I have yet to see one person that is on his jock even acknowledging he has this tippy toe crap and a skip step extra move before throwing anything he needs to have some heat on it like on a deep ball or an out with fast NFL defenders racing his ball to the target. Until it is some vague “footwork” issue.

Too much arc = too much defender gap-closing time. Some of these plays are made on a paper thin margin time wise and that extra .3 seconds is a stride. Maybe less, it happens so fast. There are probably three steps they can make up in his throws over 20 yards or so.

Wouldn't it be nice to have a QB coach to help you work on those things at the NFL level? One of the reasons Reich is gone is because some of the poo he said just doesn't make any sense. Why wouldn't you want to work on footwork and dropbacks when it comes to your rookie QB in the offseason? Isn't this something all QBs are supposed to work on every single day? What exactly was McCown doing his entire time here? With all these experts on the staff the plan for how to coach Bryce and the type of offense to run and the personnel required to run it hasn't made a whole lot of sense.

Do you think we should've stuck with Clausen? Sometimes the truth is painfully obvious.

If Young had a HOF WR in his prime with Smash and Dash in the back field and he looked as bad as Clausen I'd probably agree. However, you guys can laugh and pull up all the stats you want but Bryce hasn't entered Clausen territory yet. I remember those games vividly and if you have access to the NFL all 22 I implore you to go rewatch some of his games. The few plays Bryce has made Clausen couldn't even dream of making

So a rando on this message board's opinion should be more valid than Cam Newton, Nick Saban, Aaron Rodgers, etc.

Got it... and do you really wonder why so many old-timers have fled this place?

The level of intellectual discourse here is below sea-level...

Unfortunately the fandom of an NFL team usually is a reflection of the record. And the Carolina Panthers have the worst win % among all professional sports teams since 2019. You've got a few level headed people that still post here and there but for the most part this fanbase is a reflection of the team. It's unfortunate but wcyd. I still like to chime in and have my fun with them though.

You can belive in Santa Caluse and the Easter Bunny too. The tape is there and you can ignore it if you wish. I have already stated ad nauseam he is going to be here next year regardless of what I think about him.

Playing Dalton just adds more to the heap of obvious but it's also the best move for Bryce anyways. Nothing is getting better the rest of this season and the rest of the offensive roster could use a few games to prove what they can do without him because he is a large part of the problem on the field in the offense.

I don't think he can beat out a decent backup at this point and there really isn’t any untapped potential. Fix his feet and send him out to start earning that new QB in 25 is the plan by defualt.

I think Bryce would have benefitted from sitting out a few more weeks after the Bears or Colts game. Almost wish he twisted an ankle or something. If the improvement was going to come this year it would have already happened. No point in continuing to throw him to the wolves with this lame duck coaching staff and we'd get an honest evaluation of our offense. Is it really all Bryce? I personally don't think so but maybe it is. Maybe Dalton comes in and gets a few more wins but I don't see it being some sort of drastic turn around either way. But yea we either get a HC that knows how to run an offense with Bryce at QB or we pick another one in '25 that's really it at this point.

People keep trying to do mental gymnastics but the reality is that a lot of our offensive struggles boil down to Bryce sucks.

Our rookie #1 pick QB has sucked this year but the team also sucked at surrounding him with proper players + coaching. Both are pretty much true I don't really know how you can argue against the latter.

Why do you think so many don't want to see it?

Because it would prove the obvious and they couldn't hide behind 'it's so hard to evaluate Young this year'  anymore while having to internally confront going so hard for a massive bust way past the point of being reasonable.

If Young truly is a bust then he will bust out of the league its as simple as that. There is nothing to hide behind lol. He's going to get a second year to prove his worth regardless of what your opinion is of him or mine. I just choose to believe that with a coaching staff that has a better sense of direction, and a front office that isn't constantly shooting itself in the foot Young and the rest of the roster will be put in a better position to succeed versus the alternative which is what 99% of the huddle believes. And that's fine, had we retained Reich I'd probably be a little less optimistic but optimistic none the less.

Right. If my options are to either watch this trade go down in flames as one of the worst in league history or eat crow I'll eat crow 10 times out of 10.

Just to be clear if it were to happen it would be one of the most miraculous turnarounds in league history. So we're right back to praying for him to be an outlier amongst outliers. Might as well hope for a winning lotto ticket while we're at it.

