  1. They both were taking snaps from Tecklenberg except PJ was facing 2s. You'll have to come up with a different excuse. At least you admit Grier is garbage. I'm tired of watching him play. Its painful to watch. PJ isn't great, but he very clearly is far superior to Grier. Frankly, my dear, Grier-family-member, I don't give a damn what we've invested him. We need to cut our losses. Obviously. If he shows next week, I hope we still cut him, because he's never looked good. But I'm not worried. Grier has been pretty consistently terrible.
  2. Are you someone from the Grier family? You're cherry picking stats. Why not mention Grier's 33 TOTAL yards? Because they suck. They make checkdown Teddy look like a deep bomb threat. 3.3 yards per attempt is ass. Grier would have had more attempts if he would connect on 3rd down. PJ's pr of 89.6 was much better than Grier's 65.0. PJ had 161 yards. Grier had 33. We don't hate Grier, we hate his play, in particular his inaccurate 3rd down throws where receivers are leaping 4ft in the air just to get a finger tip on it or diving into the dirt to try to get a hand on it. Grier is really good with trash cans. I'll give you that. But he has yet to show anything in a preseason or regular season game.
  3. Ok you're cherry picking. PJ 10/21 161 yards 89.6 Rating on both TV and Panthers.com Grier 6/10 31 yards 65.0 Rating at Panthers.com Grier 5/9 33 yards on the tv. Not sure why Panthers.com had 1 more pass and 2 less yards. a0e7jjsuotyozwx4o33n.pdf (nfl.com) Last I checked, a pr of 89.6>65.0. Pj was much better. As for blaming the oline, PJ and Grier had the same center, except Tecklenburg was going up 2s for PJ and 3s, 4s for Greir. Where are you getting your drop numbers from? From what I saw, there were multiple inaccurate throws that recivers dove and leaped into the other just to try to touch.
  4. Chiefs claimed Butker when we put him on the PS. We just need to keep our eyes open. I'm not saying dump him, but today's performance is concerning. One of Slyes FG's looked like a gift from the refs. None were dead center and I was clinging to my seat as they sailed right at the uprights. Slye did not look good today. The psychology stuff isn't working.
  5. And when he did, it didn't go very well. That Bears game.
  6. He's not a loud qb so they couldn't hear him, and he could have shortened the count after the first false start. Snap on first sound, start motion while silent.
  7. A couple 3rd and longs were uncatchable. You have to make those throws.
  8. Do what the colts did and shorten the cadence to first sound. I think that is another problem with Grier, is he is not a loud quarterback. I think they had trouble hearing him.
  9. Our run blocking looked bad. We were bad at it last year. We ran more with Will. Partially because we need to figure out our run game, and partially because we don't trust Greir. When he got his shot on 2nd and 3rd downs, many times the ball was uncatchable. Those passes have to be spot on, even with some pressure.
  10. Then he should sit the bench in the preseason and give the reps to PJ. He's not good, hasn't been and we really need to part ways.
  11. I think what Smitty thinks is catchable might not be the same for mere mortals.
  12. I think they're doing that because they don't trust him. He has never looked good any time I have seen him in a game. Today was his best I've seen and the offense came to halt. We scored 3 points in the 2nd half. On 3rd down, the pass has to spot on, and multiple times it was uncatchable....ending the drive. The guy is not good....we need to part ways.
  13. I hope not. He has never shown in game. Give PJ the reps and move on.
  14. Yes. 162 yds in a half is 320 in a game. PJ looked good. Grier has never looked good, I don't know why we keep him around. I'm really tired of watching him.
  15. Marshal, Tremble, Shi, Chubba looked good. PJ>>>Grier. D line looked good both 2nd and 3rd string. Secondary: 2s looked ok, 3's not so much I didn't notice Christensen, have to watch the recording, but when you don't notice a oline that's good. Thats the worst I've ever seen Slye. I think they gifted us one of his FGs. Once again, no holes for running. Pass pro looked ok. ABC WSOC was horrible. They should not be allowed to broadcast nfl games. At one point they were airing soccer. For periods there was a technical difficulties screen during the game.
  16. LB Nate Hall will also not play today because of injury. List of available LBs is small. Quote Tweet Alaina Getzenberg @agetzenberg
  17. I really want to see those two in action. Especially Chubba, since he won't see the field much during the season.
