  1. Yeah, I had no idea of his background even when watching him last year. Funnily enough, one of my first thoughts watching him was, "Who tf is this guy and where did he come from?" But the more I watched him, the more I was impressed. I think he has starter potential, honestly. From what I saw, he might not be great at any one thing, but he's good at a lot of things, and just seems to have that grit and headiness to him.
  2. I watched a Cards preseason game a week or two ago and was wondering where he went, becausei watched him extensively last year and was thoroughly impressed.
  3. Also, I haven't kept up with him since that draft, but the Jags fans' reviews sound like this dude is Legedu Naanee part deux.
  4. I remember there being a lot of hype as him being a steal for whoever took him that draft. So I love the acquisition... but, I have no effing idea how this fits with how the roster is currently constructed. Higgins and Shi were emerging as big time contributors. Robbie and DJ are starters. Roberts is guaranteed a spot as a returner. And TMJ was a second round pick last year. My guess is TMJ is gone.
  5. It's why it's tough for me to really get excited even though looking at the talent we have, and guys like Wilks and McAdoo on the staff, we have plenty of reason to be. Rhule is just a lingering fart over it all.
  6. Well, the harder they make him coach, they make him coach harder before it takes 7 years to become an overnight sensation or something like that.
  7. Yeah, I was big on Ian and his potential since we drafted him. Loved the pick, but it just seems like, even despite the constant vouch from Olsen, that he just doesn't have "it." Whatever it is. We re-signed him, so we can only hope for the best now... maybe a bit of a late bloomer like Barnidge was. But regardless of what Ian does or doesnt do, I feel like Howard should be brought in if he is released.
  8. But Sam Darnold was nice to Matt Rhule when he met him! P.S. - And I love Jaycee, but I agree. You have to figure out QB first with any roster if you want to win, and everyone but Rhule knew Darnold was trash. Oh well... but, imagine if Baker turns out to be our franchise guy, AND we have the premiere lockdown corner of the league in Horn... I won't even care what Fields is doing.
  9. I remember there was actually a lot of interest from our team in Howard that draft. Alas, I don't know that there is many if any people left from that front office still in the building, so probably doesn't amount to much.
  10. Damn. I had a feeling the way Zane's happened and looked though that it may be a groin tear and would take him out for the year. That sucks. And here we are, on the kicker treadmill once again.
  11. Yikes. I hate to speculate, but it's the internet, so I will... Zane's injury did not look like a strain. His reaction was severe and immediate, so I hope it's not a tear, but at the least it looks like a very severe strain and he'll be out a good while. I suspect Darnold had a fracture, but if it's a high sprain, he'll also be out 4-6 weeks minimum. Regardless, hate to see a guy get injured, but Sam was not helpful even if healthy and should've been cut regardless. I don't like that he was injured, buy I like that it forces the staff to look elsewhere because Sam was wasted reps and a roster spot, period. I'd like to see us bring in a young developmental prospect if one becomes available, or just a trusty old vet in the mold of a Case Keenum-type of guy. Gonna be an interesting couple of weeks... and honestly, kicker is a much scarier situation than QB right now. I like the suggestion some made of the young guy from here that the Steelers just cut. I also am curious where the ECU guy from the Ravens preseason last year is? The Canadian guy with the funny name last season seemed solid as well. All I know is, things just got real. Real fast.
  12. That was tonight's great line from Smitty... "If Geno Smith plays as bad as I think he will, it may as well be Jeno James."
  13. Lol is it just me or does Babicz, at least just in appearance/build, look very Gronk-ish?
  14. Even with that fumble, I take him over Chubba.
  15. Well, I know it's relatively quick to figure out from their inability to put weight on it and such, but idk... just seems like it usually takes them longer to definitively diagnose that. But, either way, I'm thinking that's minimum 4 weeks, more likely 6.
  16. All while being horrible at his job. Imagine!
  17. Yeah, that's was my thought... a fracture or high ankle sprain, but it usually seems like it takes a bit longer for them to evaluate/diagnose and then rule out guys with high ankle sprains. This seemed quicker.
  18. Yeah, and Cam's most recent statements suggests he is still looking for a starting gig, and I don't blame him. But if he were to come back, even just that added dimension at the goal line would be another incredible weapon to have... But I agree, it feels like the relationship is done from both sides.
  19. Actually, it looks worse the more I have seen it. I'm willing to bet something is broken considering how quickly they ruled him out.
  20. I agree. He should've been cut even if healthy. But they won't do that... Rhule is gonna do his boy a solid.
  21. I know PJ had some brain facts here and there, but that's why I like him. He can actually read a defense, process it, and make a play and occasional accurate pass and when he strings them together, we can drive the field... all things Sam cant and doesnt do.
