  1. Wouldn't surprise me to see the team march out in 01 personnel and have Shenault motion into/from the backfield.
  2. From what (little) I understand, there are a few factors: Hotel accommodations Transportation Fan support I'd imagine a local government with experience in hosting large scale events is also desirable. I could even see Mint St hosting a lot of the activities Would be nice. Who knows. The draft is a bucket list item for me and being in Charlotte would make the trip a whole lot cheaper!
  3. If you don't understand how losing now to gamble later is not as beneficial to a team (or a business) as winning now and later then that's a you problem that you'll have to figure out.
  4. I wonder if this is linked to the Panthers' interest in hosting the NFL Draft in 2026. Could feed into future plans (if any) to host a Super Bowl in Charlotte.
  5. I'm very interested to hear how some of the pro-tank crowd will convince players to sacrifice one year of their career for an organization that they won't be back with the following season. I imagine that that's going to be a difficult task. Especially so when considering that the average NFL career lasts just over three seasons. But yea, go ahead and tell those guys to have a seat so that the team can get one or two spots ahead in line at the counter for lotto tickets that are going to be used to replace them. The same folks suggesting tanking will be the same ones complaining that the team can't attract free agents and claim that it's because "nobody wants to play for a loser." -_-
  6. I think Baker fits what Arians' offense does rather well. Get the ball out quick and take shots downfield while the playcalls scheme receivers open. Happy for him that he's getting another opportunity to start. As bad as the Panthers' QB room was last season, I don't think anybody would have been successful under Rhule/McAdoo. Considering where the Bucs were picking, I agree with Arians that Baker was the best option. Young or Stroud would have been perfect fits but there was no way they'd be able to move up to #1 overall like the Panthers were able.
  7. If Jim Caldwell, Frank Reich, Thomas Brown, and Josh McCown all think Dalton should start over Young then I will support their decision rather than supporting somebody on the Internet having a meltdown. ~\_(ツ)_/~
  8. I recall last year during the offseason seeing something about the Panthers talking to Dohnovan West at the ASU pro day (I was high on CB Chase Lucas coming out of there). Can't recall if it was a tweet, but I think Fitterer was talking to him?
  9. Happy for Sam. He's back home on the west coast, he's with CMC who he's gotten to know from their time together in Carolina, and he's playing for a coach that has a run-heavy system that just needs their QB to get the ball to the guy in space that they schemed open. It couldn't be a better situation for him after everything he's already been through in the league.
  10. I don't believe there's any good faith conversation to be had about tanking in the NFL. A lot of folks are going to make demands based off what they think might have happened rather than looking at what happened and the real reasons why. You're not going to get a guy coaching for his future tell a bunch of guys playing for their future to chill so that the organization they might not be with in the future has a draft spot or two higher. It just doesn't happen and it's silly, dare I say stupid, for anybody to get their underoos in a bunch over it.
  11. This is what I'm thinking as well. It's also a good way to settle sore feelings (Corral) or see if they need to play it safe going into the season (Young). Unless Frank pulls a Rhule and decides that Dalton has to compete with another FA he randomly wants.
  12. Looks like he was on the Colts' PS in 2021 or at least with them going into the preseason, so Reich has some familiarity with him.
  13. Dude is a very good player and should be paid like a top 10 DT
  14. Idk if telling ourselves that everything sucks is a win for our mental state but people will process how they process
  15. How many times have we seen this followed by the same person claiming that they're, "just being realistic?" -_-
  16. While we might not have a clear WR1, this is probably the deepest WR group that the team has had in a long, long while. Adam Thielen is a proven commodity and also the NFL record holder for most consecutive 100yd games (8) DJ Chark (2018), Laviska Shenault (2020), Terrace Marshall Jr (2021), and Jonathan Mingo (2023) are all big-body WRs that were all selected in the 2nd round of the NFL draft Damiere Byrd and Shi Smith are both speedsters and former Gamecocks that are likely competing for the same roster spot Even the practice squad guys have potential: CJ Saunders and Derek Wright are both practice squad guys from last season that showed promise during the preseason. Preston Williams is 6'5" 215lbs. There's a whole lot of him.
  17. Can't wait to check this out. Been only following the BattleHawks and beer snakes this season
  18. Watching Moose develop in my early teens was a big influence on me being as patient as I currently am with rookies and first-year players. It's why I've held out for YGM despite not having much faith in him (his lack of explosiveness off the line is just too much for me to ignore). If DJ Johnson has the same issue with not having an explosive get-off, then maybe Yetur can find a way to function in Evero's defense. Big year for YGM + CJ Henderson in regards to getting positive tape out there for other teams to look at if the Panthers opt to go in other directions.
  19. Team has already announced that YGM will play OLB. I don't think that will work at all, but we'll see.
  20. I got the impression that he's going to compete for LG with Brady likely to move over to RT until Austin's fully healed. Can't help but wonder if they're priming Brady to eventually take over for Moton or if they're looking at him as the primary swing guy.
  21. I mean... who else do we need? They're going to be behind Icky, Zavala, Bozeman, Christensen/Corbett, and Moton with Mays lining up as OL6 or FB if they gotta run it. And if they gotta throw it, they can throw it to one of the 53 6'1" 200lbs+ WRs on the roster.
  22. Excited that they picked up Ajiake. While I've pounded the table for Ivan Pace Jr who went to Minnesota, Ajiake was a guy who was popping up on the stat sheets while I was looking at LBs.
  23. Ivan Pace Jr is sitting there waiting to be signed Go get him pls
