Hurts has been horrible this game. And I'll tell you this, it doesn't matter who he is coaching, I can tell by their style of play and I absolutely hate him for that style - Dan Quinn. Dude is an asshole, and his teams play like assholes. Aside from that, Diggs is extremely impressive. Parsons too. Their defense looks fast and athletic. I have always liked Dak, but I'm just not all that impressed with their offense. But all in all, I definitely think next week is a huge challenge. Their defense versus our OL is my biggest concern right now.

Oh okay... yeah, I don't want to play armchair psychologist, but it's tough to tell nowadays with social media, whether someone is sharing such things (or liking it in this case) because there is motivation behind it, or if it's simply signaling there is an issue that they are trying to draw attention to. There is also people that just like drawing attention to those sort of things, simply because it sounds edgy and mysterious. Full disclosure, as someone who has struggled with anxiety and depression for most of my life, I certainly empathize with anyone who deals with any mental health issue. But, I don't necessarily think that's a red flag so much as shooting off a flare to draw attention to an issue. To me, it should be taken into account with the highest degree of concern and care, but it just as easily could simply be linked back to him wanting to get away from the environment he's in. If you're constantly dealing with people that want something from you and feel like no one really has your best interest at heart, or even care about you, I don't think it's too hard to find yourself liking and tweeting such things. But for me, I know I sound like a broken record, but knowing Rhule and Fitt believe in him, and that we apparently treat our guys like this is a family environment here, I'm really confident he'll feel and be much better now.

Yeah, but that doesn't change much, imo. I know you're technically not "looking a man in the eye" in-person, but you still can get a good feel on the person. And the background checks they do on these guys is probably about as thorough as you can get. Every year we hear about guys who have personality, behavior, mental issues, or even something as small as the people they hang around with causing problems. They find any and everything that could potentially be a detriment to them playing high-level football. For some reason, when reading about him, I keep thinking about Dalvin Cook. Remember how he was flagged by teams, from what I recall, for the people he hung around and off-field/character concerns. It seems getting away from Florida was a game-changer for him. I saw he even went back to FSU since being a pro and finished his degree and graduated. No problems off the field, even earned an extension, and is one of the best backs in the league when healthy. And one thing we know about Rhule, is one of the tenets of his program is he wants "football players" and "guys that love to play the game." I'm just confident he wouldn't bring this guy in if he thought that wasn't the case. He hasn't brought anyone in that didn't fit that description before, so I'm confident this move will pan out with the change of scenery. I'd imagine if you're constantly fighting off hanger-ons for wanting your money and time and desperately want to escape that environment, I'd imagine I would be pretty closed off too. And if you're one and only goal is to gtfo of that environment, I wouldn't be trying to establish any relationships either if i'm planning to leave as soon as possible. I will say, the tweets and such people were saying were "suicidal" from last summer, unless he deleted some, from what I saw seemed pretty benign. A lot of inspirational quotes and "me against the world" type quotes. Didnt seem worrisome compared to what most people share on social media. I will say this though, for someone of his celebrity and age, he is not very active at all on social media... last IG post was Sept. 10th and Twitter was from last year, IIRC. But again, that could be from trying to share as little as possible because of the environment and people that were around him. I trust Rhule and Fitt.

Seattle did pretty well with their favorite child.

The amount of work front offices and coaches do on these guys before the draft would definitely vet out any red flags, so the fact that both Fitt and Rhule were trying to make this happen should be all the confidence one needs.

2nd rounder and a 3rd for a future Armanti Edwards.

Panthers Signing Rashaan Melvin to Active Roster

Good question... I'm surprised we signed Melvin to the 53 after bringing CJ in too. Maybe we're missing something? -
Per ESPN App.

An old friend of ours got injured last night
Proudiddy replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
Damn, I always get scared with those generalized injury designations. But when I saw it, I was hoping it was just a pec thing... but, I'll never forget about that story with DJ Hayden in college, which makes it scary with stuff like that, especially if he was coughing up blood. Thats just crazy, and the fact that everything checked out good afterwards. Glad to hear he's ok and hope he's back on the field ASAP. Josh is a good dude. -
Only the real ones know.

Panthers about to trade for CJ Henderson?!?!
Proudiddy replied to joemac's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah. But to be fair, if I had been drafted by the Jags, I may have suddenly become suicidal too. In all seriousness, mental health is serious and should be treated as such. We all deal with things from time to time, so everyone can relate... again, knowing that Rhule had interviewed him and everything during the draft process and our organization approach to mental health gives me the utmost confidence. I hope the young man just got a little more pep in his step in finding a new home here. -

Yeah he looks pissed. And his mother looks like she was laughing when they first announced it. I trust Rhule's read on people... and if they had the chance to interview him and such in the draft process, and still wanted him, then I believe it had to be he just didn't want to be in JAX. -

Any idea what the issue was on JAX for them to have given up on him? -

Damn son. I love me some Fitt. This dude is a fuging maniac and the traumatized Panther fan in me just wants to give that big old bear a hug for fixing all of the poo the previous two GMs left behind in less than a year. I just want to cry tears of joy in his arms between the moments where he isn't using them to wheel and deal and pillage other teams of their talent. Fitt. You are the one.

Wow!!!! WTF!?!?!? Not happy about giving up another 3rd, but he was a great prospect coming out and I believe in this staff's ability to develop talent to their fullest potential. This could be a huge get. A couple of other things... crazy we've traded away or released like half of our FA class lol. And the amount of hype the Darnold to Arnold thing had me believing he was a valued part of the offense for the foreseeable future in the staff's eyes. I was never impressed though... And I guess the staff wasn't either lol. And lastly, I hope we still bring in Sherman. Interested to see if we're still interested after this. -
Hey guys, remember that time Brian Burns sacked Jameis and the refs ruled it was an incomplete pass instead of a fumble bc the defender caused him to throw it backwards by hitting him? Yeah, that was cool.
-
Great point. It indeed has made a huge difference. We really didn't realize how much JR was holding us back with his penny pinching until he was gone.

Definitely feel like it's starting to shift under Rhule. I feel we're on that precipice similar to what happened in Seattle once Schneider and Carroll got there.

Hey guys, remember how after just having the most watched TNF game in years and having a great performance from our rejuvenated young QB in a win despite all of the injuries we incurred, the next day national media glossed over it to talk for hours on end about Justin Fields getting his first start? ...
-
Cam came in here with one good receiver and a TE and lit the world on fire as a rookie. Team building is part of it, but some of this stuff is just bad. Going back to HS, if you throw late, bad things happen, and that flea flicker throw was about as late as they get... Lawrence can't do that, regardless of the staff or team around him. They had the lead... no reason to do that there. Now, as I mentioned with Fields, Nagy has shown himself to be a QB killer at this point, and a pretty crappy coach. So, I think its entirely possible the system is not helping Fields. But again, some of the decisions he has made when the read looks pretty simple and consistently locking onto one read and one read only, the early results are not encouraging.

I'm loving it. May they suffer through an eternity of mediocrity from this point on.
-
Yeah, I'm over it, but it does suck to just never get any respect. No matter the years that go by, the amount of time we've been in the league, the players and coaches that come and go, a change in ownership - we have to be the most disrespect or at minimum, the least respected team in the league.
