Completely washed. We have backup caliber QB starting and a guy who should be out of the league backing him up. Oof.
I’d argue we don’t have a legit coaching staff either.
More of Tepper ball, won’t end til he’s gone.

So this is what the panthers look like vs a legit team.

I thought for sure they were going to hurry up offense and take another shot on 4th…but you try and switch personnel with no time and rush a kick?
lol just sad

This is horrific football.

Coverage is obvious solid, though.
True, but it’s only a matter of time as the game goes on. Coverage typically doesn’t last past 3.5 seconds or so no matter how good it is.
McD is going to adjust for that and it’s going to be bad.

if only we had 9 seconds every play to sack the QB

Hope I am wrong but Dalton is going to be an issue this game
If it makes you feel any better I doubt he’ll be worse than Bryce.
That said the Bills will have to beat themselves for the Panthers to have a chance.

Defensive line is just bad. 5 sacks until the Jets game. Just awful. Can’t beat a good team with that.

Should’ve signed him or traded him for ransom.
Instead the inept panthers chose option C.
Brown will be wasted here without some other above average dline/rush talent, even just one player.

The best before he got hurt and now that he’s back, ain’t a damn thing changed.
I think the best is he got paid and performs
Shame it appears he will be wasted with a poo supporting staff, even average ends would be feasting with Brown
meanwhile opposing qbs have all day…Jets game aside

“grossly overvalued from a fan and media standpoint, creating an absurd fixation on the results delivered by a single player who has to rely on the contributions of everyone around them. This also drives the dreaded inflation of QB salaries”
What drives those insane QB salaries is not the media and fans it’s the organizations realizing how important the position is.
Of course lots of things go into a successful team but it is clear there are VERY few examples of Super Bowl winners that had a team good enough to be champs without elite QB play and in contrast SEVERAL examples of champs with other positions lacking.

Defending him must be a nightmare. They need to plant their feet so he doesn't just bull rush them. When they do plant their feet, he will just go around them. Even double teams don't work.
Ehh, teams earlier this season double and tripled teamed him with decent success. The reason he beasted out so much with Miami was for some reason they did not much at all. Bad call on their part.
But that is his purpose. If he is eating up people that is huge, and theoretically should give others the ability to make a play. But his surrounding cast to do that isn’t great.
Brown is something OCs have to put a lot of time to plan for.

Bryce getting credit for putting out a house fire he started?
No. Young is not a NFL QB. His ceiling is a back up.
But I do agree with not benching him. Give him the season then move on.

If this team won anything today is was overcoming #9.

Really sad a 69 year has to door dash in the richest country in the world. And deal with this idiot on top of it which I’m sure wasn’t the first.

Is Huddle traffic down? On the surface it seems negatively doesn't hurt engagement
I think anyone around here at this point is truly a fan (or masochist) and yet another disappointing season doesn’t matter. Where’s that converted Jets fan lol…wonder if this is worse or better.
But I remember when this joint first started (third username) and it was much busier. Even when places like Reddit started taking over in place of forums.
My newish girl didn’t have a NFL team but liked college football and loves watching. Last year I got Her a Panther shirt she wears on game days. She was excited.
But I’ll be damned it’s near impossible to get anyone to be a fan of this team, she says now they just aren’t exciting despite still watching with me and wearing her shirt.
Tepper is just pure poo.
-
Luke knows what a poo pile Tepper is and has turned this franchise into, he wouldn’t do it.
-
I’ll eat my crow on this one, I did not like the pick. Still unknown long term but he is showing way more than I thought he would. Rookie WRs usually take time.
Sadly it seems his potential/talent will be wasted here, poorly developed, or traded away.

Under Richardson, the Panthers W/L record was just outside the bottom 1/3rd of the NFL. Not good. Records including the Super Bowl(s) were closest to….the Jets and Jaguars. Again, not good.
Just because Tepper is ass, and mediocrity seems great now doesn’t mean it wasn’t JR’s time to go. Unfortunately, we just got stuck with a shitty owner who’d rather fail on his terms than win with help. He wants the credit.

I’m willing to give him and Morgan a season without Young
I don’t understand this mindset, that’s just not how it works. At least with a rookie QB. Those changes take time. Much more than a year.
And if you’re hoping for a worthwhile vet QB…that wants to play here and doesn’t decline like the others I’m not sure who that’ll be.

I'm All In On Drafting a QB in Round 1
in Carolina Panthers

The problem is FA QBs with options won’t come here. Including trades even if we want to overpay. We get leftovers thanks to Tepper. The only hope is to draft one, and that’s a big hope since the Panthers don’t know how to draft.
Very similar to the Browns.
