I really don’t understand why it bothers some that the Texans more than likely had Young over Stroud. There is a lot that points to it like Ryans still not saying who their top QB was after he got Stroud, he just said “we had Young and Stroud ranked high.” You have players celebrating that win that dropped them to 2… I mean if Stroud was QB1 to them they win didn’t matter right? You have a former reporter for Houston saying he thinks they would have picked Young if they had the top pick. Again it’s all for nothing as they lucked out and landed Stroud. If they had a big gap between the two they would have jumped up to secure their guy no matter who they “thought” we were going to draft. Thats too big of a risk to take if Stroud was their guy all along.

if the texans wanted young they would have young.  the bears would have easily traded to 2 then again with either the panthers or indy and probably gotten more of that haul then even what we offered.  The bears knew they could move back again easily if they dropped to 2.  The texans played the game and won and we didnt

Here's a chart of NFL teams. If you count the NBA and MLB, it gets a lot more crowded since some of those arenas/ballparks/stadiums are a lot older.

And here's a bit more general information for you, all cities have a diverse population and a poo ton of transplants.

but but but tourism or something

    la - tourism

san fran - tourism and not close to center city

houston - far from center city

nyc - you mean new jersey and it's cutoff

chicago - just outside of center city not near businesses. plus tourism.

miami - not center city and tourism

tampa - in the burbs next to highway

atl - this is close to our situation but atl gets a lot of tourism

dc - not at all like us besides transplants

seattle - close but i still say they get a decent amount of tourism due to pacNW location

phoenix - might as well be in a desert.

wow you really and truly havent a clue what we are talking about here. How in the fug didnt I see that before?

transplant city containing a large population of fans from all over, willing to pay to see their team play in person. with the stadium strategically positioned by hundreds of restaurants and bars.

show me a similar city in that research to charlotte. you go ask those businesses in uptown if it matters.

im not a bot but unlike you im actually a fan of the panthers and enjoy them in my city. you can go kick it in Raleigh and watch hockey.

by businesses you talking bars and restaurants right?  I mean we can argue the economic impact of professional sporting teams all day back and forth but aint no way Charlotte or meck county should be giving a man worth 23 billion a fuging penny of money.

No one‘s talking about the 15 year agreement that would tie the team to the city so a lot of the “he’s trying to move the team away” takes can subside

NC is one of the fastest growing states in the country.  No way in hell he even tries to bluff that he would move the team.

yea that'll show em! take our team away and go make revenue for local businesses in another city why don't ya?! ....meanwhile i'll sit here in the fall and rewatch shows on the streaming app i paid $200 for this year. HOW DARE THEY ask for pennies on the dollar from my taxes to pay for something that improves the city i live in....

The nfl would award us an expansion 24 hours after the announcement was made.  Since we are basically an expansion team now at least we would get a new owner

The few big boards I've seen so far are not high on QBs, one didn't have the first QB on their board until 10.  I really hope by the end of the season we see 3 qbs in the top 5 or 6.

Not because I want us to draft one, but because we all know there is a good chance we'll be drafting in the top 5, possibly even #1.  Considering what we gave up to Chicago to take a flyer on a QB at #1, we could get a real haul of picks to rebuild.

And before someone says something foolish like "if we're picking first, we'll pick another QB," we're not unless a can't miss player that we just cant pass up is available.

Bryce deserves a chance with a new coach, an Oline, and some receivers that can get open.  We'll be closer to making a decision on him after next season.

If we are picking first in 2025 then something has gone tragically wrong and we are looking at 3ish wins.  And with that you can bet your ass we are getting another qb.  And yes I understand that the jags just had this happen but that is completely different

There seems to be a lot of confusion between consensus value and your own personal preference.

He was a 3rd rounder among most respected analysts (Dane Brugler etc.). We drafted him in the third round. Hence it was not some kind of crazy reach. Very different from DJ Johnson last year.

I think it's the fact the we drafted another raw athletic project not necessarily where he was picked.

There were 3 reality checks last year.

    1) The joint practice/preseason game with the Jets showed everyone the team wasn't what everyone at BOA stadium thought it was.

The Jet game/practices/hard knocks was truly the "wtf is happening" moment for the 2023 team.  Everything looked whacked but some on here just cried "preseason doesnt matter" when in fact it clearly does.

Why are people so butthurt? He’s saying bet the over at 4.5 wins. Not like he’s saying bet the over at 8 or 9 wins. And he’s not the first person I’ve seen make the Jaguars comparison. Trevor Lawrence’s rookie season numbers with a complete train wreck around him were just as terrible as Bryce’s. It’s not really that crazy.

Nobody is butthurt and it's 5.5 and he is saying panthers are going to win 8 or 9 which is pretty wild all things considered.  He is just leaning into his hot take and making the radio/podcast rounds.

The politics of football rosters is well known. You just can't trade what they did for him and sit him. That can't happen.

The was guaranteed(barring injury) the instant that trade was made. No matter who we had drafted, they were the starter.

You are right but thats a crazy strategy now looking in hindsight.  Kid wasnt ready at all.  Dangerous situation all things considered and its completely ruined qbs in the past.