Nah. If Bryce does turn it around it will be because of the new HC hire and those around him making him look better than what he truly is, calling it now. At least that's what the fine folks of the Carolina Huddle will say anyway

I think you have a good point. He only needs half the attempts of Bryce to throw twice the amount of TDs. Thank you for pointing it out. And yes, wouldn’t it be nice if we could run for +200 yards to help Bryce out? Oh, wait a minute..,

How long did it take for our running game to show its face? 11, 12 weeks into the season? You think that's success? Haha okay

Hope isn't a realistic plan but if that's where you are at now God bless because you are at rock bottom

Oh but your "realistic" plan is to give up on a #1 overall pick after 1 season in which the entire team is bad. This is not an offense that is "one QB away" from consistently winning football games and if that's what you believe then you are further down than whatever rock bottom is

  10. But seriously though this horrid season might be a blessing in disguise. Did we really want another Cam Newton/Ron Rivera situation? Where the #1 pick QB is constantly overcoming the horrendous coaching decisions being made thus keeping him employed for longer than he should have been? Frank was clearly not going to be the answer here. And hopefully Fitterer is fired for the mess he created as well. If this season accomplishes that at a minimum our future is already brighter. If Bryce can't improve with hopefully a better HC hire (can it really be worse than the last 2?) next season the new coach will probably bench him and we will be in prime position to draft the top QB in '25. That's honestly how I'm looking at this entire situation. Bryce deserves a chance with hopefully a better coach and team around him then after that we'll see what happens.

I gotta hand it to the stubborn Young supporters on here. You're going down swinging lol.

Either hope he gets better with a better HC hire next year or go root for another team or not watch football at all. What other option is there other than cheering against your favorite team? Who honestly roots for their team to fail? Seems like a pointless concept does it not?

Ironically I assume you saw that he was sacked 0 times in the last game by looking at the stat sheet?

Not sure if you’ve seen his stats in the last five games, including all the sacks he’s taken (and all the TDs he’s thrown).

    image.thumb.png.7fb1c98f0930e78a7e98e056d671ac4a.png

Aren't stats amazing? You know what else this chart shows? How the NYG play around their rookie QB. Look at how many times he throws the ball a game vs Bryce. That's how you play a rookie QB in a struggling offense. You help him by not making him do everything on his own. That guys pass attempts equal what Bryces are by half time most games. He throws the ball 25 times and even less and the Giants are still able to put up points (some games). They got a win in a game they scored only 10 points in lmao.

Endless excuses for everything while trashing every player and coach and making absolutely zero mention of the undrafted QB's playing much better with similar circumstances.

And you wonder why you can't get anyone to see eye to eye with you.

You sound like you're in a cult.

That undrafted QB everyone keeps talking about was sacked 0 times. How many times has Young been afforded that opportunity? You keep looking at those stat sheets though champ it's bound to get you somewhere eventually!

This whole “gotta see him on a better team before evaluating him” nonsense is the most transparent bullshit. It’s a thought terminating cliche for people that can’t handle how wrong they were about him and how badly the team has failed. It’s setting up an impossible standard that will never achieved because it’s not being made in good faith.

like even if Bryce has not shown glaring weaknesses in his individual game that have nothing to do with what’s going on around him (which lmao if you think he hasn’t) am I supposed to believe he’s going to survive until the panthers turn into the 49ers?

And his footwork is not something you’re going to fix. We know based on what Chark said and the athletic article that reich lied about play calls or Bryce’s decisions to protect him. This “we’re gonna work on mechanics next season” nonsense was obviously a lie to protect him and/or tepper.

I just choose to use logic to form my football opinions not my emotions like most fans here do. You people look at everything as black and white and act like a young kid can't improve if the circumstances around him improve. The team and coaching staff we hired failed our rookie QB not the other way around. They made too many miscalculations already way before they even made the decision who to take #1 overall. There wasnt a clear vision for the team. There were too many different philosophies and they couldnt get them to mesh. The whole play calling fiasco. McCown was a first time QB coach. It was all a mess. But no one wants to acknowledge that. They only want to focus on one person. The QB. Sure the QB is supposed to help elevate the play of his teammates to an extent but when the coaching staff and scheme that your in is directionless and in shambles it's hard to flourish. You want your rookie QB to come in and play like he's a vet that's been in the league for 5+ years that's asking a lot when everything around him is breaking down constantly. There is no consistency and then when there is finally a play to make and he doesn't make it we jump down his throat about it. What about the previous 5 plays where there was an olineman that didn't put a single hand on the guy right in front of him leading to a sack/fumble? Or back to back drops by the WR? No we focus on the deep ball he overthrew to slow ass Johnathan Mingo. It just doesn't make sense to me. But that's fine you guys continue to focus on Bryce and once/if we hire a good HC, big IF and Young starts to look like a solid pick I'll be here awaiting you guys with open arms back on the bandwagon. See you there!!

