It's wild that we never see folks say we wasted Steve Smith but they'll say we wasted Cam and Luke.

Puka Nacua is about to be this season's Trey Smith when fans want to gaslight themselves.

Miles has a 7.5 million cap hit next year.
That's cool. We can drown under all of the posts bitching about that next season.
But this season? He costs $5M less than that.
(Funny enough, he still wouldn't be a top 5 paid RB as OP suggested. He'd be #7 behind James Connor and Joe Mixon.)

Relieved for Jaycee. He's going to be coming back like a man possessed!!!

it's not a committee approach financially when you are paying one of them top 10 RB money
$2.555M this season (which is what Miles is getting paid).
That makes him the 28th highest paid RB this season.
What in the actual fug are you even complaining about?

Oh no, the team spent $750k more on Miles Sanders this season than the Eagles did on DeAndre Swift.
If only the Panthers hadn't spent less than $3M this season on their RB room. They could have spent $6M like the Eagles did.

Any time we ran 3-3 or had Luvu as a pass rusher Chinn went inside as our second linebacker.
On top of that... Whenever Drake London was in the slot... guess who we manned up against him.... Jeremy Chinn... How many catches did London have? If Chinn wasn't on London he was on Bijan.
Just crazy the disrespect that is getting put on Chinn in this thread.People aren't going to let a pesky little thing like the truth get in the way of their feelings and uninformed opinions.
A whole game/seasons of Chinn doing solid in coverage but the one play he got beat on Sunday is going to be held up as the norm.

Understanding and accepting that the team has a rookie QB and new coaching staff doesn't mean that fans can't predict that the Panthers will win. It just means that we're not going to rage post on the Internet during a loss.
Personally, I find it more fulfilling and entertaining to try to understand why things happened rather than assuming I know more about football than the people paying their bills with it.

It is wild seeing some of same folks that advocated for Deshaun Watson during his scandal assuming that Jaycee Horn was who posted that stuff.

TMJ was open on a couple of routes when the ball went elsewhere. He was a very eager participant in run blocking though and hopefully that will assist with Mingo's development in that area. Chuba had a run where Mingo got about 5yds to the DB and just chopped his feet. Had he engaged like TMJ did every time he had to run block, Mingo would have possibly sprung Chuba free for a TD.

It’s interesting bc they will only argue against it so that they are “not wrong”… but at the end of the day none of give a fug about someone being right or wrong on a message board. As soon as we put our phone down … everything here is an after thought
They can't help but go to the old classic: "Well... at the time I was right to be worried/concerned."
Ah well. Fan is short for fanatics, etc etc.

Any of those top 10 CB's to replace Horn. I am not saying get rid of him. He might be a good 2nd or backup but as a first we know he can't stay off the injury list for a full year. Then there is Jackson.
Looks like there's going to be some decent talent in the 2nd at the very least. Kris Jenkins' son is a DT @ Michigan and currently projected to be an early 2nd, and the aforementioned Rome Odunze is also projected in the 2nd. Jack Sawyer, an Ohio State edge rusher, is also projected there. If not a CB, a position of need looks like it can still be filled.
Granted, a lot can change between now and April.

Troy Franklin & Rome Odunze at WR.
Rome Odunze caught my eye last week vs. Boise State. Seeing now after you mentioned him that he balled out vs. Tulsa too. Definitely going to have to track him now as well!
Didn't realize he was already 6'3" 215lbs with 4.33 speed. That's a Frank Reich WR if I've ever seen one!

Not looking forward to the fan ignorance when it comes time to pay DBrown as well, but can't wait for him to be tied to the team for a few more seasons!

well, I finally listened to the full presser. Sounded like a long winded version of saying the Falcons out game planned them. They tried to make an adjustment at the half and couldn't make the plays to counter it in the end. But totally would in the future.
You didn't catch the part about easing Bryce into things?
That was a fairly significant part of the presser.

I mean, okay I guess but this all star staff has only been coaching him since may so maybe they might have brought that up before the first game. This is the nfl players make plays. Just reads like an excuse but like I said I will listen to the presser in about 15 for better clarity.

1 hour ago, CRA said:I mean, this frankly sounds like something Matt Rhule spews out. Bijan Robinson also broke the rules of running on that TD. He wasn't supposed to juke people out. If he would have just run freaking straight the guys would have made the play.
The Falcons D was playing to jump the routes over the middle because they believed that is what Frank/Bryce would be doing. That's football. And it's frankly predictable. Most knew and projected going in Frank/Bryce would keep it short and in front of the safeties. That's not breaking the rules. That's just good defense.
Direct timestamp for the question and answer.
He's giving Bates his flowers, not making excuses.

Damn! Was hoping when word came back that it was a hammy that it was a minor tear at worst. Sounds like it was a significant tear. Ugh... poor kid. Hope he recovers quickly and without any long term issues.

Looks like the Ekwonu-Zavala left side combo might happen sooner than expected. Reich said that the team was bullish on Mays during the preseason, so I could see him being easier for them to replace with Corbett once he's healed.
If Zavala balls out, he might hold that LG position until the rest of the season. If he doesn't, expect BC back starting (which isn't necessarily a bad thing!).

Great write up! I can't recall the last time I've been this excited for week 2. I'm eager to see the growth that the team shows over the course of the season.
Enjoy the honeymoon!

That one is both on Bryce and Hurst, but more Hurst (IMO) with some great play sprinkled in by Bates on D.
Bryce could have pulled the trigger a split second sooner immediately at the top of the route by Hurst, which would have kept the ball outside the hash and further from Bates
However, watch Hurst's route. He begins to cut in at the 17 and drifts upfield all the way to the 22 by the time he and the ball cross paths. without the drift he meets the ball at the 19/20 in front of Bates and the pick doesn't happen.
With more Reps together Bryce throws that slightly sooner and Hurst runs that route better.
Same thing happened on the other INT when TMJ was the target. He cuts at the 50, floats to the ATL 48, and the pick is made there. Had he stayed on the 50 or come back to the ball it's a completion.
