I think it's good to have both. They can work off each other.

Because some people are measuring it on overall value of draft picks vs the result of the players selected with those picks. On draft pick value, we got robbed. On the actual result, it's probably a wash to be honest. I don't think many people are going to remember this trade outside of Panthers and Bears fan circles. Unless one of the QBs ends up winning a Super Bowl or being a HOF inductee, nobody will remember.

Honestly that's not even a guy you want as a backup. The last thing you want is your safety valve to be made of glass. I'd take another player with less talent that can finish a season.

I don't know if the order of operations fits, but I'm glad Mays has shown he can play in this league. We missed out on the top guys, but we may have made out alright regardless. Even if Mays is just a bridge, its encouraging to see his improvement since being drafted. As a rookie I wasn't sure that he was going to stick.

Everybody wants one guy to blame. But the truth is our players got punched in the mouth, and they are playing completely intimidated. If you think playing musical chairs with head coach is the solution to that problem, I don't know what to tell you. They don't have confidence in themselves, because Florida is schooling them on the ice and beating the crap out of them while they do it. We have one of the most well run organizations in the NHL and you guys are ready to burn the building down because we ran into a buzz saw that goes on to win the SC. And to top it all off, SC wasn't supposed to even be in the cards for expectations this year. If we lost in Game 7 last series, nobody would be talking like this. But because we're getting swept in the ECF now it's time to fire Rod. Maybe the team does need a fresh voice, but tantrum throwing over exceeding this season's expectations is pretty ridiculous.

I agree that roster construction is a bigger issue than Rod. I don't know what coach behind the bench is winning this series. We weren't even supposed to compete this year, but people are mad because we're getting swept in the ECF again. If we lost in 7 last round people wouldn't feel that way.

The current roster just isn't built to deal with Florida or the Vegas team that won. We don't have anybody that other teams hate.

Florida's just better than everyone right now. That's why they won the cup last year. Their dirty playstyle is strong in the playoffs. Similar to the Vegas team that won.

I mean it sucks but I don't know how you all can throw such a hissy fit over making it to the ECF (again) in a reloading year. Honestly more embarrassing than the team.
