What you'll see with many guys not drafted high, thrusted in early on, that don't click immediately: The only completions they can muster are screens, quick slants and bail outs while scrambling Constantly floating post and seam routes, INTs or incompletions galore Aren't standing tall in the pocket and finding a guy downfield with creation if their life depended on it Have no awareness or pocket presence Happy feet galore The ball just seems heavy, no velocity They somehow visibly shrink and the field seems huge sideline to sideline Some can respond and get better but that's like 28 times out of 30, often, not the case. That's just the reality. We got a guy with the 94th pick in the draft, it's a long shot but you're seeing what happens when you put these guys in. There's a reason mostly every team passed multiple times. The company-- Ryan Mallett, Cody Kessler, Garrett Grayson, Kellen Mond, Nick Foles, Davis Mills, Will Grier, Mason Rudolph, Davis Webb, CJ Beathard, Jacoby Brissett, Sean Mannion, Mike Glennon, Russell Wilson, Kevin O'Connell, Trent Edwards, I think you get the picture. I'd rather set expectations super low with Matt and still keep looking for the best QB possible.

Not to get too peppy on the Wilks/Darnold train, but even looking at the NFC, what's really there beyond Philly? MIN - Cousins falling apart is a common tale minus random miracles vs. NO SF - Great team & coach but at the end of the day has a rookie 7th Rounder QB DAL - The defense and Dak have both been shaky, not necessarily a power house Who's even left? NYG? GB? SEA? WAS? DET? If we run the table these last two weeks, there's legit reasons to think this is more than a one and done. Would be one weird as hell season, I'll tell you that. If we're in, I can see an argument of us coming out on top of most of these squad minus SF and PHI. Honestly, bring on Dallas if we make it.

For me personally, and not so much a prediction, I would still pursue a new HC. Tell Wilks he did admirably & no hard feelings if he doesn't come out on top. As nice of a story it would be, retaining an interim defensive minded guy who's been part of our last 2 regimes is not the right approach. If you land an OC, he'll be gone for a HC if we experience success with him. I'd like to fully move past what seems to be a reverb of the Rivera-era. Hire a guy to create a high powered offense w/balanced playmakers. Period. We've had flashes or bits and pieces, but I want someone who can bring in a sustainable system. Even though we beat the Lions due to their porous D, Ben Johnson is still a really solid choice. Steichen in Philly is a hot name, there's a few others. The QB situation is the tough one. In a perfect world, we somehow wind up with Bryce Young and the Texans/Hawks/etc. take Levis and Stroud. We make a slight trade up to get him (unlikely). Although if we don't win the division, a Bryce trade up is something I'd be game for, just not multiple future 1sts for him. Stroud could fall and be in the range. He worries me a tad though--has everything you look for minus a few critical things--improvisational skills and that on-field energy that can lead a team downfield at will. Next option is Richardson. Popular choice. Would definitely generate buzz. Alternate scenario is Jordan Addison or Quentin Johnson at WR, then you target Clayton Tune or Tanner McKee in R2-3. (Maybe Jaren Hall or Aidan O'Connell but unsure if they are worthy of R2-3 grades, the rest, meh minus Haener) Big Player Moves: New Coach helps decide: Minshew, Mike White, Darnold, etc...survey the options Corral is pretty much a wash QB3/see how he jives with the new staff and comes along. Trade value? Negotiate a new contract with Burns FA targets would be a LB & vet WR Big draft targets would be TE, WR, RB, DL, OL (OFFENSE PLEASE)

Brady was about to start driving things, was learning, adapting, getting his feet wet, and Rhule came in with his "I know how we need to get this done" direction...

He is a likely cap casualty this offseason but he's really grown into his own since Luke & TD left. Not a world beater, but a solid damn teammate, leader and does have some strong moments.

I'd prefer to stay away. He's been floating right on that fringe between a solid-starter & franchise-QB for his entire career, and now with his college star on his squad, seemed to somehow whither away into sub-mediocrity. Maybe it's McDaniels but it's just not worth it.

True, experience is limited so it would be a swing. On the flipside, we could pursue someone like Bevell in Miami who would be a solid hire. I believe he was a rumored OC for Wilks back when he took the AZ job.

I remember the Iggles really highly touting him towards the start of the season through some publication online. Need to look it up but it was a hype article for him on how Steichen is kind of the awkward brain child and Brian is more of the hands-on guy that helps with every facet. Anytime there's a team that experiences their type of season, there's more than just one person responsible. Also as retweeted above, his UF history with Richardson is interesting!

The amount of viable QBs that will be available via trade or FA is as thin as the draft, and likely to get worse with many imminent retirements. We're going to have to take a shot somewhere, but I'd prefer the draft.

The best thing about this is how they respond to Bozeman's play when the defense is on the bench. Also--even if Shaq doesn't come back, he's shown growth as a leader. You can see it, has been nice to have him most of the time. Really funny moment with Barno towards the end.

We've also seen the guys who were selected along with him in the 3rd play this year and it's been UGLY. Willis is set for success with the most consistent run game helping him out and good enough WRs. He looks abysmal. Started 3 full games and hasn't thrown for over 150 yards in any. Floating around 50% completion. He looks just downright bad, regardless of how much development he needs. Ridder stuck in it and made some decent throws late last week but otherwise struggled mightily. A 3rd rounder should not be relied on in the slightest. Bugs me people keep wanting to just test him out next year and skip this class. It may be thinned out, but it's not impossible some of these guys turn into something. Need to keep throwing darts.

I think you're right with Tune being the one guy who could move up in tiers this offseason. I can also see Jaren Hall maybe rise a bit in the offseason, although he's a shorty. But it's so true, this class really did thin out. Even with some of the fringe Day 1-2 guys like Daniels, Penix, Ward going back. I'm seeing 4 1st rounders if we're lucky, McKee & Tune somewhere between Late 2nd-3rd at best, and then the rest. Tier 1A: Young Tier 1B: Stroud, Levis, Richardson Tier 2: McKee Tier 3: Tune, Haener, Jaren Hall, O'Connell, Duggan, Hooker Tier 4: R7/UDFA Turned out to be slim pickings.

This. Levis may be perceived by casuals as down but teams still have an eye on his ability (even if he doesn't use it effectively yet). Kentucky's line was also AWFUL so there's some excuses to throw out there. He will likely only rise from here on out during shorts season. He'll get to show off his arm, release, whole shtick.

Levis is a guy who seems to have all the tools, yet doesn't seem to use any of them when actually he plays the game. Just a huge red flag. One of the most frustrating prospects I've seen in some time.
