I did a mea culpa but I do like clowning on the little guy and I absolutely love how y'all circle the wagons around him because if he played for a divisional rival we would be laughing our collective asses off at said team.

Kind of like Baker Mayfield right?

Yeah the reality is we're averaging about 13-14 points a game with Bryce and his 5 y/a average. Purdy has almost 10 y/a for anyone trying to lump them into the same category

I wonder what Purdy would be at with Miles Sanders and Co.

"so yeah, Its um, yeah, I was wrong, uh, thats on me, and you know, I have to get better, its um yeah, its you know on me and I have to keep working and you now get better"

You sound just like one of those idiots that used to get on Cam for "pouting" during press conferences

  4. If Burns played like a top DE/OLB like he thinks he is we'd be a lot better. He should have at least 10+ sacks by this point in the season. He also gets taken out of the run game by TEs still. Our cornerstone piece is holding this defense back by a decent margin. Thank God for Luvu and D. Brown

There is no irony. You felt the need to respond to me with the tidbit, not the other way around. The NFL is a business and it's in their interest to prop up high draft picks. Means nothing, especially when one actually watched it and the season on the whole.

Whatever you got to tell yourself bud

Well crap, I guess I'm wrong. If Red Zone says it, it must be true. Pretty sure the HoF has already asked for Bryce's uniform as well.

Just like if a random person on the Huddle gives his hot take on a certain QB. Completely irrelevant.

Yeh, because we know after one season who the good and bad Qb’s are…

I agree for the most part. Qbs need 2-3 years minimum to figure out what they are going to be in the NFL/out of the NFL. However, I will admit for a #1 overall pick to look this bad is pretty alarming. I think Bryce can play in the NFL but it's going to take the right coaching/players/environment to get that to happen, and Frank Reich just wasn't it.

  8. Man I sure wish we drafted Mullet or Brownie #1 instead of Brice Young. Either one of those QBs would have this team over .500 and in the playoff hunt. Easily. Damn this cursed black cat franchise what will we ever do now!!!

When you're comparing your #1 overall pick to backups and third stringers you know you're losing.

Was I the one to start with the comparisons or was it you and your brigade of Young haters? I was just chiming in to agree with you guys at how amazing these 2 QBs have looked so far today. I mean did you see that Browning kid completely whiff on that deep ball in the 1st quarter? At least it looked pretty and was a spiral! Much better than what Young would have done! Haha!

Realize that while you're mocking these guys still look better than our #1 overall pick.

Oh forsure totally. I'm sure they'd be doing EXACTLY as good as they are right now in our offense too, right? Like instead of TJ Hockenson and Justin Jefferson we give Mullens Tommy Tremble and Thielen. I'm sure he'd be setting the NFL world on fire

It's a problem that has become epidemic around here...

The only thing I can imagine is that with the lack of moderators and overall interest in the site (compared to previous years when the Panthers weren't a dumpster fire), no one stops these threads because they do generate clicks (even if they are nothing more than inflammatory nonsense).

Got to drive ad revenue somehow??  I'm not saying that as anything other than to be matter of fact.  Maybe it's just a necessary trade-off during an awful period to be running a Panthers message board.

Regardless, this place is flat-out embarrassing compared to what it once was, and it still sucks for those of us who remember (and want) this place to be better.

All the old-timers that actually kept this place moderated and a place for actual discourse (and some laughs that aren't predicated on stupid attempts at trolling) have left.

It's ran by trolls who poo on anyone or anything positive whatsoever.  I'm not saying this as hyperbole.

If you don't come in here to wallow in grievance and bash everything, you're not welcome...

And the thing is, we're 1-12... there is a lot to complain about.

But this place has just become toxic for toxic's sake...  it's not funny, it's not snarky, it's not insightful... it's just effing trolling... and it has hurt this board dearly, whether the current trolls in charge in Jeremy's absence will admit it...

Panthers Reddit is so much better for now.  For starters, there is actual moderation, which let's be honest, is a massive step up from Carolina Huddle (at least for the time being)

I love this place... I feel like it has been hijacked just like this franchise has been and turned into something SCP would wipe his ass with on a road trip after some bad Chipotle...  just like Luke Kuechly, SCP had the foresight to abandon this place when he saw where it was going over the past few years...

This place grew organically into the best Panthers message board out there... long before Black & Blue Review (now defunct), before Cat Crave, Cat Scratch Reader, and all the other Panthers-related media and podcasts... Carolina Huddle is unfortunately now a depressing hellscape and a shell of what it once was...

I don't see this place getting any better until we start winning and some of the old-timers (with something actually to say beyond trolling) return...

Yep I remember when Jeremy would do write ups during TC and podcasts during the regular season with players or people close to the team. Even some players/agents would visit and post occasionally. Good times. At least we got the memories

That’s the season I started following football and the Panthers. I was 17 at the time and was told by a coworker friend to turn on the tv immediately because the panthers were blocking field goals and extra points left and right. I turn it on and sure enough I saw one fg get blocked. Had no idea how football worked then but I’ve followed the team since.

Same here, I started playing football the following summer at 12/13 years old. That super bowl was the first full game I ever watched. I wouldn't say I became a Panthers fan right then and there but that game got me to start following the team and as I got older and more into football by my freshman year I was a full fledged Panthers fan and the only Panthers fan at my HS in NW Indiana.

You just don’t get it man. We’re 13 weeks in and we have seen nothing indicating he’s an NFL QB. His style doesn’t work in the NFL where you only have a 2.5 seconds. They’re saying they’re going to work on his footwork after the season, there’s a chance he can’t even do a normal drop back, he’s struggling with basic operational stuff still. Meanwhile peoples careers are ending bc of this. Coaches who had long track records of success are being fired and will never work again. Most our players have no market value anymore. Tepper’s decision is ruining lives

Which coaches are you referencing? Because Frank Reich was fired mid season just last year so there is no way you are talking about him, right?

  14. 3 minutes ago, bandu said:

yeah but at the very same time ask yourself this question then?what if Frank Reich was able to get the Qb that he wanted in CJ Stroud instead of Bryce Young

We can sit here and play the what if game all day long. The people who don't like Young will come up with all sorts of scenarios where we would be successful if we just draft Stroud, if we just started Dalton, if we just brought back Jimmy Clausen we'd have so many more wins and this team would be awesome!!!!

Offensive line would still be a joke and playing in the wrong scheme, WRs are a bunch of journeyman/JAGs at best. TEs are, wait who are our TEs again? And the running game that didn't show up until we hit double digit weeks in the regular season. There's a lot wrong with this offense than simply having the "wrong" QB. Not even going to touch on the coaching staff which turned into an absolute poo show.

But again 99% of this board will continue to believe Bryce Young is our only problem and he's really the ONLY person holding this team back from winning the division and being a playoff caliber team. Ok lol
