  1. Putting the W/L record entirely on the QB is a shitty way to evaluate no matter who it is.
  2. DamnItJake! is basically a clone of every idiotic dipshit that posts rants about the Panthers on Facebook.
  3. How exactly does one "through" an accurate pass?
  4. All our players need to "step up" this year, our head coach included.
  5. I can look beyond the punt returner gaffes, yeah it sucked, but he should have never been back there in the first place. But if he doesn't make the roster, so be it. If he does, I assume people will still blindly hate on him, that's just the huddle.
  6. Our original 5th and a 7th. We swapped our 4th with Oakland to draft him.
  7. Who gives a fug if other teams don't like our draft. I suspect a few of the teams are the Falcons, Saints, and Bucs, because now they have to defend Olsen (6'5), Benjamin (6'5), and Funchess (6'5). With Cam Newton (6'5) behind center. Yeah, I'm sure they are pissed.
  8. These 3 guys are looking to come in and fill a role immediately. We weren't going to draft 9 starters.
  9. So we swapped 4th rounders with the Raiders, and gave them our original 5th rounder, and our 7th rounder. We still have 2 5th rounders.
  10. Traaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaade. There's your OT boys.
  11. I wouldn't be surprised if we draft another WR. As far as speed, Funchess is definitely not "slow". Listen, take a deep breath man, kick back, open a brew, and watch some of his highlights.
  12. Some of them, but I figured he was just pissed about the trade, and would come around. When I first heard what we gave up, I was kind of surprised. But knowing how Gettleman does things, how meticulous he is, and how much he values picks, for him to give up a 3rd and a 6th to draft the guy, that tells me that he saw something special in Funchess and thinks he can contribute immediately. I'm happy with it.
  13. Wait. You're seriously unhappy with the Funchess pick Proudiddy? Yikes.
  14. Certainly. It stands to reason that at some point we will likely pick an RB in this draft as well. As for the OL, I think that Gettleman learned his lesson from last year, at least I would definitely hope. Though at this point it looks like any OL drafted would be depth at the most, but we need all of that we can get. I imagine that Gettleman will be looking high and low again after the draft for some more undrafted FA gems, like Brown, and Norwell of last year. I would like to see as much competition as possible on the OL.
  15. It's no secret to anyone who has been watching Panthers games the last few years that our red zone efficiency has gone down a lot. Like I said in my original post, my thinking is that Dave first and foremost wants to improve that, and with Newton, Olsen, and Stewart already in the mix, when you add in Benjamin and Funchess, that's certainly a formidable challenge to defenses. I didn't throw anyone under the bus. I questioned the use of such logic. There is a difference between it being a consideration, and basically being a key factor in the draft process. Maybe a crazy thought here, but on the accuracy front, I would think that Gettleman is probably more concerned about coaching Newton up than giving up multiple picks for a WR just because our QB throws high (which is a pretty over exaggerated claim here btw).
  16. This idea that Gettleman is drafting guys like Funchess, and Benjamin because "derp, Cam throws high literally all the time, draft all the tall guys!" is pretty retarded if I'm being honest. For all you Gettleman dick lickers, it's actually an insult to Dave's intelligence. I think in all the years he's been in the NFL, he has a better sense of offensive talent than that. Seems pretty damn clear to me that he wants the mismatch advantage that those guys present first and foremost, particularly in the red zone. Also, these type of WR's eat up chunks of yards at a time, and help sustain long drives that obviously keep the ball out of the hands of the opposing offense as long as possible.
  17. Seattle was able to put up points on us when they needed to. When we needed points our OL crumbled and we had guys like Bersin as the #1 read. Seattle obviously has a stacked defense, but they have some damn good talent on offense too.
  18. #2 WR is still a legitimate concern moving forward. I'm fine with our pick. But people have quickly forgotten those 6 blowout losses early last season where our offense struggled mightily at times. It's not going to magically solve itself. We need firepower if we want to beat the best of the NFC (Seahawks). With 8 more picks I'm hoping we can work something out.
