  1. We don't need another Cam Newton in terms of generational physicality. We need a guy who has elements of his mentality and approach to the game. Our two best QB's in franchise history both carried themselves a certain way. They were unapologetically vocal and they were confident. They had a personality others gravitated toward. They weren't quiet and meek. That's what we need to be looking for. Along with the basic necessary physical tools. So basically the complete opposite of what we've been currently trying to make work.
  2. Even in the midst of his many very low points and very few brief mid points his passing output has been absurdly low for any QB let alone a first overall pick. Here's a simple comparison. One of these guys is Bryce Young. The other is a UDFA and a career backup currently. 3322 passing yards - 12 starts 3346 passing yards - 21 starts Which one do you think is Bryce?
  3. Making things up isn't nuance. People on this board were spamming that "big time throw" metric that said Bryce Young was a better passer than Josh Allen Lamar Jackson and Joe Burrow for months. Turned out to be a fugazi. Shocking.
  4. The Tepper's are still involved behind the scenes unfortunately. When Fitterer leaves and we're still drafting the same mold of WR's after busts TMJ and Mingo and we're trading up for injured RB's it's more than just Morgan being inept. Dan although a good guy and a Panthers legend is clearly IMO taking much of his cues from ownership. We have cut off our nose to spite our face in order to surround Bryce with as much talent as possible in order to attempt to "fix" him and justify the investment in direct detriment to the rest of the roster. And that points directly to the Tepper's.
  5. Middle sized is pretty generous.
  6. You can't even engage with these people. They are the embodiment of what was that term from a few years ago? Alternative facts? Yeah.
  7. "Just think of Bryce Young as if he is a 7th round pick" "Bryce Young is so good we won't need to invest heavily in WR" You legitimately sound like David Tepper.
  8. I don't think you want conversation unless it aligns with your cheerleading viewpoint. But that's okay. You're welcome to feel that way. And I'm welcome to think you're just an apologist for a terrible front office and ownership.
  9. The problem isn't just that we traded up we traded up gave up a haul and took the physical outlier instead of the best pure passer.
  10. We didn’t even need the first pick. We had plenty of options. Virtually no one here wanted to trade up and they certainly didn't want to give up our best WR to do it. Which was and is comically stupid. We are where we are now because of the Tepper's. Full stop.
  11. It's so bizarre. It is the immediate go to for some people. They act like this is the prime Cam years when people were attacking him despite changing our culture making us relevant across the league and more often than not keeping us competitive. This is not that. This has not been that for a long time. And Bryce Young is at this point in time a downgrade to every QB we have started since Cam. But the fans are the problem!
  12. https://www.espn.com/nfl/game/_/gameId/401547432/panthers-seahawks https://www.espn.com/nfl/game/_/gameId/401671658/panthers-raiders 680 passing yards between two games and one of those was with a head coach many here have called the worst in our history. When washed Andy Dalton is the high point for your passing offense in 2 years with the same players when you have a first overall pick at QB on the roster nothing more really needs to be said.
  13. Inside linebacker is basically non existent. And that goes against everything that has been Carolina Panthers for a couple decades now. And that is just one such area that has suffered as we have paid through the nose to build up our offense around a bad investment.
  14. I am someone who is skeptical at best of Evero at this point in time. And in hindsight he probably should have been replaced. But you cannot simply dismiss that kind of spending gap and then whail about the defense as if that is our identity at this point in time. Yes we used to be a hard nosed defensive team but that hasn't really been the case for some time now. And just to be clear. I was not the first one to mention the starting QB. At this point just be up front and acknowledge you are just a propaganda machine icege.
  15. https://overthecap.com/positional-spending We are 10th in offensive spending and 28th in defensive spending. Much has been said about both sides of the ball in the last several days. Some want to blame the defense. The numbers speak volumes. Discuss.
  16. https://overthecap.com/positional-spending In 2025 the Panthers are 10th in offensive spending and 28th in defensive spending. But yeah let's blame everything on the defense...
  17. 1. There was already a thread here about that hours ago and there are currently two threads on that going in the Tinderbox. 2. Do you really think you were the first one to post about it this late? 3. Get over it and move on.
  18. Average age of their roster is 25.23. Average age of the Panthers roster is 26.32. We are absolutely cheeks at talent evaluation and development.
  19. Looks like a Dan Quinn team to me. With the Falcons his team overachieved two years in a row then back to back 7 win seasons then 0-5 then see ya.
  20. Sam Darnold Baker Mayfield Justin Fields Daniel Jones The grasping at straws namedropping QB's who all have the necessary physical tools to compensate for other areas in an attempt to prop up a QB who does not and has poor processing is getting awkward.
  21. It's wild but there have been people placing most of the blame on Renfrow.
  22. He should be under consideration absolutely. But there's a whole lot of time between now and the draft and there will be QB's who rise and fall.
  23. That's a serious word salad. Anywho. Both Justin Fields and Daniel Jones have always had something Bryce Young does not possess. The necessary physical tools.
  24. How do you reconcile with the fact that the most competent and productive the Panthers passing offense has looked at any point between 2023 and 2025 were both games where Andy Dalton (who is completely washed and terrible) started? 680 passing yards and 5 touchdowns in two games. And one of those games was with Frank Reich as the head coach. This team needs competent QB play.
  25. I agree we don't need a top pick. But at this point wherever we end up in round 1 we're just going to have to throw another dart at it. I concur wholeheartedly about our evaluation. If it were up to me every single draft scout would have already gotten their walking papers. But I think we both know who is actually pulling strings so I guess it probably doesn't matter? But all we have to do is just take a chance on a QB that actually has the physical intangibles necessary as a starting point. It's always going to be a crapshoot but that's the bare minimum we need to be looking at going forward. This trying to break the mold and draft the NFL QB equivalent of Steph Curry foolishness needs to get out of the damn building now and forever.
