Not a rebuild when you sign a backup QB for $60 million and then beat a bad Washington team to drop you from pick 3-4 to 8. If we had Kyle Allen at QB last season and have the 4th pick right now then I would agree with you.
It’s a rebuild when you only have one guy under contract that plays on the oline. I don’t count Daley or little

I don't think that'd do it, but Miami would be my target.
They pick up a first. Move down 4 spots and still get a person they target due to the run on qbs. No brainer actually

Also not listed here - Miami.
Sure, Miami could use their #3 overall pick on a young QB, but that means giving up on Tua and I just don't think that's reasonable, yet. Tua needs time.
If Miami is smart, they trade out of the #3 spot and use those picks to build a better team around Tua. Bear in mind, Miami has two 2nd round picks this year and they could be used to trade for Stafford. If that happens, they get a QB on a reasonable deal who can be the bridge for Tua for a year or two. Miami was already good last year, this would be the final piece needed to get them over the top.
And, while their trading away their #3 overall pick, might I suggest a certain Carolina team that they could trade that to...
Trade to 3 give Miami 8 and next years first. They would do that

Yes, the Patriots did want Teddy last offseason. Bill was upset they didn't get him. Now, I am not sure they want him at $20 million, and that is the issue
Link?

You do if you're rebuilding and have the #7 overall pick in a stacked QB draft. At #8, we could be on the outside looking in on the run of elite QB prospects.
4 qbs in the first 7 picks is an absolute abnormality. Someone will drop.

Trade him for best return. I really think Bill and the Patriots would be interested. They wanted him last offseason when he unfortunately came here. He fits their short passing game
Nobody is trading for teddy bro. They didn’t want him last off season.

Deal! This team competes with Stafford.
- Add Stafford, pick 40 and 2022 1st
- CMC back healthy
- Young defense had no rookie camp, no pre-season, very little training camp, and all this while having a new coaching staff and system last year. They will be better going into next year.
What about teddy.

Hypothetical: 8#, CMC, Samuel.
They can draft a new guy at #8 and he'll have weapons. Fixed.
We can build around Watson and our defense. Fixed.
Jesus h Christ dude Samuel is a free agent.

Aside from Moton, none of them were worth keeping anyway.
Be that as it may you still need cap room and draft picks to build a line.

Big difference trading for a proven QB than a rookie prospect. Watson is worth it. I'm not usually a supporter of trading away a lot of draft assets, but the way Rhule coaches up players, I think this team could win in 2021 and beyond with Watson at QB.
Otherwise, they either need to hope one of the top QB's falls to them at 8, draft a rookie QB in the later rounds, or just suck it up and roll with Bridgewater for another season. Another all-defense draft might make for a top 5 defense in a year or two.
We literally have no offensive line right. As in nobody but paradis is signed. We ain’t competing for jack in 2021.

This has us trading the 8 pick for Stafford.
Needless to say I would lose my mind if we did this

And he's an inch taller and 5lbs lighter than Desean Watson. 5lbs is nothing. Nobody is complaining about Watson's size. Wilson can easily put on 10 pounds of muscle as a pro if it was wanted or needed.
Watson has 15-20 pounds of muscle on him easily
wilson is listed at 205. Watson is 220ish.

What all 4 off the board by 8?
Think just as good a chance that happens as Lawerence falling to 2
Has that ever happened before? 4 qbs in 7 picks is unheard of. Someone falls in every single draft. It just happens

Welp Daniel just update his Mock with Fields to Detroit and all 4 QBs off the board by our pick
That will never happen

Last I checked a healthy Deshaun Watson, who’s team went 10-6 lost to the Kyle Allen/Ron Rivera Panthers 16-10. Didn’t throw a single TD. Went 21-33 with 160 yards. So why are you guys trying to rip on Stafford that had a thumb injury and played for the Lions that were clearly not on board with Matt Patricia anymore. I’m not trying to be a Matt Stafford apologist here but a lot of the stuff people say on here is clearly biased.
I literally laughed out loud after reading this post

Everyone clamoring for Watson hasn't factored in the cost or lack therof in signing all of our core young guy's when their contract comes up.
Or the fact that we literally do not have an oline as of right now.

Watson has apparently made it clear he likes us and we like him too. C'mon make it happen. He WILL accept a trade to Carolina. That's obvious, get it done Fritter!
How has he made it clear?

32 is not old for a QB.
We could get a solid 5 years out of him easily and buy to to draft a guy we love that isn't in the top 5 of the draft.
He is 32 with a ton of miles racked up. His body is shot. Hard pass. Stick with the plan of drafting and developing a qb and keep all of your picks
