cam Newton makes his return to Madden football
micnificent28 replied to micnificent28's topic in Carolina Panthers
Not sure myself and I have bought every Madden to come out in the last 20 or so years.. I'm sure he was in the game when he was playing ball most of his career but after that I dunno if it was a licensing issue or what.. he became scarce.. that said the Panthers don't get many legend/ hall of fame QBs if you play mut. I wanna say he's the only one.. you don't get Jake or Collins or whoever. You do get Bryce but they always give him like the weakest arm in the game so he's almost unplayable. Cam on the other hand comes with top end speed at the position.. probably the strongest arm at the time of release, most strength at the position and a rocket arm.. he's a offense changer. -
Little light hearted topic.. For whatever reason Cam Newton doesn't appear in Madden ultimate team every year for whatever reason like most legends. I personally believe it's due to them robbing him of appearing on the cover of the video game series during his peak years winning NFL rookie of the year and the MVP super bowl run. Needless to say I'm a huge Competitive Madden ultimate team player spending hours of days crunching numbers and churning roster management. When this was announced it was a lightening rod in the Madden community. Competitive players know Newton is a game changer.. Your talking fastest quarterback in the game and highest throwing power in the game when he drops. That a long with. Unheard of ability at quarterback like freight train the ability to run over linebacker and corners and I was stoked. I m ashamed to say how much money threw at the game to try to pull newton and failed But it's a big deal seeing as every pro Madden player most certainly has to have him on their roster and the card art is pretty sweet.

You know what's worse about the QB situation?

I mean that's a huge turn off.. but a swift kick in the ass or a vet coaching him up I think is a much easier solution than fixing whatever is going on with Bryce. -

To be fair I don't think the book is closed on Anthony Richardson. I probably would rather have him today than Bryce because of upside. He is still extremely young. Decision making and completion percentage can be improved holding a clipboard. Bryce isn't growing 7 inches getting half a second faster or growing a rocket arm tomorrow. I always say give me the tools you can't teach and let coaching figure out what to do with the rest. Now him stay healthy is a different can of worms.. but I don't think he's unsalvageable. -

I think highly reguarded QBs or prospects in general who fall for character concerns or even maybe injury worrys at a certain point are like value bargain bin sales.. to many examples.. Tunsil and his bong thing.. all pro.. Tavondre sweat the Texas defensive tackle who was a brick wall fell to the second round and his been a stud.. Payton wilson for the love of God we to Wallace over him.. and watching potential top 6 pick will johnson who was projected to us at certain points fall to the second round and we just said ihey rather have nic scorton (made we would have had to give up what a 5 or worse to move up 2-3 spots) is criminal. -

Now this I can argue against.. if we talking backup I think Bryce will have a nice long NFL career... He doesn't make a ton of bad reads.. he is mobile.. I think he can not lose you games if you have the table set for him.. but the ability to make those around him better elevate a bad offense mask bad players like say cam going to the super bowl with Bryon bell and philly brown.. no doesn't have that. -

That is probably true.. but was sanders so weak himself that he wasn't a top 3 round QB? He couldn't be any worse as a prospect as say Desmond ridder or that dude I forget we drafted in the 3rd round and is now playing in the arena league a few years ago. -

Agreed. And at some point Dalton won't be Dalton anymore there isn't anything wrong with drafting a young backup. -
I haven't thrown Bryce away yet.. tho I have lowered my potential outcome for him. I don't think he's ever going to be a top 6 QB.. he can be good enough to drive you to the prom as long as you give him a chaperone.. but really after all the stank that was on Sanders.. Dude fell to what the 5th round.. Cleveland took a QB before him and circled back a round or 2 later before we had the idea to take him as a back up or safety net. I don't think you should ever not scout quarterbacks just off the potential of possibly trading one for higher compensation like the Patriots did with Joe Milton. Just for trade packages and compensation you should always be grooming training or preparing a young late round QB for such situations. I don't understand the thinking of we have Bryce and Dalton we don't even need to think about another quarterback we're like set for generations here we're good..

I was just about to make a whole thread titled I really hate seeing Nick Scott play football but I think you pretty much covered it this 10 times 20 times 30 times whatever need them gone as of yesterday

I have nothing bad at all to say about the T-mac pick.. I think we did the right thing there. But looking at our rivals to night and the significant contributions they are getting from their rookie class.. I'm pissed honestly. And it's not just from high end picks.. the fail-cons went aggressive and took 2 first round pass rushers in a deep pass rushing class it's paying off.. Now I can say it probably wasn't in our ability to take another player in the first round.. but in the second round I don't want to hear we couldn't have gotten a better edge.. book isn't written on nic and I don't think he's bad or anything just hasn't made an impact. Xavier Watts falcons second round sealed the game with an int. These young players are transforming their defense. what really pissed me off was in the 4th round with nic Scott penciled in as our starting free safety we passed on Billy Bowman Jr a ball hawk who feel because of poor run support but had like 12 ints in college for a 3rd string RB Trevor Etienne.. in the 4th Bowman starting for the falcons and had a game changing int and a near second one. Even if you had to have ettiene nobody penciled him in in the 4th. And we knew we needed a safety because 4 picks later.. we grab ta-da... Latham Ransom..

The Franchise guy Panthers 2025 deep dive overview
micnificent28 replied to micnificent28's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'm not sure his idea of us being 28th at the start of the season isn't wrong. It's hard to project who we are based off the fact all the rookies we are depending on to contribute but know nothing about. we don't know what derrick brown looks like week 1.. hunter renfrow t-mac,legette, and our tight ends. we are going to have two new starting safeties no matter what. I think it's hard to know just which way the dial can swing on this roster. -

I think he said 26 or higher is possible if we sign say Alexander or Ramsey and shore up the secondary. -

I don't think you could ask for a more thorough look at each and every aspect of the Panthers. Personally I think it's the most in depth Look at our franchise by any media aspect ever. Really deep look at almost anything you can ask for.. I love this guy. Nothing but pure Panthers glory and knowledge from someone who attended the games and knows ball. I mean the guy goes on for like 2 hours. Kuddos to this man who temporarily lives in Charlotte last year and says the Panthers are his second team and home.- 27 replies

NFL.com's Chad Reuter's 4-round mock draft
micnificent28 replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'm sorry I just don't see the appeal of Walker. I looked at the tape.. I look at the production.. there to much of a gamble on what if. He wasn't a full time rusher or off ball linebacker He's undersized I just couldn't do it. -
If Carter falls past 3 or 4 do you pick up the phone?

If Mason Graham is there he is my pic. I also would love to grab Tyler Warren at that spot with possible consideration from Loveland. -

Walker isn't a sure fire edge.. he's undersized and has only split time between the two positions. He's only put up 5-6 sacks in one season is that worth the 8th pick?
