stupid an argument that is?

I think Icky was shown steady improvement and really should be entering the prime years of his career that position. He's a first round draft choice that panned out and I think he needs to be resigned.

That said, your above formula is correct, but concerning. Icky is Good player and could potentially become great. But, should a 4 year starter at LT that has never been selected for an 1st or 2nd All-Pro team or been selected to a Pro Bowl become receive a new record setting contract and become the highest paid LT in football? We may have to do as you suggested in your post.

If he does get that deal, then the financial situation at QB becomes even more concerning. If Young and his agent insist on a contract in line the "QB Market" and you want to retain him you either have to hope he takes a hometown discount (i.e. below market value contract) or have a guy in the wings to replace him when he decides to hit the open market. We still have crucial holes to fill at EDGE, LB, S.

It's fun to pretend to be a GM, but in real life we can only imagine how stressful that job really is.

Looking at All Pro or Pro Bowl is meaningless. If Icky was the LT for the Chiefs he'd be a perennial pro bowler. Panthers get shafted in these every year because small market + ass for the past 5 years.

Kinda crazy how little we are talking about Icky this season. He will be heading into the final 5th year option of his contract, meaning he will likely be getting a contract extension this offseason.

He’s having a career season. He’s had only 3 penalties in 13 games, a large drop from the 11-12 he’s averaged in prior years. His impact in the run game is still massive, while still being average at best in pass protection. Either way he’s been the best LT the Panthers have fielded since Jordan Gross and it’s a no-brainer to re-sign him. But at what cost? He will command a hefty price.

It doesn't matter. Pay him whatever is needed, it'll be outside the top 10 and look like a good deal in 2 years when others get extended and the cap goes up. We won't be paying Bryce next year (at least praying we won't do that) so still have flexibility with cap.

“All I know is you’ve spent a lot of time and energy arguing that a Panthers player doesn’t deserve national recognition for their performance. That just seems like an odd stance for a fan to take.”

Seriously. It's a Twitter poll, not the Heisman trophy. He should just go cast his vote for another NFC team and move on.

I don't think he's worthy of being nominated for the award this week, even with those very broken down stats.  He had a great statistical game, I'm not saying he didn't, I just see how it was a Top 6 statistical performance this week.

Brown's 10 receptions for 132 Yards and 2 TDs is so much better than anything Bryce put out there statistically today.

It also means you're giving more credit to the "3 TDs of 30+ yards" than Mahomes throwing for 25% more yards and an extra TD, which is something else I'd disagree on, if you need to break down how long a TD pass was to give reasoning as to why lesser stats were actually better than someone else's, then I think you're hurting your own argument.

And yes, I know I've been a very vocal anti Bryce guy, but this has NOTHING to do with that.  I just view this as an award that is purely statistically based, and if anything, could (or maybe should) be done blind and only looking at box score output without knowing players or game outcomes.  And in that view, I don't see how Bryce had a game worthy of being nominated for the award this week, that there were at least 6 better purely statistical performances, that's all.

QBs win MVP (year, month, week, whatever timeframe you want) all the time where it 100% should go to a RB, WR, CB, DE, etc. QBs with a hot week will always be discussed in these type of meaningless awards. You are seriously overanalyzing this.

Again, as I've noted in my other posts in this thread, we're not talking about the actual MVP award, we're talking about an award who's purpose is to award great statistical performances.

And beyond that, you used a terrible example to try and support Bryce here.

No, he doesn't have a 300 yard game, but he's also currently leading the league in passing yards (yes, he'll fall a couple spots while on by this week, but he's still currently 4th in the league in YPG), while Bryce is currently 19th.

Bryce just threw for 206 yards, his 3rd most yards in a game this year.

Drake has only thrown for less than 206 yards one time all year.  Against us, in a game they won by 29 points and he went 14/17 for 203 with 2 TDs and another rushing TD on top.

Drake also only has 3 games this season having thrown less than 259 yards.

Bryce has 5 career games over 259 yards passing.

I literally said nothing about Bryce Young and your original post said nothing about Bryce Young. My statement was just a reply to your original comment. I'm not supporting any individual player, I'm stating that it isn't 2019, teams majority run base nickel (imagine that in 2005), and 206 yards is not an underachieving performance as insinuated. Not just for Bryce, for any QB in the NFL.

Completely agree. We still waiting on that Cam esq game where he lights it up and we Completely stomp the other team for 4 quarters. But that may never be the case,  you still only get good play from him when you have a run game to carry the load.

Look how much we ran on 3rd down. Who does that if they know they have a franchise QB? Thats crazy lol

He has those every time we play the falcons lol. It’s either 5 TDs or 400+ passing yards.

Rhetorical question: Does anybody see Canales being significantly more successful even with a better QB? I mean, they’ll win a few more games here and there, but he will never be able to out coach any of the better organizations. Shanny knew everything that was coming and how to play it.

“A few more games” has us 9-3 instead of 6-6
