  1. He definitely was. And he played for the basketball team the same time Pep played both football and basketball... Good times. I remember us recruiting him out of VA as a two-sport guy, but I'd didn't keep uo heavy with that stuff then, I just knew the hype was he was one of the greatest athletes out of HS ever... I still wish an NFL team would've given him a shot as a QB. He ended up being a solid receiver despite the position change, but I think the achilles injury really derailed his pro career. But man, he was fun to watch in college... I used to trade for him in Madden Franchise and try to turn him into a star for the Panthers.
  2. I hate the broncos since SB50, but I like Javonte Williams as a fellow Heel and NC native and I feel horrible for him... he is getting teed off on. He is a damn good RB... it just seems like he has no blocking whatsoever. Either that or this Niners front 4/7, even with backups is just ridiculous.
  3. Good observation. That is super weird. It just seems they're really unorganized and unprepared and as a result, they're scrambling in the moment every game.
  4. I bet he's telling thr OLinemen, "Broncos Country, let's ride!"
  5. That was a Rhule-esque challenge from Hackett.
  6. Yeah, I got weird vibes off Hackett after watching that first game and the following presser... then he brought in that advisor this week... You just get the feeling he is in way over his head. They as a team look dysfunctional, indecisive, and panicked. Even Russ looks rattled. Despite Seattle having one of the worst OLs during his time there, I don't ever recall seeing him get hit so much as he has this first few weeks in Denver. He was always able to move around just enough to escape it... he is getting destroyed tonight. And from the presser I saw from Hackett after week 1, dude sounded like he was on speed.
  7. Just sounds like another guy in over his head. I know he wants to believe he was going to inherit the reins and they wouldn't skip a beat, but anyone that watched his time in Oakland could see, he just doesn't have "it" as a head coach. Also, interestingly enough, what I learned from that article was that was Ronald Curry who Jameis got into the spat with on their sideline. Wow. I was a huge Ronald Curry fan growing up... I had no idea that was him when they showed him during the broadcast.
  8. I know the schedule is already made, but st least for flex games, I sure hope the networks don't schedule anymore Broncos games for prime time.
  9. From the tweet I shared last week... So the 13th worst head coach in NFL history defeated the 7th worst coach in NFL history (going into this game). A win is a win I suppose, but it's also all about perspective. We are bad, but the Aints are worse. I'd like to think we laid some foundational blocks of momentum that will carry into future games, but I don't think we did. We just beat a team that happens to somehow be worse than us.
  10. In the words of the great Dave Chappelle via Rick James, "I wish I had more hands... so I could give [those titties] that video four thumbs down!"
  11. Also, Tua definitely had a concussion. I've got back issues, and it doesn't look like that... and if it did, you aren't coming right back in the 2nd half.
  12. Never knew that story, but sounds about right... I know he damn sure figured our poo out in his stint in ATL.
  13. I've been seeing a lot of articles and videos and such breaking down how bad he has looked so far in Denver... like, not seeing wide open receivers right in front of him, the debacle of going with the FG week 1 instead of going for the first down, etc. He looks like he is being exposed. I don't know what it was about the offense in Seattle, but he has looked quite different out of it.
  14. It was more last season, combined with the Cleveland PI, then the play today, and there was 1 or 2 more catches where he was in good position and got outmuscled for the ball this season, which it seems like happens a lot compared to his ability to actually make a play on the ball.
  15. I'm telling you... Shanahan could sign his entire offense off the street and in a week put up 28 points. I used to think dude was just the beneficiary of nepotism at its finest until he ended dup with ATL for that bit and that changed my mind QUICK. Dude can call an offense blindfolded, cuffed, in earmuffs from a remote location in a soundproof dungeon in Middle Earth.
  16. We had a few guys step up and I loved the energy and effort for the most part... but we gave up 353 pass yards and I believe it was 84 rush yards. The difference was the turnovers and that the Saints are a bad team. And the turnovers were created by the players more than the scheme.
  17. For the most part, he has been cheeks. But, as a natural box safety, I don't expect him to perform as well on an island as a corner should. I love Chinn and wish he was better in coverage because he has all the size and physical gifts to be amazing... I just don't think he has great timing or instincts in pass coverage. He really excels in the box and anything we get coverage-wise is a bonus at this point, or at least that's what I've come to accept.
  18. Actually according to Rhule's Presser, we had a play designed for him earlier in the game and they took him away, and then the play he scored on wasn't even designed for him, or at least he wasn't the primary... they took away the primary so Baker checked it down to Laviska, and he did all the heavy lifting from there. But as I said in the game thread, the plays he made today came off simple routes and duties that he could've done week 1 with little to no familiarity with our "system" (KRs, flat and drag routes). So I just don't know why he wasn't playing earlier. He is dynamic.
  19. I concede those are good numbers and there is plenty of season left, so we will see. I just think he has committed an inordinate amount of bad plays that you just don't see many other corners committing on a consistent basis. It would be in our best interest if he is the guy those stats would indicate... From the eye test, I just don't trust it. We'll see.
  20. And yeah, Staley is on the fast track out of there. No disrespect to JAX but after LAC assembled the team they did, you can't lose to them by 28 points.
