There were a lot of people on here calling for us to take a TE with our second pick. Also, we didn't pay Hurst 27M because we felt good about Tremble breaking out. I'm sure he has a lot of room for improvement but it is time to show it.

There's the player's side and the coach's side, woth the reality typically somewhere in the middle, but I can definitely believe that Rhule and many of his staff were poor teachers of what they did teach. Those guys were outclassed weekly by real NFL minds and even just moving to Wilks brought immediate and noticeable improvements.
I agree. Pretty obvious Rhule and company sucked but so did Tremble. Time to put up or force us to use a high pick on TE because this part is totaly b.s.:
QuoteWhile the squad signed veteran tight end Hayden Hurst to upgrade and lead the group, the team chose not to address the position in the draft.
“I think it shows that Frank trusts us,” Tremble said about the limited the roster movement at tight end.

For quite awhile it looked like the Chargers won that Eli trade with the Giants.
LOL. No. Even the Chargers wanted Eli. As for DJ, he was less than middle of the pack when you have Darnold throwing him the ball. It would have been nice to see him get to catch passes from Bryce but that was an impossible Catch 22 situation.

The Bears are going to wish they kept that pick and traded Justin Fields. Oh well, they have their own 1st rounder so they could be in the #1 spot again.

We are quite a long way off of determining who is going to fail. Again, very weird to see so many take joy in someone else's misery. Schadenfreude the Germans call it. I think whoever said this was a one quarterback draft may end up being right though.

People on here are obsessed with having a traditional #1 WR, but our group's value lies in depth and not a star at the top. Plus Bryce's best asset is his ability to go through reads and spread the ball around. Carolina is not a place to find a good fantasy WR. Even if TMJ takes the next step, he will be sharing catches with several others limiting his fantasy numbers.

Mayfield and Kyle Trask sharing first team snaps. Man they are going to suck.

another four inches isn't keeping that pass from being knocked down. Like the second video where he looks off the dback.

Great point about these teams continuing to go all in when it is clearly rebuilding time.

Bucs signed him so they can tank for Caleb Williams while also using his name to keep the team sort of interesting.
Agree. Him and Darnold are simply not the future for anyone.

Honestly, Baker might bounce back. Darnold might bounce back.
I put ZERO stock in what I saw from players the last few years under Rhule. He was that bad.
Each of these quarterbacks also failed at Cleveland and New York respectively. Third time's the charm though right?

Unrelated: Does anyone know where I could buy some "highlights"?
This. They show us just enough "highlights" for us to think, damn he really is short, but not enough to remind us that, damn he really is good. I've gone back to old Bama vids.

Young is the #1 QB my man.
Why are you so focused on Matt Corral development. That indeed is strange...
I'm not. I'm pointing out how stupid the Corral haters are. There was never a good reason to cut him, but I bet you wanted that.

OTAs have gotten going on Monday with No. 1 pick Bryce Young taking the majority of first-team snaps at the Panthers’ first spring practice.
Head coach Frank Reich was complimentary of all three quarterbacks on the roster in his post-practice press conference, saying Young, Andy Dalton, and Matt Corral displayed strong decision-making and ball placement.
But this board says Corral can't be developed and will just take snaps away from Young. Strange.

Who knows how good he could have been since he was obviously held up by bad qbs, but it makes sense to go get a good wr in the draft on a rookie deal. I think having a lot of different options at wr might be better for Bryce than having a true #1 since he is so good reading the field and finding open guys. You have a true #1 wr and then a drop off and the other team has a true #1 cb to neutralize him.
-
Saying that anyone who wants Corral to do well is a "groupie" is dumb. He's a member of the team and could turn out to be be a quality backup or trade material. He does have a 185 lbs qb and a 35 year old qb in front of him. Maybe he ends up being needed.

Also...isn't this proposed rule change up for consideration at the league meetings next week?
Third-quarterback rule: Teams would be allowed to carry 47 active players on game day, but the extra player would have to be a quarterback. Currently, teams are allowed to dress 46 players. The NFL used to allow teams to carry an emergency third quarterback on game day, but the league scrapped that rule in 2011. The rule came up again after the 49ers ran out of quarterbacks in their NFC title game loss to the Eagles.
Don't know why they ever changed that in the 1st place.
And if the rule isn't changed and Corral is cut, someone really has some explaining to do on why we drafted him in the first place. People like to blame Rhule for everything now but there is no reason he would have wanted to trade down to obtain a developmental qb when his ass was on the hot seat. And don't tell me Rhule thought a late third round qb pick was going to buy him more time (already heard that from someone on here).

I watched a few SF games and it was obvious they were better with him.
But we were worse without him when he left? Not really.

What else is he supposed to say?
That said I hope the Niners are poo. I'll be thrilled if they do well for a bit only to lose in similar fashion in the biggest game of their season again. Those bandwagon fans deserve the worst.
Their run has to be nearing it's end. That Trey Lance deal was terrible.

Yeah i think it's just the camera angle and the fact that Corral is in the foreground. One thing to remember about all these pics is that the camera angle and position of players can make them seem taller or shorter than they really are. People making fun of Young because he looks small in one picture behind our line are idiots.
