Everyone talks about the hit from Watt and I'm sure that made things worse, but if you actually paid attention to Cam that season, you could tell he was on the downside. Yes, his numbers were good and CMP% at a career high, but that was because he was no longer playing in Shula's archaic offensive system (easily the worst OC I've ever seen and boggles my mind some people defended him). He had no air on his throws. I mean hell the Eagles game was a great comeback but there was little to no heat behind his throws that game. The truth of the matter is, as much as I love Cam and he'll always be among my favorites regardless of jersey or sport, he was never a great passer anyway. So once he lost some of his arm strength, it isn't a surprise he fell off a cliff. Not to mention his athleticism took a hit too. Not sure why, but he was noticeably slower and less agile than before.

They will 100% cut him. I'd be shocked if any team traded for him knowing how likely it is for him to be cut, unless they truly felt there was no way Carr would sign with them and wanted to secure his services. But while I like Carr, he isn't that good to be that desperate.

Panthers plan at QB should be what it should have been in 2020 Stick with what you have unless you are getting a bonafide stud via trade. Otherwise look to get a blue chip QB prospect in the draft. If for some reason you are unable to get one, go with what you have and look forward to 2024. Stop throwing money at stopgaps. I want a franchise QB or I want to work on building a great team. I like Carr actually and wouldn't be mad if we signed him. Way better than Darnold, Bridgewater, Mayfield, etc. But I don't know if it would be the most ideal scenario.

He did work with the 49ers defense from 2011-2013. And he worked with Vic Fangio at Stanford. Helped with film breakdown and practice preparation in SF. Seems like a good candidate to step in as DC if/when Evero leaves (has play-calling experience at UNLV; left to join Evero in Denver).

Maybe, but he's still a defensive coach and who knows how many openings there will be next year. I wouldn't be so sure he's gone next year, even if it seems likely as of now.

Another Special Juan clickbait thread (aka nothing to see here)
Mage replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
"Panthers COULD re-sign Darnold" "Panthers COULD trade up to get their QB" "Panthers COULD roll with Corral if they don't trade up" David Newton exclusive! -
Watching the two defenses play, I felt like they looked better under Phil Snow. Maybe I'm wrong but that is just how viewed it. I think the defense under Wilks benefited from the offense self-destructing less. But I preferred how aggressive Snow's defense was.

Lol right. Luvu also makes way more sense as an ILB. He’s not an edge rusher in a 3-4, but he would be a good be a great blitzer from the inside.

Panthers have the best head coach and the best defensive coordinator in the NFC South Who would disagree?

A deep cover safety will need to be high on the list of needs this offseason. Broncos had Simmons. We don't need someone that good, but someone who can play back there and allow Chinn to come up more Regardless a great great hire

One thing to keep in mind is that the Vikings defense is old. Kendricks is 30, Hicks is 30, Peterson is 32, Smith is 30, H. Smith is 33. Even Hunter is already 28. Not an ideal spot for a DC.

Dom Capers for DC?
-
They gave him a dumb contract extension and can get out of it with only $5m dead cap. Plus him and McDaniels don't have a great relationship. Carr isn't great but definitely does not belong in the same breath as Bridgewater, Darnold, or Mayfield.

Wet and messy all day, but a good flavorful dry rub w/ some quality blue cheese is great too. I'll eat just about any wing you put in front of me though
-
Damn do you not eat wings lol

I don’t like Matt Rhule, but if you felt you were owed $5m, you wouldn’t pursue it?

How does the comparison make any kind of sense unless you think the NFL is also scripted?
-
I agree, your comparison was bad. Wrestling fans know it is scripted and don't complain about it. Some of you allege to know that the NFL is influenced, but are complaining about it. So comparing it to wrestling fans watching WrestleMania doesn't really work.

Nobody is changing their mind in here. Either you believe something or you don't. Again goes back to my earlier point. You can't change the mind of people who aren't arguing something dependent on facts. And I don't mean that as an insult. It is just the truth. How can I argue against, "one man can decide the outcome of a play." Like... you can't. At that point facts don't matter. It just comes down to what you believe vs what you don't believe. Which is why I think this discussion is pointless. There is nothing to discuss. You either believe it or you don't.

"More people are talking about it." You are living in the moment. Sports fans have complained about bad calls and the sport being "scripted" since the beginning of time. This is literally nothing new. Same is true for NBA, MLB, NHL, etc. There is nothing that is going to change by people complaining on the internet. Bad/missed calls has always been a thing.
-
Wow, I thought it the idea of the NFL being rigged was crazy. But now that it is trending on Twitter? Definitely changed my mind.
-
Yes, this is the perfect comparison for NFL being influenced/rigged.

Wrestling fans don’t complain about wrestling being scripted.

Yes and everyone accepts TV for what it is.
