We also need a back that can pass block.  Chubba sucks in that area, and his hands are suspect.  So aside from toting the rock, he is a liability--especially when we become one-dimensional as you describe.

RB's are a dime a dozen. If he doesn't do something this season you draft another and keep on drafting them. Not in the first round though.

  2. The argument that him popping up around the city jokingly confronting people is going to help the fanbase is an interesting one.

Years back I finally started to see many new Panthers fans around Charlotte before he bought the team. Now I'm luck to see anyone with Panthers gear.

First order of business should be turning that around.

Last order of business is getting annoyed about criticism. Worry about that when the team actually stops being a doormat and a joke.

I’m really not a big proponent of banning. The problem is they themselves set a precedent when they banned a guy for arguing with the anti Bryce mod and being a “single issue poster”. BigKat and a couple others have been nothing but a festering pool of negativity. I’m not talking about reasonably acknowledgements that the team has been bad. I’m talking making every single thing negative. They tried to turn the thread about Atlanta taking Penix negative saying we aren’t allowed to have opinions about other teams failings because “Wahhhhh Panthers traded the #1 pick”. Now this thread when there’s literally a thousand other things to talk about as if anybody needs reminding about the trade again. He’s just constantly trying to bring the mood down and not discussing anything that the team is doing right now just dwelling on something that happened a year ago. I’m not sure why people who are so miserable about this team choose to come here and talk about it constantly and bring everybody down to their level of misery but it’s annoying af.

We're all frustrated. We can eat each other or we can have honest realistic no punches pulled discussions and also hope for the best it we so choose.

The poster you are referring to is not a example of silencing opinion though. That was Poundaway aka SBBlue who attacked anyone that said a negative word about the team and also later went down in flames on those previous accounts via meltdowns over Matt Rhule. Dude literally went down with the Rhule ship over it he defended that guy so much. Then came back and pretended nothing happened. Did the same thing with Bryce Young.

If you're going to use an example try not to use the mentally ill. Honestly the mods did him a favor. This place was not healthy for him.

Can we ban this guy yet or is the single issue poster thing just for people who’s single issue isn’t being constantly negative about Bryce Young?

Banning people for being negative about a football team that has only had like 7 winning seasons in nearly 30 years sounds like a good way to nuke your own community.

The noise isn't going to get any quieter once the season kicks off. We're going to be hearing about it until Bryce silences it. That's all there is to it.

  5. He really just walked in and took the hat right off a strangers head like he owned the place. He's old enough to be someone's grandfather.

Even if you can find a way to defend him this is just more bafflingly entitled behavior from the same man who threw a drink on an opposing fan. He is so thin skinned it is simply laughable. Just embarrassing. No way around it.

Seriously... Juan should be banned from posting twitter links if he's just going to post the links and not let them load into the posts first.

It's not that hard, more frustrating than just the idiots on here who post the most unrealistic ideas/situations.

I understand your frustration. But let's not be the place that bans folks for such frivolous reasons.

they said they would get him weapons.  As much as we said that Chubba was solid last year, he averaged 3.8 yards per carry...That should improve with linemen, however.

    In fairness to Chuba....

When every player on the defense and every fan in the stands knows we aren't going to pass because we have the worst pass offense in the league it makes it tough to run for any back.

But we need a one two punch backfield we need someone that offers a different skillset we need a bruiser type to compliment him.

I know!  He'll make a mistake in practice and then he's an all-time bust, by Huddle Logic.

People are reactionary I agree. That's just sports fandom. We all can get that way at some time or another.

But on the flip side. We also can't write too much from camp even if certain players wow us. Wasn't TMJ a camp hero a couple times then he disappeared in preseason?

Man we've just had it rough all around. Tepper criticism aside. This fanbase has earned something worth watching at minimum.

TMJ really didn't though. He was the third receiver on that stellar group and has 1600 yds in 3 years; Mingo's one year was more yards than TMJ's best year. TMJ being a stupid pick as well doesn't make Mingo better and Carolina just spent another high pick on another 1-year wonder college WR, though XL's peak appears much higher than those 2.

We aren't really on a different page here. I'm just expecting nothing NFL-worthy from Mingo.

He had 23 touchdowns in 2 seasons. Most of us assumed TMJ would be a major red zone threat.

At the end of the day he seems to have fallen into the Dwayne Jarrett category. He just doesn't want it.

Maybe Mingo could end up the same. Too early to call.

Wayyyyyyy too early to call to throw our 1st round pick this year into the same mixed bag with them.

    Let's get him to camp.

Mingo was a JAG in college with one arguably decent, not even particularly good, year, and Carolina spent a 3rd on him. It's an entirely different scenario than Bryce.

TMJ balled out in college and we see what's become of him. Production or lack of production doesn't guarantee anything the right situation also makes a big impact for receivers. They can't throw to themselves.

Also some of this is due to Bryce himself and I have no doubt as the season went on receivers got fed up with it. Would you keep trying to go full bore if your #1 pick couldn't hit you deep with the whole defense behind you?

Hopefully Canales can fix some of these issues and at least get us back in the end zone more often. But we are still at the mercy of Bryce Young's physical traits. We'll see what happens.

Drake Mayes game getting picked apart but not Bryce is crazy stuff.

Sports media does this every year they play favorites no different than fans. Most of it is just outside noise that will go away as long as he shows he is committed to football.

As for the difference to Bryce Young honestly you can chalk up most if not all of that to Alabama and Saban.

Make no mistake though teams are keeping tabs on Bryce Young's progress and that will have an effect on the likelihood of any QB's lacking basic physical traits going anywhere near the top 10 again.

BTW has anyone heard or read anything whatsoever about the S2?

  12. I hate to hear that for anyone. As flawed humans it's easy to get stuck in the rat race of adulthood and everyday life and ultimately trivial things we concern ourselves with and forget we're all navigating our own individual circumstances with health issues stress financial burdens etc. I sincerely hope things get better for you and your family and you can get back to doing what you enjoy most.
