12 and 14 are a bit out to lunch if you ask me. Taking a rookie that high??? Yowzer. Risky.
Especially Egbuka with Evans and maybe Godwin in front of him. A rookie who won't even be the no. 1 on his team at 14????? Terrible.

Dart looked pretty good.

I kinda think Scourtin will end up being the steal and the more complete end.
He was a second rounder though, so not so much of a steal. I feel pretty confident about at least one and very possibly two edge picks hitting. Crazy that Scourton was the seventh edge taken in the draft. So glad we didn't reach for Mykel Williams, Jalon Walker, or Shemar Stewart. James Pearce looked excellent to me but he came with attitude baggage.

Still, you have to think Umanmielen — with his length, bend and explosive first step — is going to make an impact as a rookie.
Yeah, baby. Steal of the draft.

Icky is overrated and about to be overpaid. Not sure what we could do about that. Missing Penei Sewell and settling for Jaycee Horn left us in a no win situation. I guess we could have picked Evan Neal instead. That would have even worse.

Is Icky in the discussion as being a top-tier LT? I know he had rough rookie year, but improved last season. Unless he grows into a top-tier LT, why would we pay him as such?
No. PFF grades. He needs to improve pass blocking and limit the penalties.

Let him go back to A&M with his buddy. We should not allow the stupidity of Houston and Cleveland dictate our actions. Whoever started the thread about the stupidity of Houston when it first occurred was spot on. My favorite part about all of this:

In reality, everyone’s probably waiting for Tyler Shough. The 25-year-old quarterback, whom the Saints drafted at No. 40, is reportedly insisting on a fully guaranteed contract.
LOL. The old duded who plays a position of the highest bust rate wants guaranteed money????????

One of the bright spots from the Rhule era. Didn't he say his wife made the pick? The RB room looks pretty good w/ Chuba, Rico, and Etienne.

Vegas only has 5 teams with a lower over/under than the Panthers in 2025.
Browns, Saints, Jets, Titans and Giants. Then us.
Pick number six baby!

even national media is talking like this team is about to do something.
The majority of everything i have seen in the form of 2026 draft picks to season predictions has us losing even more games this year.

The few 2026 mock drafts that i have seen have us picking sixth.

They sort of drafted him in case they couldn't reach a deal with Trey Hendrickson. Maybe they are close with Hendrickson. I think the A&M defensive scheme may have hurt Scourton and Stewart's sack numbers but at least Nic had four; Stewart had 1.5. If we hadn't drafted two edge rushers, i would be in favor of exploring a trade for the guy.

How many new starters will we have on defense? That could be a good thing given how bad the D was last year, but it could also take some time for them to gel.

I guess it is him. Can't wait for the video.

I feel like Jalen Milroe is this year's Anthony Richardson, but he was drafted in the third round with no plans for him to start his first year. He has a much better chance to make it. They thought AR was going to learn to pass in the NFL by being a staring running qb who cannot keep a defense honest. It should not be a surprise that he is struggling and picking up injuries.

I get the XL pick, and I get the Brooks pick in round 2
I hope our first two picks do better in year one than those two. I was surprised we prioritized a rb over s considering the Brooks pick and the rico fa agency pick up. I'm glad they were true to their board and got their guys. Could be a great draft.

The Rams gave us that opportunity.
The Rams didn't have a second round pick and would have to give us something in '26 so i don't blame the coaches who need to win sooner rather than later.

Ask yourself this: In the Panther system, is it possible that Scourton would be a better edge than Walker? I think he is a better fit. Princely? Better fit.
Walker and the other edge rushers would have been a bad pick at 8. The real question is whether we should have traded back.

Ramsey feels a little like Clowney. A vet who was not at his peak but still added a lot of value and a little bit of baggage. That just isn't in our short terms plans.

The NCAA blew it. I wouldn't be surprised if the SEC and Big Ten drop the NCAA and form a super league:
QuoteIn an unreported and little-known fact, SEC presidents in March quietly authorized their commissioner, Sankey, to split from the NCAA if he deems that the right move.
That would at least allow the ACC and others to get back to being universities first.
-
Where is the Panther interest coming from? I am seeing Cowboys, Rams, Ravens, Eagles. I doubt the Dolphins would take a 5th, and I think Ramsey would prefer those other teams.

Risk: locker room cancer. Reward: past his prime cb helps a little bit on D. Not worth trading away our 3rd round pick for that.

Panthers possibly trading Thielen?

Bryce Young needs: Jonathan Mingo (pick 39 in '23), XL (pick 32 in '24), Tet McMillan (pick 8 in '25)....enough already. We made a mistake selling the farm for a short qb with crap wrs and oline, but have gone out of our way since then to help him. Time to produce.
