Why did the cowgirls switch RBs with us?

Miles and Jevonte, lol. My gut tells me Jerry was influential. -
Reading the Tea Leaves: What Did Morgan Just Tell Us?
rebelrouser replied to MHS831's topic in Carolina Panthers
Meh, planning for long term tackle would disappoint a lot of fans but this team is not on the verge of contending for anything significant in '25. Sounds like Golden really is ascending. I think he will be the first wr taken and that Tet could be the third. -

So a starting LT for Bryce from the 2nd or 3rd round? That sounds risky or do you mean we take one this year expecting him to start in '26? -
Reading the Tea Leaves: What Did Morgan Just Tell Us?

Nobody is saying that. Warren and TMac would require us to use the no. 8. Golden would not. -
XL should improve some this year, but that was such a horrible pick. I think that means we don't take Tet at 8. The resume of XL and Tet being back to back first pick wr failures would be quite the black mark on the resume.

Reading the Tea Leaves: What Did Morgan Just Tell Us?

I love reading that Golden has great hands, great route runner, and creates separation. Also, he would be available late in R. 1. Here are some draft projections from March 2: Jordan Reid, ESPN: No. 3 WR Matt Miller, ESPN: No. 4 WR Field Yates, ESPN: No. 4 WR Vinnie Iyer, Sporting News: No. 25 overall, No. 4 WR Daniel Jeremiah, NFL Network: No. 22 prospect overall, No. 3 WR Dane Brugler, The Athletic: No 27 overall, No. 4 WR PFF: No. 25 prospect overall, No. 4 WR CBS: No. 34 prospect overall, No. 4 WR Article is little old. Tyler Warren is TJ Hockenson 2.0. The BPA is more likely going to be Jeanty. -
After Day three.... New draft strategy?

Thanks Dan. Why did we bail on Mingo if this is true? -
Panthers agree to 1-year deal with RB Rico Dowdle

After two acl tears, i have doubts about Brooks ever contributing to an NFL team. -
So what is your draft strategy after today?
rebelrouser replied to Panthero's topic in Carolina Panthers
'24 five teams traded up in the first round. '23 six teams traded up in the first round. A trade back option will emerge for us. Now that we landed a rb free agent too i'm liking this strategy even more. -

Carter and Hunter will be gone but really good chance at least one of the others drops to us. Hunter is trending down due to technique questions on D. -
So what is your draft strategy after today?

Wharton DT: ranked in lower half of league in run d; 6.5 sacks last year. Jackson CB: good pairing w/ JC Horn. Moehrin S: second on team w/ 104 tackles. Jones LB: 7 sacks last year with only one start so he can get to the qb. Brown DT: will fit the D nicely as a nose that can eat up blocks and stop the run. Tremble: hoping he continues to improve as a pass catcher. Corbett: bring back the oline that helped Bryce. Man we opened up our options in this draft. Obviously still need a lot of help but it doesn't feel quite as desperate. I might have to change my opinion on Tet. Still wouldn't mind a trade back scenario. -
Daniel Jeremiah: watch what the Panthers do tomorrow
rebelrouser replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Double rolls of tp is a nice touch. Sure there are backups under the sink, but the reach for a replacement is a pain. -
I would grade that as an A+ especially when you factor in the '26 2d. Trade back will be so much better than BPA unless someone really falls.

2021 (59) 2d round Terrace Marshall 2023 (39) 2d round Jonathan Mingo 2024 (32) 1st round Xavier Legette Please tell this team to stop fishing for a WR 1 with early picks. They go for big straight line speed guys who have trouble finding separation. Find a high production quality route runner in the later rounds. Give X a chance to improve and pair him w/ a later round starter.

No way you take him at 8. How many edge rushers will be available at that point and later? And he is a 4-3 end too.

Walter Football mock. Feb 25. 4 rds
rebelrouser replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah i like the UGA LB better too but Mykel Williams was injured most of '24 so his production wasn't what it coud have been. I really hope we can trade back. Carter, Walker, Pearce, Williams, Green and Nolen mean someone will be available from 10-15 for us. -
Is running back on the table for the panthers this draft?
rebelrouser replied to micnificent28's topic in Carolina Panthers
cam skattaboo in the fourth would be acceptable. -
He looked like the quickest and most nimble dline in the four bag drill too. He looks like the second best edge right now. I wouldn't mind taking him or the lb from uga at 8. Landon Jackson from Arkansas and Shemar Stewart looked like really good prosptects too. We could probably trade back and get either of them.
-
They superimposed S. Barkley, James Pearche, AJ Brown, and J. Hurts running the forty and James is right behind Barkley, right in front of Brown and way in front of Hurts. Not the best indicator for success on the dline but that is impressive. I can't find a dlineman that had a better time at the combine. 40 yd dash

And the desperate moves of using the 39th and 32nd picks on wr's the last two years. Our wr room is not has bad as our D and we need to see what X and Coker do year two as you suggested. We can get a wr later. This is really a trade back if you can draft and take a lot of defensive players.

Who Has to Be Off the Board to Trade Back?
rebelrouser replied to 45catfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Carter, Graham, or Walker and I might roll the dice hoping Walker is around later. If Hunter is there at 8, we are about to get a really nice haul for trading back. -
Matt Miller says there are 12 players with a true RD 1 Grade
rebelrouser replied to Captain Morgan's topic in 2023 NFL Draft
So Will Campbell wouldn't normally be drafted in the first round? And no quarterbacks in the first round? '24 had 6 '23 had 3 '22 had 1 '21 had 5 and '20 had 4. I think teams will be more comfortable taking a d line later since the position is stacked this year and the lt, wr, rb will all go in the first round and lt and wr going top ten. -
I could see a team wanting the OT, TE, RB, or WR and those are secondary needs for us right now. Even more so if a QB falls or enters the picture after the combine.