That wont happen anytime soon so Young is going to have to show out anyway at least a glimmer or be gone.

Chances are it probably won't happen but it might if we strike gold on the next HC hire. Hopefully GM as well I really don't see how anyone including Tepper keeps Fitt around after what happened this year.

All I know is that on Monday night, two rookie QBs beat tougher teams with stellar performances. One was an undrafted rookie. The other was a guy we had been assured was a mook, a chump and a future embarrassment to his future team.

Maybe Bryce will eventually pan out and this is all because of bad coaching, he will hit the Tua boost by the third year. But right now I'm just seeing a guy with a popgun of an arm, no touch on the ball, an inability to read a defense or even see the field.

And yeah, he has no receivers and the line in front of him sucks.

But maybe, just maybe he sucks, too.

He might. But until we see him on a proper team with a proper coaching staff and scheme I'll reserve my judgements because I truly believe any pocket style QB would be awful on this team too. Maybe they look a little better with a little better stats but it would still be bad. The decision making from start to finish was all wrong last year. From the trades, over estimation of talent, the coaching staff that was put together, the players who were traded, not traded, and the players drafted. Just a complete and utter failure from start to finish. Bryce will need better than that if he's going to succeed here, like any quarterback.

  17. Ickey still getting beat like a drum on pass plays. Surprised he isn't in the bottom 5 he whiffs on so many blocks its really alarming. He has 1 or 2 plays a game where he doesnt even get a hand on the player.

And wow Huddle Game day favorite Mingo in the bottom 5 yet I'm not seeing Young who, from a stats perspective, had his worst game as a professional and received all of the Huddles blame for the offense on Sunday. There were a lot of drops and our WRs are so slow compared to watching other WRs in the NFL. I'm not sure if any of you watch teams outside of the Panthers, I'm not sure how you wouldn't be by now with yet another poo season on our hands, but it's pretty obvious to me. We lack speed and guys that can make plays after the catch. We have to find 1-2 players with that ability by next year.

And we have got to figure out the oline issues at LT and LG. We've had some solid  performances at the RG spot this year but LT and mostly LG have been a disaster all year long. Good to see Mayes have a solid performance at LG hopefully he can keep building on that but we definitely need at minimum 2 or 3 new starters by next season.

Bro 1-12 skews thew record pretty hard. Obviously ther last 6 yeasrs sucked.

This is like people lost at sea in a raft looking at open ocean ands seeing an oasis. It was a total illusion.

We've had double digit losses every single year. 5-11 5-11 5-12 7-10 1-12. We are at our average losses for the year already. How is it skewing the stats exactly by being 1-12?

  19. He got drafted to and plays for the worst organization in the NFL. The Carolina Panthers have the worst win % out of ALL professional sports teams since 2019. Yes that includes the NBA MLB etc. Dead last. It's going to take more than drafting a QB #1 overall into a talent deficient offense with a lame duck coaching staff to turn this around.

Go ahead and blame it all on Bryce though. Whatever helps you all cope with the fact that you are fans of the worst organization in ALL of professional sports

Oh Steve 100000000% catches the one he "missed" to Mingo before half. Mingo is one of the slowest rookie WRs I've seen in some time. You guys like to say Bryce Young doesn't have an NFL arm well Johnathan Mingo also does not have NFL WR game speed.

If Young were on 1 of our rivals, instead of this garbage team, we would all be howling with laughter and mocking him endlessly. Bust Young. if you look at him without the perspective of being a Panthers fan, his play becomes much, much harder to defend.

Except he'd probably look 10 times better if he were the QB of any other team other than the Carolina Panthers.

This fanbase has such terrible football IQ. We're going to be terrible for awhile at least I get to continue to laugh at the people who think they know what they're talking about on this forum. Haha.
