I've long thought the 49ers might be a dark horse for Deshaun Watson given that there's a long-standing relationship between Adam Peters and Nick Caserio.

That move makes too sense.  He is custom built for that offense.  The question would be what package could they present?  All of 2021, 1rst and 2nd next year?

As I've said before, the 49ers are the only team that really makes sense to me.  That's the reason I'm hoping they trade for a QB.  I doubt the Patriots jump up all the way from #15.  Denver seems to be giving Lock another look.  I really can't see anyone else.

San Fran (and Indy for that matter) have rosters to win now.  They dont want to wait on a rookie qb to develop.  They are built for now so I think they go the vet route.  I guess in theory the Pats could move up but that is one expensive move to make and I just dont see the pats doing that.

Like I have screamed for a while now, stay at 8 and let the draft come to you.  In the astronomical event that 4 qb's go in the top 7 then the value of #8 skyrockets and trading back would be the move.

So if Foles goes back to the Eagles and they have Hurts, do the Eagles still draft a QB?  I think Foles knows he'd be a bridge QB and Hurts would be the heir apparent.  Drafting another young QB makes little sense, IMO.

Eagles are not drafting a qb

Jones will most definitely be there and shouldn’t be drafted till round 2. People talking him up is ridiculous. I think Lance only playing one game this year will hurt him and he will at least be there till we pick.

FYI Todd McShay talks in length about Jones https://www.theringer.com/2021/2/12/22280617/2021-first-round-qbs-and-mahomes-stories-with-todd-mcshay-plus-russell-wilson.

In a nutshell says Jones is everything you want in a qb.  All the intangibles, nice footwork in the pocket, has the ability to scramble for 5-7 yards if needed, incredible accuracy and can process plays quickly.  However yes he did play with like 9 first rounders and yes his arm skillset is limited beyond 25 yards.  Not that he cannot make the throws but a bunch of times this year he under threw his wr.  (sounds familiar)

    Just passing this along

NY and Miami are the wildcards. I don't see many scenarios in which one or both of the two teams doesn't trade back with a team in need of a QB.

The only way they wouldn't trade back is if, say, one of them completes a trade with Houston for Deshaun, figures Darnold (or Miami sticks with Tag) is worth a shot at QB and then decides to draft Sewell or Slater to help with protection.

There is simply no scenario in which Fields or Wilson fall beyond pick #4 otherwise.

    Somebody falls.  These always do.

Trent Williams would be pricey but possibly available. Orlando Brown Jr.  Others we’re not aware of. I’d give up next year’s second for Brown. If we can’t find a long term fix, then get a short term fix for now and try again next year. QB is more important to address than LT and takes longer to develop. If we have to wait til next year for an LT, they’re more likely to be ready day one than a QB

Orlando brown for just a second?  Good luck with that

That’s not really that bad of a deal. I’m not sold on fields but I’d be cautiously optimistic. I would expect moving up to 3 to cost more than that. Fields in the first, OG in the second, get a LT via FA or trade, LB in the fourth.  Depending on how quick Fields gets ready, we’ll be set

What lt is there I FA?  Who are you trading for and what are you giving up?  It’s imperative to build our line through the draft and stop doing quick fix solutions

Colts offered 2 2nd for Wentz... not even a first

NFL analyst Ron Jaworski reports the Colts have offered "two second-round draft picks" for Carson Wentz.

It's the best offer the Eagles have for Wentz. The Eagles are holding out for a Matthew Stafford type deal, but that's not going to happen. Teams have been unwilling to even offer a late first-round pick for Wentz. The Wentz market has cooled in recent weeks, with Chicago reportedly losing interest. Philly is going to have to come off its asking price to trade Wentz this offseason.

That’s actually pretty fair all things considered
