Possibly. I think between the ears young is more advanced than darnold. Probably everywhere but arm strength and size. Yes young is possiblity better. That said the hawks won because of that nasty defense. A pro bowler at every level. A top tier number 1 wr who made splash plays and a dependable RB 1 in walker.

Picking Sanders as a outlier is not the overall relative grade that normally happens he's just amazingly popular

There is really nothing you can do about that this year. We resigned him at least the next 2 years. There is only 1 first round QB legit that would take Bryce job. So you have to get better where you can to help Bryce get to where he needs to be. Personally I think he's fine. Not great not bad he's in that darnold territory.

Seeing a lot of people still not able to grasp that the defense is miles ahead of the offense defense you have legitimate studs and horn brown Phillips Lloyd morig safety Mike Jack and to lesser degrees you got other players who were brought in capable Turk is supposed to be capable Bobby Brown supposed to be capable. Outside of our two guards and T-Mac maybe Bryce I don't think there's anybody that is comparable like there's no pro bowlers on offense

Which I would agree with if you didn't add a pro bowl middle linebacker and a potential top 10 pass rusher to mask your biggest weaknesses on an already average side of the field

After talking to a bunch of you it seems the overwhelming majority of y'all would like to see our first round pick use them defense because we have went offense and receiver at that two of the last 3 years. But I posed a simple question what is the reason we lost to the Rams and after free agency and all the money we've been spending which side of the ball do you think is in need of more upgrades? I don't think just because you drafted a specific position repeatedly doesn't mean you shouldn't draft that position again if it's still a weakness I think if you swing it back and you strike out and or miss you have to get up there and take another swing personally I think the offense is much worse off than the defense there's more Star power on defense than offense. Legette was a legitimately amiss and a bus so we have to just watch the thought of him out of the way we are still without a certified number two and arguably Coker could be that but I'd rather he be a number 3 and we lack a field stretching speed option and a legitimate starting tight end we don't really know what we have at RB outside of tuba so I think the offense is bigger? Than the defense which was average last season.

How did you see this and say his athleticism doesn't show up? They literally run bubble screen with him.. a tight.. how rare is that and he pulls away from people making big home run plays. If nothing else you see the speed and that he's a hands catcher. I get his route running isn't where it needs to be yet which is why he is even possibly on the board at 19.

Personally I think he's a nightmare to cover I think linebackers generally aren't fast enough to keep up with him in coverage and cornerbacks don't have the strength to tackle him one-on-one in physically bring them down which would normally lead to a broken tackle or a nasty stiff arm or just bully ball play sure you could find a receiver with comparable speed like Cooper but he's faster than Cooper sure you can find a wide receiver that is the same size but he's probably More powerful than them and a better blocker. The size speed athleticism package that he is in is completely unique it's easier to say I'd rather have just a big blocker because we've never seen this type of profile before I'm a risk taker I think you would be God blessed if this was there at 19 I think if you can get a guy that's a tight end who immediately becomes the fastest guy on your offense and at the same time that third wide receiver that can stretch and burn defenses over the top that's the perfect what the Panthers need type weapon.

I think you're under selling Sadiq. They are two different players in terms of how they win. Loveland is 2 inches taller maybe 5-6 pounds heavier. Comparing his speed to sadiq.. well your comparing a 4.7 guy to a 4.3 guy I'm seeing a guy that can take a bubble screen from the tight end position and turn it into a house call. I'm not saying the guy is a certified home run pick but I don't think there's really a president's for a comparison for this kind of athlete. It's easy to say this doesn't look like Warren or Loveland because we haven't seen guys that fit this profile The closest you might be able to get is Vernon Davis. He's not as sure far as those guys were but at 19 I think almost everybody is going to have some warts and he's a lottery ticket of could be top 10 in the draft player or could fail I am more of a risk taker I think he fits the athletic profile that could be a homerun, like I said he's almost 40 lb bigger than Cooper and like 4-5 in taller than Cooper so and he's faster. So whatever you think Cooper gives you I think he does that and more. If you want to go with one of the office alignment I can understand that as well but for value as a receiving threat I don't think there's a bigger value at number 19.

