naw, you can get a sufficient LS in undrafted FA
we passed up one of the best IOL prospects in Trey Smith for a LS when our OL needs improvement
Why get a sufficient one in UDFA when you can get the best one in the nation for the next 10 years with a 6th? Seems pretty reasonable to me

1.2 million according to sportstrac. They can cut him and save $987,000 though.
Well there you go. A million for a LS seems silly.

Is this a cap thing? No idea what JJ makes but I guess we’re looking to save a mil or whatever here

Last three picks played in the Senior Bowl.
But honestly it's like someone else is drafting in the 6th round. Before that it was 'high character guys with impressive athletic profiles'. Now it seems we're trying to justify having coached at the Senior Bowl?
I'm not going to die on a hill over it - just an observation.
I think these guys know what they’re doing and adapt draft plan to round. No reason to have one plan the entire draft when you can have one strategy 1-4 and another 5-7. I think it makes sense to draft the high risk high reward guys later as those types usually don’t make an impact anyway. Get 1 pro bowl kinda guy every 3 years in those rounds and you’re killing it

Is this how Brady uses his TE? if he’s brought in to be an elite blocker in our scheme seems like a great pick

Not really... There is Ian Book from ND but we all know how we feel about ND QBs lol
Felipe Franks could be an interesting developmental QB who got beat out by Trask and then transfered
KJ Costello might be someone Carolina may look at based off of his connection with CMC and actually pretty decent before transferring
K J as an udfa would be great

Not even that we like the player picked?

Listen, I love the player we picked, I said it earlier, but don't pretend it's a need. Receiver is arguably the most stacked position group on the team, and there's no reason to assume we're not going to either resign our receivers next off-season, or find one in free agency — again next off-season.
I can’t agree with a single point you made in this post so I will respect your opinion and we will just disagree on this

Is receiver really a need? Or is it a "need" a year from now.
What does this even mean? The team will exist in 2022 this is how great teams operate

Wow announce our pick and don’t even talk about him go straight to commercial. Espn really hates us.
Watch NFL network, they covered him decently

Love this pick. I think this has been the guy the whole time and the knew could get him in the third. Use the next 2 on OL too and this is an A+ draft

NICE. Love it. Use the other 2 on OL too

I’m starting to wonder… even with how horrendous Little looked past 2 years, are the coaches seeing something this off season we aren’t?

45.9 is Darnold's best year, bro.
I have zero idea what point you’re trying to make here… Tannehill averaged 5 point higher QBR his first 3 years, therefore Sam cannot take a leap forward and become a solid starter? Help me connect your dots
-
Damn! Didn’t think they’d do it but I like it. You stack up on OL with all those 3rds and suddenly our OL can look decent and Sam has LEGIT weapons. A true #1, a borderline #1 as his 2, and Terrance as a 3.. along with CMC? Got damn

Tannehill was WAY better in Miami than Darnold ever was in NY, but keep ignoring that.
Yeah that 51.3 QBR his first 3 years in Miami. I forget Sam got 6 years in NY too.. oh wait

Sorry did we mortgage our future for him or pick him up for relative peanuts?
I just can't keep up.
Just depends what illogical fallacy they’re trying to peddle at the time. I can’t keep up

There's a word for a #3 overall pick who gets jettisoned for relative peanuts after three years to bring in his replacement. That word is "trash".
Uh huh. Just like tannehill was trash too right

I haven't read this thread since page 34, mildly following the draft on tv so...fill me in on what's happened?
Just the cliff notes, thank you in advance.
Everyone who has been pissed about our draft strategy the past 4 years is pissed we’re doing something different… cause logic

Brady has to be rethinking his decision to take this job as we've invested all our resources into defense and outside of Robby Anderson have pretty much only added trash that we hope turns into treasure on that side of the ball.
??? Top 3 RB, top 5 WR Corp, former top 3 pick who is like 23 years old at QB. He has weapons and if he’s as good as made out to be, he will make them all legit.

This is why trading back can backfire at times. You plan to get a guy at a certain spot and right before you get on the clock another team nabs him. But, there are 31 other teams in the league. If you like a guy, chances are one of the other front offices around the league will feel the same way.
It’s almost like we like someone else and think we can get him at 59 while also accumulating more picks

I think it makes sense we were waiting for him to drop to us and be patient or move up when he was a bit closer, but our first day 2 pick was on Terrace when Mond was still there. So yeah I have hard time buying it too
