Complete disclosure time. I don't think Corral will be a franchise QB in the NFL and have high doubts he'll ever start a game other than as a backup if the starter goes down.
Based on what? His lack of reps under Rhule? His injury by our swiss cheese piece of crap oline? Did you see the play where he got hurt? Absolutely no pass blocking. The guy managed to get through two years of SEC play as a running qb. No one knows if he can succeed at this point.

Tepper wanted Fields.
Is Fields really the answer in Chicago? He is not a very good passer and has to run a lot to be productive. We are now seeing the toll running qb's like Fields and Lamar Jackson are taking. No way the Ravens give Lamar a fully guaranteed contract he is demanding. That situation could get interesting.

Should definitely be out next head coach. I don't want to gamble again on an unknown.
He would be a typical hire in line with Matt Rhule, Sam Darnold, and Baker Mayfield. Shopping in thrift store for things others no longer want.

lets nfl hired people do their job.
You mean like the college co-offensive coordinator he hired from LSU? Let that guy run the show? The guy who was even less qualified than Rhule?

The more I dive into him, the more I like him.
Perfect scenario where we draft him includes hiring Shane Steichen and signing Minshew as a bridge QB. Gives him time to learn the offense and still allows us to compete with the rest of the roster in place.
I am really starting to hate this team. Give up draft capital for Sam Darnold; give up draft capital for Matt Corral; give up draft capital for Baker Mayfield. Now we want to add another project qb? Stop the madness. At least Matt Corral was a stud SEC qb. This guy is nothing but a loser. And don't tell me Florida had no talent. You think they had less talent than Ole Miss?

Good for them. Hope the county and contractors stick it to him.

Is Fields a fantasy qb or an nfl qb or both? His completion % is 58.9 and his qb rating has him as the 23rd qb.

Always nice to know that some owners value making money over player safety.
(unfortunately ours is one of them)
Yet another reason that Tepper is a bottom five owner. If I were a free agent, i would much prefer grass.

They do some back yard run around and wait BS that would not work in the NFL is what I'm getting at.
I would agree with that. His best work seems to be when he scrambles around for a long time and drops one deep.

he takes huge hits all the time and just keeps going. My only knock on him is that he obviously has great weapons, but his line is even better
Umm no. What you said is actually contradictory. The first part is right though as Bama allows a lot of sacks (Bama Oline not good).

We've had too many high draft picks to tank properly even after unloading CMC.
Browns and Jets had years and years of high draft picks but still managed a remarkably long period of suckitude.

Looks like rams offered a similar packege as 9ers but instead of this years 4th they offer 4th next plus Cam Akers …
Should have we took rams offer ?
Hell no. A washed up locker room problem? Take an rb in one of the later rounds.

Every pass in a highlight reel looks good?
Exactly. Justin Fields dropped some dimes in the championship game before becoming a bust in Chicago. Right now I am thinking Kenny Pickett might be the best qb prospect of the last two drafts. It sure isn't Lance, Fields, Wilson, or Jones.

I think this year's qb class is overrated. Stroud = Justin Fields; Bryce Young = Kyler Murray; Will Levis = Sam Darnold. We will certainly pick one of those three. Hope we give Corral a fair chance to beat them out.

I was in the don't trade CMC for anything less than first round picks camp yesterday but everything i've read says we got the best end of this deal. The most important characteristic of a football player is availability and CMC don't have that. We have been trading away draft picks like we are almost there. I guess that was the grift that Rhule was playing over Tepper. We are not almost there. We need those draft picks. Round 1 qb, round 2 wr, dline, round 3 rb...

It’s clear all parties want a trade to happen. It all depends on if someone offers fair compensation.
This one is going to make the the Deandre Hopkins trade by Houston look good. A second and a fourth rounder or something that ridiculous.

Who do we see as being the next to punch their ticket out of this lovely completely not-awful situation?
Options:
- No one, this was an obvious move, but should probably hold on to the big names/core talent
- CMC (I'm sure him and Olivia would love LA or Miami)
- Shaq Thompson
- Brian Burns (Contract year, no new deal yet--core piece?)
- Ben McAdoo via firing or he just decides to stay home and doesn't come back
- DJ Moore
- Other, explain
Please don't trade CMC for peanuts. We already have a reputation as being marks for getting conned into taking terrible deals. Now that Rhule is gone, please don't underscore that belief. I don't mind dropping Robbie for nothing because he was a distraction but let's stop it there. You want our guys, bring some real draft capital to the table.

Corral sucks. Bottom line.
Based on what exactly? His highly regarded college career? His late duty with the Panther dregs in two preseason games?

Is he Wentz before or after the injuries? It's easy to forget that Wentz was a legit MVP candidate at his best.
Wentz was on a great Eagles team that propelled Nick Foles to a superbowl mvp so take your pick. Wentz was always Wentz. Put him on a mediocre to bad team and he really looks bad.

I have to admit, I was told this QB class was amazing, but truth be told I don’t see a clear Andrew Luck or Cam Newton. Bryce Young, smaller than Baker, pass. Will Levis, high upside but very questionable in clutch or high pressure moments.
CJ Stroud, his numbers look great but so did Justin Fields and Fields has looked awful. I have to be honest, I look at Corral and I look at this QB class, and the more I look the more I say we just roll with Corral next season and just draft BPA.
Unless we have a shot at Stroud, I agree. Bryce Young = Kyler Murray and he will have the same problems. Will Levis has that desired height (6'3") but he is a Penn State reject and Kentucky fans are sick of his constant mistakes (he cost them the Ole Miss game w/ poor decisions in the fourth quarter); he looks like a Carson Wentz type. CJ Stroud looks like the real deal, but we know that is never guaranteed and OSU offense schemes leaves wr's running wide open and there will be a big difference in the nfl w/ very small windows. That's why Chicago was sucked into drafting Fields. I would still take Stroud if i could though. I see him as a Trevor Lawrence type. Overhyped as a generational qb that will, nonetheless, end up being a solid starter (which i would kill for now).

I guess stranger things have happened.Hope you're right.
The Rams suck. Beating them won't prove much. They are as much of a mess as we are.

Fair enough but he had a 33.8 qbr the week before that and his td/int ratio is 13/10. Not that great.
