He threw it into the guys helmet

Both teams getting sacked on 3rd and long. Strap in. It's gonna be a boring one.

I think the WFT uniforms looked better than the Commanders version. Should have just slapped the new W on them.

Bring it on. I love awful football.

It'll be interesting to see how Philly does in the playoffs this year. They run a lot.

The best chance to hit doesn't mean its a good chance.

Well I should qualify, I'm mostly talking about guys who are drafted in the 1st round when I say top prospects. First round QBs have a higher hit rate than guys drafted in later rounds. That's observable. And on the intangible stuff, that's what really makes a QB. If you have a guy that can deliver the ball to the right spot at the right time, it doesn't really matter what their athletic profile is. It's more about making the right decisions in a very limited amount of time. An endless refining of their game as far as how they feel the pocket, how they move, etc. But finding someone with that potential and matching them with the right situation is incredibly rare. Franchise QBs are just rare because it's the toughest position to play. You can argue its difficult to teach a super freak athlete to be a great pocket QB. I'd agree. But I think it's hard to teach anyone that, because how many other Tom Brady's are there? Nobody else is really on that level. There are multiple freak athlete QBs starting in the NFL today. I'm just saying you're going to have a much better hit rate on QB's in the first round whether they are freak athletes or Mac Jones.

Sounds of ping pong in the background

I want to say the latter, but the more I think about it the more it seems like a wash. Most QB prospects are unsuccessful, and athletes like Cam Newton or Josh Allen are incredibly rare to begin with. I think you have the best chance of finding a franchise QB if you're taking chances on better prospects. Whether that's a top level prospect on an athletic level or the other end of the spectrum. If we're waiting for a 3rd-5th round pick or a guy like Eason to come along and be the guy, I think we're going to be waiting for a very long time. That's one of the worrying things about Fitterer's philosophy for me. He hasn't come out and said it, but it seems like he thinks we can find another Russell Wilson on a discount rack in the draft or FA/trade.

Brady's high level of awareness in the pocket combined with his footwork makes him good at buying time and evading the rush (for a pure pocket passer type). Combine that with his Gumby like physique and pliability, and he is heavily resistant to injuries as well.
-
And I think Bledsoe would have a hard time in today's game. There's a reason why the player comparison here is from 20 years ago.
-
He has good size and a big arm. But he's a literal statue in the pocket. There's a good reason he wasn't drafted until the 4th round.
-
Defend what? I'm just pointing out that its interesting Eason is getting 1st team reps. If the 2nd team QB is getting 1st team reps every week then that's news to me.
-
His biggest problem is when things break down. He has a big arm, but he is literally worse than Steve Beurlein in the pocket. Very bad mobility combined with no sense of pressure or where/when to step up ala Tom Brady.
-
So was PJ getting first team reps before Baker got hurt? Is that normal?
-
That's actually interesting. I feel like if Rhule were still here PJ would be getting all the reps.
-
How have I never seen that? I'm dying

How could we not give Fitt another chance?!?
PNW_PantherMan replied to DMathematics's topic in Carolina Panthers
Ideally yes. Why wouldn't we? Oh right, because then we'd have to hire someone. And the thought of hiring anyone is scarier than having Fitterer hire Dan Quinn. But that's where we'll just never see eye to eye. That's not going to be a winner, so its time to swing again. And on your point on the roster, there is no reason to gut the roster to solve a management issue. You gut the management team. -
It’s time to do this the right way
PNW_PantherMan replied to WUnderhill's topic in Carolina Panthers
I agree, and for me I'm hesitant to trade him for a 2nd. What are we going to do with that, draft another YGM or TMJ or trade for another Sam Darnold? I'd rather just have CMC. -
You’ve made a great case for firing Scott Fitterer. That list is awful.