I can agree that he's not the same traditional tight end as say Warren but he's not that different from Loveland in a guy that plays more like a slot HVAC type row I don't think they're that much there He's probably not as good a route runner but with all that said none of them are the athlete that he is so it's kind of a watch there can I save for a fact that he's going to elite player probably not You're asking for a wide receiver 3 and that's kind of what this would be in a way but accept bigger and just as explosive he's faster than all the guys that you would find at this point in the draft to feel a slot need and he's a red zone weapon with size verticality and such I think he's just a bigger mismatch than those guys you name Yes your banking on potential I think he's a bigger threat to make a play after the catch just based off strength size and just dog. I can't say I know what the Panthers look for in terms of arm length at the tight end position because we haven't drafted an elite first round tight end almost ever but if I'm looking at the way they have made their moves this offseason they drafted to where they don't have to reach it need and they've addressed most of those needs and this is one of the secondary needs that fit the draft range and if available there's a good chance that's a deep will be gone by time we pick I think you're blessed if he does fall to 19

I'm not disagreeing with Bryce not being elite I think he's just middle of the roads kind of guy and maybe that's all he'll ever be but that might be enough to win after what we've seen with Donald I think you have to build around that and add people who can make him look better just like Jackson Smith did with Donald they also had an elite back in the backfield that help and an elite defense. I think McMillan is nice but you don't have anyone that really strikes fear and defenses deep or anything anything to keep defensive honest I understand you feel like they neglected defense in the draft when most of the time after the first pick they stuck to their defensive guns and then you spend your entire offseason market on the defense The defense isn't really the problem The defense was drastically improved in average and you added a pro bowler and another guy who could be a top 10 rusher like how much more do you want to invest in the defense You know what was the problem we couldn't score 21 to 28 points consistently and if you're stuck with Bryce you have to find another way to make that number look better IE playmakers somebody to is a threat to score every game that can open things up That's where you get better at not just making a strength stronger like that's not the reason you lost to the Rams

I have no retort for that. I am not 100% sold on Bryce. By my metric's at the position he doesn't meet my threshold size speed arm. But he's here now and he was a number 1 overall pick. I will bank on his talent vs say ty Simpson?

You already addressed tackle. Walker is 26.. and by most metrics the best tackle available. He's about the same age as ickey. As far as improving the talent at QB you and everyone else would like to do that it just isn't possible this year. There is no challenging Bryce in this year's draft out side Mendoza so that's just not feasible.

I am by no means trying to say he's a world beater. I'm saying it's trending in the right direction. Especially when measured against himself.i think the team feel the same way or else they wouldn't have picked up his option. Plus I think there is a new idea in the NFL about these young QBs. Teams give up to soon. Browns gave up to soon on baker same with the jets on Geno and darnold. Maybe they are who you thought they were in the draft process and they need more time to develop than you originally planned. Either way. I do think he is as capable as darnold is as far as you can win a championship with him. And something he does have that darnold doesn't is he is clutch. If I need one more drive and 2 mins to go I'm betting on Bryce and I am far from a homer, just going off his game winning drives. He has that dog in him on the last drive.

19 isn't high at all really.. Bryce accuracy is actually one of his strong points. I m kinda not understanding your logic at all. By most people's metric Bryce had a good season. He's gonna be the guy this coming season and probably next. Might as well make the most out of it.

Different calibers of talent. Sadiq is 4-5 inches taller and like 45 pounds heavier and faster Still cooper isn't 6'4 240 40 in vertical. Can't block as well as Sadiq and isn't as fast. Like this isn't that hard to see. You wouldn't even have to take your main two weapons off the field in McMillan and Coker, and he would be the fastest player we have on offense... How many guys that big run that fast and play that position? Not only are his numbers elite the tape matches up. These are talents are what push the odds in a teams favor because chances are you have to change your personal to match him.

I doubt the raider thought bowers was pointless, I doubt the colts think Warren is pointless, I doubt the bears think Loveland is pointless. A weapon is a weapon. I could carless about the label you give him. The NFL has moved to a more position less approach. If the guy can play and has unique traits the better. Saying no tight end first round is sort of short sighted.

Sounds like your complaint is more about Bryce than the player. So by your opinion what should we do just suck on offense and hope for more defensive wins? Bryce is fine.. not elite not bad. I think you can win with him if he has enough help around him. Having a 6'4 240 4.38 tight end matched up with linebackers and or corners seems like a valuable chess piece to me. I don't care if he's an H back or whatever. The guy is a football player who displays off the charts athleticism which is exactly what this offense lacks. Him and leggette probably timed close to the same 40 except he's bigger and has a higher vertical and can stretch the field and plays tight end. I honestly don't see what's not to love.

Everything I saw from the tape seems like what the doctor ordered to me. I saw a super hunger willing blocker. A guy who catches with his hands a mover in space. Hard to bring down, I saw a dog.. he reeks of what Morgan describes he looks at in terms of a prospect. Super athletic tommy Trimble? Trimble is more of a blocker... If you had a super athletic tommy Trimble wouldn't that be a good tight end? Not that he was foot speed slow but tremble isn't in this guy's class of athlete. Frankly comparing the fastest tightens prospect ever to Trimble is very insulting.

You just spent your entire cap on defensive upgrades and saying you need a dr or nickel corner yeah that helps this offense that was struggling most of the year
