  1. The early rumors were T-Mac to us, but the staff did a great job subtlely playing that down so then the speculation turned to Jalon Walker. Carolina needs an edge and why not an edge/ilb? My guess is we were haggling w/ the Rams and 49'ers when the Jets took Membou.
  2. Unless you are in the SEC. Will Campbell got to play against Kyle Kennard (USC), Princely Umanmielen (Ole Miss), Landon Jackson (Ark), Shemar Stewart and Nick Scourton (A&M), Jalon Walker and Mykel Williams (UGA). And those are just the edge rushers not the DT's. The SEC had 79 picks vs. Big 12 31.
  3. I was a fan of Jalon Walker until I started to think about how to use him. SI I would be worried about how he is going to defend run plays and bigger more athletic linemen in the NFL as an Edge. Pearce is intriguing. Needs to add some weight but the guy is extremely athletic with a high ceiling. Trading away your first rounder for a guy with character concerns is risky, but I guess they did their homework.
  4. Last year's draft sucked. I get it has just been a year but trading up after six wr's were already taken was stupid as was trading up to take an injured rb.
  5. Sophomore to senior in one year? What happened to being a junior? I think a 20 year old three year starter with limited injury history and a great year at Purdue is likely to succeed.
  6. We keep having to utilize high draft picks to make up for mistakes. WR #8 McMillian to cover mistakes Mingo and XL; RB #111 Trevor Etienne to make up for mistake Jonathan Brooks.
  7. Don't forget we spent a lot of draft capital in taking Mingo, Legette, and McMillian to give him wr weapons after we spent a fortune to make him the #1. I don't think he will ever live up to being a no. 1 pick but could turn into a serviceable starter.
  8. I wonder what the trade back offers were? It would be interesting to put together a draft using those picks. I did not think we would ever get a chance at Mike Green in the second or that we would pass him up for Scourton. Princely in the third was great value but was it wise to take two edges at that point (probably, he is a really great value there)? I still see Tet as another big body that can't get separation, but i was encouraged by the fact that Bryce and him worked out together in California and have a rapport. If the 49ers and Rams really wanted him too, i am probably wrong on his potential. I was really expecting another turd class like last year and this one is much, much better at first blush. It could be a great draft class...only time will tell at this point.
  9. LOL. Two first round wr picks in a row. Tepper is really trying to convince the world he was right with the Bryce Young pick.
  10. We spent more for Tershawn Wharton (54M over 3 yrs) than any other free agent and he will line up opposite Brown as a DE in a 3-4. He is known more for his pass rush than run stopping. We signed NT Bobby Brown as a run stopper (21M over 3 yrs) and have Shy Tuttle behind him). We signed Pat Jones as an Edge for 20M for 2 yrs (7 sacks with only one start in '24). We are really thin at safety but that is generally not a value position. So who knows how the staff prioritize the D.
  11. If the Jags don't want Jeanty, Dallas needs to trade with us for cheaper and still get him. I think the Raiders have too many holes to take a RB that early.
  12. Mykel's pro-day has me wanting Mike Green ahead of him. Taking an injured player in the first round is risky.
  13. A tweener or a guy who just said his pro-day was bad because of an ankle injury he suffered in the first game of the season. Athlon If you are desperate for an edge, take a real one in Mike Green.
  14. Absolutely the worst case scenario for the Panthers.
  15. We drafted a qb a year before a bumper qb class so i would not be surprised to see us draft a wr (tet) a year after a bumper wr class (Harrison jr., Nabers, Odunze, Brian Thomas jr., xavier worthy, ricky pearsall, and XL (all first rounders). Just keep using those first round picks and we may get one in a year or two.
  16. Wow. Doesn't even tell the whole story since we are still paying for the '23 class this year.
  17. We are not getting normal value in a draft that is this poor at the top but at the same time deep. Go with BPA, which is probably going to be Will Campbell. You don't want to trade with us, we are going to take your player.
  18. Six gives us a pretty strong shot at Graham, which would be the easy choice.
  19. We are about to take Walker as the second Edge off the board in a draft deep w/ Edge rushers. That is scary.
  20. This year feels like the '23 draft for qb's. Slim pickin's this year but a potential haul for '26 in Manning, Lamaleava, Alar, Nussmeir, and Klubnik. One of those guys will poop the bed in '26 but some unknown will take his place. I would build my line and wr corp and worry about the qb in '26.
  21. History says there will be multiple first round trades but this class is somewhat unique in its lack of talent once you get past the first 3-5 guys. I am really hoping for a trade back because i have been convincing myself the character issue guys (Mike Green, Pearce, and Burden) can be rehabilitated here and would represent a huge bargain late in the first or even early in the second for Burden.
  22. Especially the qb's. The best qb from that class ended up being Brock Purdy Mr. Irrelevant.
  23. Etienne was injured a lot last year and is only one year removed from a 1,000 yd season and they also have Tank Bigsby looking pretty good. I feel pretty confident they take Mason Graham. I also like Carrol and the Raiders to take Jeanty. Trading away our second round pick is going to sting because there is a huge difference between 39 and 57 where the former could land you one of the stud edges who fall (Green, Pearce, Ezeiruaku) and the latter would land you good not great prospects like (Landon Jackson, Tuimalao, or Princely). I am ok with drafting bpa with the first pick rather than reach for Williams though.
